After today's episode, i think Sona's options are limited..

1. Take a divorce immediately, now that she know that Ishwari's love was conditional.

That option was always there. Dev has that option and so does Sonakshi. From their wedding night they have had that option. Ishwari's love has nothing to with this couple's decision to spend their lives together and the day Sonakshi realises this, life with be simpler for both of them. Notice, I say simple, I don't say kind. Life wont be kind to them unless Dev gets out of the Ishwari-cage

Dev hasn't seen many successful marriages around him. Sonakshi on the other hand grew in the shelter of one. They are both however lousy life-partners. Are they perfect soulmates? Would Ritwick and Sona & Dev and Natasha been better life partners even though they weren't soulmates?

That night on 30th Dec when they both comforted each other, I did a happy dance. They both were talking... yippee. They had a plan. They even referred to their childhood lessons (Sona spoke about how she was brought up to succeed and Dev said bad times don't last). They acknowledged each other's pain and disappointments. It was pure bliss.

Then what went wrong in the New Year 2017? Things went wrong the wedding night. That night, Dev wanted to make Devakshi a couple while Sonakshi refused his advances because she was irked that she has an uphill task becoming a Dixit bahu. If there is a couple whose wavelength matches perfectly but on two different planes, its devakshi.

You know if Neha had found Ishwari in that temple, what would she have done? She would have called her bhai. Anyone aside from Dev would have done exactly that. They couldn't get Ishwari to give up Samosas for once! The only person who can handle Ishwari's unfair behaviours is Dev. What Sonakshi has unknowingly been doing is getting in that line of fire.

Another big issue Sonakshi has is, till her relationship with Ishwari was their own without involving Dev, everything was fine. The moment Dev gets involved, things go wrong for Ishwari.

Dev sees Sonakshi and him as a unit. If Ishwari is his God, he believes it's the same for Sonakshi too. He cannot yet understand that Sonakshi has the same limitation as Neha. Ishwari doesn't see anyone in the same place as Dev. The baby mirage had blinded everyone for a while. That's all. All the chess pieces are back in their place now

So, are they good JEEVANSATHIs? Dev has looked for JeevanSathi for Dr Bose. Ishwari has asked Dev to become a good JeevanSathi to Sonakshi. Asha has seen a good Jeevan Sathin Dev for Sonakshi. I think they are all wrong. Dev and Sonakshi are not good JeevanSathis to each other. Because, they are not in sync. They don't talk. They don't communicate. They are soulmates and have a long way to go before they can become a good life partner to each other.

2. Rebel against Dev and make his life hell.. for not even bothering to listen to her

How can she do that?

Not let him touch her in the bedroom? We know Dev is lover-seducer tres bien.

Blackmail him? Intimidate him somehow - she can't.

Throw tantrums - he will bear it all before Ishwari finds out and throws the jhula out

He has infact made matters worse by give Rs 5 cr to Bose nutrition. Sonkashi doesn't know and when Dixits find out imagine the drama

The only 'control' she has on Dev is her kindness and niceties. She is a nice person. Dev loves that person and I can't see how she can ever rebel against him. He didnt even let her have a clean break-up(which is partly why he is so pyar main pagal. But so is Sonakshi Pyar main kamzor)

3. Give all the silent treatment. (just ignore all and make Dev feel guilty as hell)

Well, she could do an Elena... now that she has already tried to be friends with everyone in this family and failed. She did not take much flak from mamiji. She gave her right back on the day of muh dikhai closely supported by her husband and mother in law. She can try that. All that is going to result in is more verbal abuse. Her relationship with her husband(and vice versa) needs mending. Involving families isn't going to work

i am not able to think of any other option.

The challenge for Sonakshi is she needs to stop trying to become bahu number one. This is actually a very strong message in there for all the young brides out there. This isn't a 60 second data download. Stop trying to become the apple of your in-laws' eye. Even if your husband's life would be less brutal as a result of that, first settle in the new home, make sure you and your husband communicate loads and then become Tarla-dalal, byomkesh bakshi, Jackie chan and the rest. Easier said than done. But sonakshi's yearning for her MIL's love has in some ways led to this mess

So the only option Sonakshi has is to keep doing what they did on 30th Dec - talk talk talk. Keep talking

The episode was very crisp and editing was excellent today..not a dull moment, even with the Ishwari drama.

Erica's expression and voice just added to the intense feelings that most of the audience would have felt for Sona today.

Felt bad for Dev.. waiting for his character to grow, he still seems to be in his diapers when it comes to ishwari.

Just a note on that. Dev doesn't wear diapers. He carries a Tulsi Kanthi mala and chants his God's name 24x7. His God happens to be his lover's mother-in-law. This is where it gets complicated

Should he have spoken to Bijoy the way he did - No

Should Bijoy have spoken about Ishwari the way he did - No

Should Dev ask Bijoy to excuse him for his behaviour - yes

Should Bijoy ask forgiveness to Ishwari - No - why - because mamiji was accusing his daughter of deception when the person who accepted and indeed did deceive his loved ones is Dev.

I dont agree with any of the options. woh ghar jinta ishwari ka hai, utna hi sona ka bhi hai.
1. Agar GKB dubara sona ko kuch sunati hai to Sona to ek rone he machine ki tarah aasu nahi bahana chayi, use palat kar jawab dena chahiye jiase mooh dikayi ke time pe kiya tha. that is the need of the hour, no one values your tears, rather your tears imply that your guilt and give more chance to others to ride over it.

2. Ishwari ko pehle Ghar ane do, sona ko koi jaroorath nahi hai ke woh yeh prove kare ki yeh saari jooth dev ka kaand tha. Rather if ever Ishwari tells her that she is the reason that Dev lied to her, its time ki woh palat kar yeh kahe ki - jitna mai dev se pyaar karthi hoon, utha hi woh bhi mujh se pyaar karhte hai, Main to apne maa, baaba ki liye koi dusre ladke (ritwik) ke saath rishta jod ne ki liye tayaar bhi ho gaye. woh to dev they ki mujhe bhulanasake aur mere engagement ke din drama kiya.

3. Dev ko bhi use silent treatment dene chahiye. let them stay in the same house, same room with him, but never let him see her tears. She is capable and strong to face any situation.

the day sona stops craving for Ishwari's love/affection/trust or acceptance, and starts living her life with Dev as his wife and ascertains her right over him, that day all this nonsense will stop.

HAQ ke ise cheez hai jise diya nahi jaata, use liya jata hai. ( remember dev ka famous dialogue, pyar haq dedeta hai sonakshi, )
as dev said, woh Sona ka dev hai, use dev per apne pyaar, gussa yah naarazgi dhikane ke liye kise ke bhi permission / manjoori ki jaroorath nahi hai, Agar Dev kudh bhi chaache toh Sona se yeh nahi keh sakta,

Smart move would be to go with the 3rd option. Saw how guilty he felt when she didnt react during the birthday track. The greatest pain is always given in silence .
If she is a true woman then she should make a man out of Dev which his mom couldnt. But the point to think is ...is it worth it ?? I mean she is going to loose a lot of her happiness and peace of mind. Is Dev so precious and important that he deserves her time and affection??

maybe you are right.. Sona has a lot more thinking to do than Dev.. life is all black and white for him.. He needs, like what Sona had told him many episodes before, life lessons from the Bose family.

I am also beginning to come around to this.. there is too much of sh&^ being flung at Sona right now.. she needs a break to think with a cool and calm mind.. moving away from the Dixit house and the Bose house would be a great temporary start.. and probably an exciting track too.. with no third angle coming in now..

Whether its Sona or Dev or Ishwari, They were never HERO material in this show. We started painting them in that way with our imaginations & expectations. They are the MIRROR images of the people whom we see or meet in our day to day life around us. These characters are teaching us life lessons about what kind of mistakes you should never do in your life and how to be wise & smart wrt your choices & decisions in life. If i am not wrong even Shaheer conveyed the same thing in one of his initial IV where he said in the initial days of show, Mamta used to call him to remind him that "Dev is not a HERO and dont play him like a HERO."

I dont have any sympathy for Dev or Sona. What ever they are today and where ever they are standing in their life is just because of their own choices. Not even Ishwari is responsible for their current state. Any person can take you for granted only when you allow them to do by giving that power. If Ishwari is Dev's weakness then Dev is Sona's weakness. Loving some one doesn't mean losing your self.

Ishwari is the most cunning and smartest lady character i have ever seen on indian TV. Y'day's reality check was the much much needed one for Sona. Starting from her marriage decision, each and every decision of Sona was a mistake done by her. She asked all right Q's to Dev when he came to her to tell that his mother is now finally accepted their relation but she jumped in to marriage without looking for answers for those Q's. This was her biggest mistake and no one forced her to do this. Loving some one is different and living in hell for life time is different. I dont know why people think that on her wedding night she came to know that Ishwari agreed for this marriage only for Dev and she didn't accepted her. If we go back and see when Ishwari begged Sona to marry Dev, She never said i was wrong in understanding you and your love for Dev, She again and again said you both never gave me time to accept your relation and please marry my son because you are his happiness. If i was there in Sona's place, I would have never accepted this marriage proposal. From the day Sona entered in to this relation her only aim in life became winning Ishwari's love and her current state is just because of this. Even she want to have baby for all the wrong reasons, Thank god that she is not pregnant because any baby doesn't deserve this kind of family.

If you ask me, Who is responsible for Sona's miserable state at present? then my immediate reply will be she HERSELF. If she want any +ve change in her life then the first thing she need to do is stop dying for her MIL's conditional love. At least this much she can do after getting y'day's reality check. right? Then the next thing she need to do is setting her priorities right in her life and think about herself instead of pleasing everyone at Dixit home.

Every one is saying Dev doesn't had any growth in his character till now but what kind of growth Sona's character had till now? Dev's character doesn't have any growth because Sona turned herself from a Bose to a typical Dixit. Dev doesn't need another Dixit in his life, Dev's character will experience growth only when Sona revert back herself to Dr.Bose.

who says that there was no growth in Sona's character? her growth has been negative.. Dev has been stagnant.. yes, Sona should have mulled over all this before she married Dev.. but even after marriage, she has been bearing things just for Ishwari's attention and affection. Is this a right thing to do? heck no!

Also, i am not supporting all Sona's decisions. She has dug a hole for herself and now the time has come for her to really choose and that is why i had posted 3 options which came to mind.

If your kid is sick and the medicine is bitter then will you stop giving him/her the medicine? She saw what was his state during their break-up days. If this is how he and his family will learn their lessons and see the truth then let it be. Let her leave them for sometime and make sure he wont reach you till you want it to happen. Before teaching others about her worth, first she need know it & need to learn how to treat herself.

For me marriage is a life time commitment and i wont give up on this without trying every possible option available in any circumstances. So divorce will never be my suggestion.

For any problem, there will be 2 solutions always.

1. Easy way - Blaming others for your misery and justify your actions.
2. Difficult way - Owning up your choices and understanding where you went wrong then put efforts to set it right. All in all, taking your life in to your control.

Choice is left to each individual. I believe and follow always the second path.

While i agree with you in parts, especially that there are no heroes and villains in real life, it is important to note that apart from how our decisions affect our own selves, our decision also impact those around us. We are rational animals, as the old belief goes, and it is true. No person can live like an island and be immune to the surroundings him / her. it is a god created eco-system for man's well being, which ironically is being systematically destroyed by man. Anyway, this is a deeper subject that what it seems to be and i think it will not be appropriate to get into this philosophy ( which i personally advocate and evangelise0.

On an aside, if we were to use the same logic of no villains / heroes in life, that what does it make Ishwari to be? Then maybe Dev is right and most of us are all wrong. Food for thought.

@ BOLD - maybe a very practical option but will it find takers in the audience?
