But for Sona, Dev would have been on deathbed. According to the doctor who said showering in cold water did the trick of bringing down the fever.

I experience fever in that range but I take crocin or get admitted to hospitals where they never give cold baths to bring down the fever.

Hope people dont practise what was shown on tv without taking their doctor's advice.

Sona was not there when Dev was growing up and it was Eashwari who tended him through illnesses and fevers in her own way. According to the above logic, Dev must have been dead during one of those treatments given by Eshwari. Because her methods were dangerous and wrong.

How come Dev is still alive?😆

She will take him to hospital if there is cut with knife...

Fever to dur ki baat hai...

Ishu ke 8 yrs old bacche ko chot nahi lagni chahiye...

Taking cold water bath actually luke warm water bath makes fever better, even doctors have told me, but still I don't . Normally I give cold sponge bath to my kids when they have fever. Normally, my cousin whose temperature didn't come down was given ice packs for few minutes. Any how I feel we should take doctor's concern, but sponge water bath is safe sometimes.

Ishwari /Sona also was not wrong, both are correct.

You are right we should not blindly follow what's shown in the television .It's always better to consult doctors .

I think this was the reason why Supriyaji was upset with the track .Usually mother's know how to care for their children and are very careful when looking after them .Every mother might not know about cold shower but atleast they know that bundling up during high fever is not recommended .

This is where Cvs went wrong .They could have shown Ishwari not knowing about cold shower as this is not the traditional approach followed in the household but showing her someone who doesn't know how to treat kids during fever was wrong.She has raised 4 kids while wotking day and night so they should give her some credit

As seen Ishwari was ready to take him to the hospital so in the past she would have done that .

Never heard about cold water bath. When my daughter used to have high temperature our doctor advised to dip the sponge in warm water and softly massage the body with it. But only once. That also along with Crocin .

Older people always believe in khara for fever,running nose etc. I never heard khara is dangerous to the extent that is shown in the Episode.l

But who will believe in old methods? Especially when Iswari used them to cure Dev? By all means Iswari should be proven wrong and foolish in front of her DIL. Purpose served.

This thought occured to me too. Logically speaking, if Ishwari has been taking care of Dev when he has fever all these years using the same methods and he has recovered every time, then it is stupid to show that these methods are suddenly not working. This just shows that it was another case of manufactured drama to pit MIL against DIL. If she has bundled him up in blankets all these years and his fever still reduced, then how come it suddenly becomes dangerous? (Its a different matter that bundling up a person during fever isnt recommended. Cool light cotton clothes and a light sheet to cover are recommended.) But the point here is that Ish has been doing it for years presumably for all the kids.

I dont know abt cold shower/bath but for kids my pediatrician tells me when fever is very high, making the child sit in a tub of tepid water immediately brings down the fever. I have done this for my child and it is effective.

Only in India, I have not seen this practice. but outside country, its a normal practice, if fever is not coming down tgen they will be given cold water bath and also made them to drink ice water.

How many have gone to check reason for fever?? in India hardly people try to get checked. fever means definitely some kind of infection. We just take paracetamol and leave it. We never treat for actual cause.
