Honestly speaking marrying a man like Dev is marrying a slave. Just like slave's words, will, love etc. doesn't matter since he is bought and paid for by his master, the same way Dev's will, words, love doesn't matter because he is owned by his mother.

In USA, when slavery was a way of life, they didn't let their slaves have human emotions and hence didn't allow them to marry. Because if the slave falls in love, they might rebel against their master for their love's ill treatment.

See? Even slave owners were worried for their slave rebelling for their love. But Ishwari need not worry. Dev will never rebel against her. Why? Because he is not a slave made by someone else. He is a slave out of his own free will.

You can free a slave who is forcefully made slave. But you can't free a willing slave.

Today when Ishwari said jump, Dev went and asked Sona how high she is willing to jump. Had Sonakshi said no, he would have forced her to jump. Not to mention, he was upset when Sona, despite getting the massive heartbreak was not at home paying homage to returning Goddess.

That's why I used to say over and over again, Mamma's boys don't make good husbands. Marrying a slave, will only make you slave.
