EPILOGUE
Aapki nazron ne samjha,
Pyaar ke kaabil mujhe...
Dil ki ae dhadkan theher jaa,
Mil gayi manzil mujhe...
Aap ki nazron ne samjha...
Sonakshi reclined back on the hospital bed, and closed her eyes... "Can life be this blissful?" she wondered... All the chaos in the hospital room has shifted to outside the corridor. She was alone now, and a bit tired to be sitting... Lying down was a better option...
Like she thought it happened in the movies, she tried rewinding the reel of her life in the past two years, in her mind, and put a play button to it...
Her walking on the corridors of the hospital two years ago... Finding some hope of life giving hope to those hospital patients...
Aunty ji begging to be relieved out of the ill wishes she and her family was facing...
Walking into the badly shaped Ishwari Niwas... Everyone distanced, all emotionally apart...
Climbing up the steps to Dev's room, and seeing him in a total broken shape...
Meeting him after an hour in the garden... A better shaped Dev... Shaved and clean...
Little by little restructuring of Ishwari Niwas and its residents...
Throwing off Dev's alcohol bottles finally...
Walking down the steps of the Family Court with her parents, after the divorce from the previous marriage.
Into Ishwari Niwas, being blamed for being a gold digger and what not...
Breaking down before Dev when he insisted to know the reason for divorce...
The walk never to forget with Dev, when despite understanding his emotions, she had distanced herself from him... They were two different personalities post their breakup and especially after her marriage and divorce...
Him standing at her doorstep, apologizing for all the wrong, and finally proposing marriage to her...
The cakewalk to marriage, and the blissful life together...
Sonakshi opened her eyes with the sound of the hospital room clicking open, she could hear a baby yelling at the top of her lungs...
Ji humein Manzoor hai,
Aapka ye faislaa...
Keh rahi hai har nazar,
Banda parvar shukriya...
Hans ke apni zindagi mein,
Kar liya shaamil mujhe...
Dil ki ae dhadkan theher jaa,
Mil gayi manzil mujhe...
Aapki nazron ne samjhaa...
Sonakshi adjusted the baby to her bosom and the little one was ready for the meal... Constantly looking at the suckling infant's face, she was lost, back into the lanes of the memories, so vivid...
Marriage like any normal conjugal life was full of ups and downs... Both with Dev and with the rest of the families... She remembered the reactions she got from both the families when soon after their marriage, they had proposed for fertility treatment...
Ishwari supported, though she seemed skeptical as well hopeful... Skeptical, if this would work, and hopeful to one day get a grandchild... After all the world worked on hopes...
Bijoy was somewhere restless and livid... Restless because he wanted to set everyone at his daughter's husband's place right, right from the start of the marriage, so that they do not misbehave with their Shona like Ritwick's family did... And livid because he thought Dev and his family have started pressurizing his daughter for a child so soon after marriage...
Sonakshi giggled a bit remembering how it took efforts for her to explain to her father that it was her choice, and her love for Dev that she wants to try for a baby whole heartedly, even if it meant undergoing any treatment, and she needs total co-operation from their side too, to not give her any tensions that change her focus from her treatment...
It took her six months under treatment, when one day, Dev had come walking smiling to her to break the news of the monthly reports they got... She had conceived... Though this was what she had wanted so much, sincerely, yet it was so difficult to believe... He had to voice it again and again and again and again to her, even showing her the reports... Both sat on the bed, and cried their hearts out... Cried as if to the end of the universe... And she cried more... Ask her someone, what was it to go through, to see such a day... A failed marriage, a painful divorce, another marriage, rigorous treatment, and never ending suggestions... Was she finally passed in her test of life? She cried in happiness, she cried in disbelief, she cried in recovery from the pain, she cried her failures, she cried her broken heart, she cried everything out of her system... It was her crying that had accumulated the rest of the members of the house at their door, and the good news broke...
If rose was kept most delicately by the gardener, both the set of families would have challenged him... They had taken care of their little rose like daughter, Sonakshi, literally with baby gloves. Such pampering, such care, such love... Sonakshi didn't know she could have been loved so much by the Dixits, who initially hadn't approved as Dev's girlfriend treated as if she was the daughter and Dev was an outsider...
And Dev? Her husband is husband goals. He may be the best son, brother and all that... It took him time to be the best boyfriend, and took him even longer to prove to be the best future husband after having a heart shattering breakup, seeing her marrying someone else, becoming a drunkard, losing everything... Building from his own ashes, just like the phoenix, and built up from the scratch, and she could proudly say, yes, he is Husband Goals... Which stone was left unturned during this pregnancy that he did not turn for her happiness, for taking the best care he could... Her Rock of Gibraltar... Her, knight in the shining armour... Her prince charming...
Aapki manzil hoon main,
Meri manzil aap hain...
Kyu main toofaano se daroon,
Mera saahil aap hain...
Koi toofaano se keh de,
Mil gaya saahil mujhe...
Dil ki ae dhadkan theher jaa,
Mil gayi manzil mujhe...
Aapki nazron ne samjha...
Think of the prince charming and he walks in...
Sonakshi looked up from her thoughts seeing the door clicked open, walked in her husband, the father of her tiny daughter-Tiny Sona; that he would call their little baby, Suhana as...
"Dev, kahan they aap?" Sonakshi complained...
"Sabko ghar bhej raha tha... Itne saare log ek saath, shor ho raha tha corridor mein... Isliye sabko see off kar raha tha... Now only my Sona, and my Tiny-Miny Sona, and uske Godzilla jaise papa..." Dev giggled on his little joke as he ran his fingers over the little baby's head, who was done having her feed, and was far asleep... He was taking their little daughter from her arms, when the door to the room clicked open yet again...
"Is this the room for the cardiac and maternity patient, sister?" in walked the doctor inside... Dev and Sonakshi looked up at him with Suhana still being held by both Dev and Sonakshi...
The doctor froze in his steps seeing the couple... "Was he hallucinating?"... Even Dev and Sonakshi thought the same... Standing before them was Dr. Ritwick Sen, Sonakshi's ex-husband who left her because the reason was, she can never be a mother...
"Whose baby is that?" Ritwick couldn't help ask just like the slip of the tongue...
Dev took Soha in his arm, and walked towards Ritwick... "If I was standing so close to the maternity bed, and nobody else is around, I probably may be the father... Simple guess... As to the mother, you can see Mrs. Sonakshi Dixit lying on the maternity bed, connected to the I.V., and wearing a maternity gown, I am sure you are qualified enough to understand that she is the one who delivered the baby?" Dev told half amused and half sarcastic.
"But, how? All the doctors told she could never be a mother... She never responded to any treatments..." Ritwick was lost, pale coloured.
"I don't understand medical science like you do Dr. Ritwick, but as far as I have accompanied Sonakshi in her treatment schedules and tests, they said, there are LESS chances of her being a mother. They never said she can never be a mother... And as to her not responding to the treatments, well, if you had tried loving her the way I do, she would definitely had responded." Dev turned about... Picked a box of sweets and presented before him- "For the happiness on the birth of Mine and Sonakshi's daughter, Suhana... Please have it..." Dev thrusted the box before him... Ritwick cordially took a piece of sweet, congratulated the couple and walked out with the nurse, cursing her for giving him the wrong room number...
Dev walked back to Sonakshi, kissed her head with reverence... Asked if she will have some sweets... And she made another bad face... They had diffused the tension in seconds... Dev settled Sonakshi to have a little nap, before this minx woke up again and demanded for her mother... And Dev walked all about the room with Soha in his arms, the baby yawning every few minutes in her sleep...
Padh gayi dil par mere aapki parchaaiyaan,
Har taraf bajne lagin, saikdo shehnaaiyaan,
Do jahan ki aaj khushiyaan,
Ho gayi haasil mujhe...
Aapki nazro ne samjha,
Pyaar ke kaabil mujhe...
Dil ki ae dhadkan theher jaa...
Mil gayi manzil mujhe...
"Tum dono jaao, aur aaraam se Awaard(Award) leke aao... Main aur meri poti tv pe dekhenge... Chinta mat karna iski..." Ishwari assured Dev and Sonakshi as they were dressed up for attending the award function that would felicitate Dev as the Business Person of the Year Award... Three years ago, Sonakshi had accompanied him in the same function as his mother's nutritionist... This time she was his wife, draped in a beautiful wine colour saree, fitting her at the right curves that she had gained after their daughter's birth...
"Chinta mujhe Soha ki nahi, teri hai... Wo phir bhi apna dhyaan rakh legi, par kya tu rakhengi...?" Dev teased his mother... Dev has come a long way... It wasn't just his strictness that had brought his mother to normalcy after being so insecure, it was even Ishwari's efforts and Sonakshi's assurance that they do not need to get insecure of all these relationships... They after all "Complete" each other, not "Compete" with each other...
"Chal dhatt! Mazaak udaate sharam nahi aati tujhko apni maa ka?" Ishwari slapped Dev's back... "Tu jaa, aur Sonakshi ka achhe se dhyaan rakhna... Khoob mazey karna... Hum dono Dadi-poti khoob mazey karenge... Hain na Soha? Bye bol do apni maa aur papa ko..." Ishwari talked to her little grandchild, who though understood nothing, but giggled she did... A watery gurgle... Dev and Sonakshi kissed their baby and taking blessings from Ishwari off they went...
(HERE COMES THE BONUS FOR YOU GUYS)
Ye lamhe hazaar se,
Hote hain, rang pyaar ke...
Laakhon phool bahaar ke,
Hote hain, rang pyaar ke...
Dekhe hain dil jo milke, kabhi na mile...
Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi...
Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise bhi...
Choolhe pe phulke sa phoole,
Yaadein hawa mein jhoole...
Raat ko lori ban chupke se maathe ko choole...
Taanke hue shirt ke button sa,
Godh rakh soye bachpan sa...
Haath ki laali sa,
Kabhi lage dhaaga resham sa...
Pyaar mein lipte kitne rang mile,
Dekhe kabhi wo rang jo,
Kabhi na mile...
Kuch Rang pyaar ke aise bhi...
Dev kept looking at his side on the passenger seat... He was driving to the venue to the Award Function... Long drive that it was serving them as, Dev couldn't resist having a romantic moment with his dear wife...
"Dev! Saamne dekhiye... Mujhe aapko award lete hue dekhna hai..." Sonakshi patted his arm, asking him to concentrate on the road...
"Mera award toh tum ho... And I have taken you more than a year ago my dear wifey!" Dev was at his flirty best...
"Dev, hum award function ke liye jaa hi kyu rahe hain, jab aapko mujhe hi baith ke dekhna hai..." Sonakshi mocked frustration...
"Kyu? Tumhe mujhe dekhte rehne ka mann nahi karta?" Dev asked romantically.
"Nahin, subah shaam aapko, aapki beti ko, aur saari family ko hi toh dekhti rehti hoon... Mujhe nahi dekhna..." Sonakshi closed her eyes, and rested her head against the headrest, mocking her disinterest...
"Isliye kehta rehta hoon, seekh lo driving seekh lo... Kam se kam main toh jee bhar ke Tumko dekh paaunga... Par nahi... Bechaare pati ke pyaar ki koi value hi nahi hai..." Dev acted hurt...
"Awww... Dev!" Sonakshi kissed his cheek, and then immediately rubbed his cheek with the tissue... Her lipstick made a mark there, which she rubbed vigorously... "Par aap jaante hain, driving is one thing, I love depending on you... Mujhe achha lagta hai... Mujhe seekhne ki zaroorat hi nahi lagti..." Sonakshi rested her head on his shoulder...
"Tumhe aisi baatein tabhi kyu karni hoti hain, jab main drive kar raha hota hoon?" Deva asked.
"Haww! Khud romantic ho rahe they... Maine thode se emotional words kya bol diye, aapne toh saara ilzaam mere sar daal diya..." Sonakshi faked being hurt...
"Achha chalo, we are reaching the venue... We might be under media attention..." Dev informed...
----XXX---
"And the award for the Business Person of the Year goes to Mr. Dev Dixit..." the anchor for the evening announced... "And we would like Mrs. Sonakshi Dixit, his wife, to please give him away the award, since he has multiple times given you the credit for what he is today..."
Sonakshi walked up from below the stage, and gave away the award to her beloved husband...
Dev took to the podium, and spoke on the mike- "You all have seen me being the businessman of the year many times, and I have given my mother the credit everytime... But there came a time when there was nothing that this Dev Dixit has... The one who helped me, supported me, made me what I am, the credit goes to my wife Mrs. Sonakshi Dev Dixit... Miss. Bose, this one is for you..." Dev raised the trophy for her... And Sonakshi smiled as if she has won the world with the smile her husband held.
"It's time to dance before you all proceed for the dinner... We would really appreciate Mr and Mrs. Dixit to have the dance floor please, and grace the evening with a beautiful dance..." the anchor requested...
Dev had his Sonakshi, his one and only forever, in his arms, swooning in each other's arms in a romantic number... In their own beautiful world... Happy and content forever...
And the live telecast of the show was airing both at the Dixits and Boses households... Finally, all were happy and contend... Settled...
~~THANKS A TON FOR ALL THE LOVE~~
