The surprising (not!) bit was that Dev even spelled out Ishwari's insecurities driven behaviour when he said that baba Bose and her were talking nicely and that she sent Sona in to help with clothes.

Dev, you impress me. I am glad I am right that you know what is so wrong around you.

Frankly, IShwari's happiness is frightening. But I believe the Cvs are taking that route to fix the larger problems through this attitude of hers. Because the day she knows Sona is not pregnant/or she loses the foetus, will be the time Ishwari's other avatar will make a comeback in a fiercer way. But that will also be the time, the protector (for Sona) in Dev will finally and completely awaken. This will lead to the ultimate clash between the man who loves Sona like his own life and his beloved mother.

Whether we, as the more progressive women in our society like to accept or not, the fact remains that women, (especially when the woman is viewed through the lens that fixes her in the position of a daughter-in-law) are still held to certain expectations and their acceptance is based on those expectations. The way the in-laws view the daughter-in-law who has the ability to produce wonderful progeny is extremely different from the one who hasn't and can't. #RealityCheck

P.S - Motherhood changes a woman and motherhood changes her priorities but yes, as a woman, who has seen the world (that people like IShwari will never see), I know with great certainty that motherhood alone does not define a woman. But that is me...and qhite a few of us on the forum. But lets try and convince the traditionalists and all those women facing infertility problems that motherhood is not the be all and end all. It'll be in vain. The exact reason why Sona will be broken when she comes to know the news...

PPS - Did you notice how shocked Dev was to see his mother's behaviour with Sona? Doesn't it speak volumes about his awareness of his mother's unacceptance of Sona until now despite all his protests to the contrary earlier? Finally, Dev is allowed to merge from a the false cocoon he was wrapped in and I for one love that. Of course, now the Cvs have decided to dumb down Sona instead. It seems, CVs don't know how to create drama realistically without dumbing down characters.

From the time he confronted his mom when he was drunk we know that he was/is aware of Ishs insecurities. He just does not do anything about it & hopes it will go away one day. Probably this track is about him confronting her finally (hopefully).

Also Sona is what 26yrs old & a doc(?)! Even if ish got carried away she should have still home tested! Hopefully tomorrow there is a dialogue about a missed period or something to somewhat justify her actions.

Today there was so much of joy there is only one way to down!

Like I said there is only one brain going around. For now the male lead is in possession of it.

You are right about one brain going around and hence the leads need to use it alternatively😆

Dev's confrontation of his mother's insecurities is what this track is all about and prenup will be the ultimate nail in the coffin. The day he realizes what his mother did will be the day he will completely face the extent of his mother's insecutires and controlling nature in the guise of maternal instincts.

Preethi, do you think he recalls his deewangi state? In my imagination, he doesnt and thus keeps faltering so many times.

Lets see what the precap tomorrow brings. Atleast as of now, they seem to be celebrating very very prematurely

I would love to see Dev ask the sensible question (like he asked his friend Dr Bose - Heart ek Organ hota hai).! Or perhaps Asha asking Sonakshi something along the lines of when would the due date be

ha ha. Lets ask the script writer to use it

Sonakshi does indeed have the insane need to be accepted by Ishwari and You know why that is? Because she knows how important Ishwari is to Dev. And for Sona, making Dev happy is her ultimate gift to him. And Dev tries his best to make Sona happy too. His surprise, SRK pose and filmy dance is all for Sona coz he knows she loves romantic films and he goes out of his comfort zone to make her happy. I loved him and that scene for that reason. The awkwardness of SRk pose was so well done by Shaheer. It wasn't meant to be perfect. I love my DP too 😆

Coming back to Sona, the reason why she reveals in front of the family is - Ishwari tells her she wants to see Dev's face when Sona reveals her pregnancy news to Dev. And therefore Sona is compelled to speak in front of everyone. And Sona has also gotten carried away because despite all her efforts since her marraige to woo Ishwari and to become a part of Dixit family, it is only now, for the very first time, Ishwari is treating her like a daughter and not a daughter-in-law with whom she competes. Hence, it becomes an emotional moment and people often get carried away during those breakthrough emotional times.

While sonakshi wants to make Dev happy and like you said she even said that she wants to make it their family... she has always seemed validation from elders. She thrives in that appreciation. It was baba earlier and now Ishwari has joined the squad.

Definitely... and aside from those few weeks of brain matter loss we saw, dev has always been the types. Once he understood that a 16 lac watch isn't what sonakshi wants, he has started doing small things for her. I hope he continues to remain the sensible understanding husband and not go back to a cute puppy face bedroom partner they made him out to be.

Shaheer, as I said somewhere, more than Erica, is a director's actor. He just does as told and you can see him effortlessly deliver the script. In fact they supriya ji is the same.

While I overall agree... I still don't see the growth in sonakshi. When will she start seeing what is important for Dev. Like she did during HM cancellation. As the track progresses I am sure she will see Dev's pain too

Ishwari and her PDA towards her bahu - less said the better

It in-turn somewhat demeans Ishwari's character too.. so sad.. or it's an normal behavior?? 😔

Even me ... And I remembered the conversation between GKB and Eshwari abt Devakshi wants a baby after five years...

It's unreal how Ishwari keeps hurling her expectations at Dev and then claims to know her son too well. She makes him out to be invincible... my heart goes out to both Dev and sonakshi
