Recently my daughter fell sick and she had 104 F. Doc told me not to cover her too much, to give room temperature water sponge bath and fluids like juice, electrolyte(nothing spicy) to drink.
She also told me that if it went beyond 105 to immediately bring her to hospital...

What Sonakshi did may very well save his life.

It is one way of bringing down high temperatures temporarily as your meds take effect coz bringing down the temp quickly is important to stop internal damage. Cold strips all over body also help.

I am not a doctor but growing up , I used to get high fever and the doctors told my parents to give me ice cold baths to bring the fever down immediately.
Ishwari is only used to one kind of fever that happens when you have exposure to cold weather and you get a throat infection first. In that case, you try to treat the throat infection with kadha but if the fever is very high you want to btpring down the fever first. I have had both types of fever so I know this first hand. Also, this was advised by MD/specialist level doctors in my childhood to my parents.

For high fevers we have to give the patient body bath with Lukewarm water. Keeping strips on the fore head will not be good enough because it will only bring down the temperature of that part. With lukewarm water the blood circulation increases and the body heat comes down quickly and that is very important. If he gets febrile convulsion ( like epilepsy but due to high temperature) we will have to get him to the hospital immediately. It is a concern in the case of small kids.
Disclaimer: I am not a doctor.😃

This small little extract is taken from WebMD.

""Many people find that taking a lukewarm [80F (27C) to 90F (32C)] shower or bath makes them feel better when they have a fever. Do not try to take a shower if you are dizzy or unsteady on your feet. Increase the water temperature if you start to shiver. Shivering is a sign that your body is trying to raise its temperature. Do not use rubbing alcohol, ice, or cold water to cool your body"'

So ultimately, Sona is right.. so here is what will happen..

Sona will give Dev a shower.. he will get chills.. a good sign.. but Ishwari will go beserk.. but at the end of the day, she will know that the shiver is a sign of recovery and not something to panic...

Hi, i am a doctor. Yes in case of high temperature 104, u have to mop the body with normal tap water neither cold nor warm water. Givin bath is also away to bring the body temperature down.
Shivering does not occur bcoz of bathing, it occurs its mechanism of the body to raise the temperature by muscle contraction which leads heat production and rise in temperature.
