Anyway it seems clearly it was not new for Dev to have after eating ice cream,. regarding soft drinks you can thaw it before having it.
Fair enough. I am not a doctor. So I will take your word for it. Then why Dev did not get this fever after their rain dance? He just had minor sneezes then. Also, if he has tonsillitis, then he can never eat any cold drinks ever, including scotch or whiskey on ice as he did on the night of Sona's date with Ritwik and engagement. How did he not get sick then?

children suffers from tonsillitis usually ,never heard a grown up man suffering from it but may be it happens (though i have never heard).

i suffered from tonsillitis when i was a kid,and yes.. after eating anything cold, that very night i use to develop fever... and it used to get so high that i used to faint and then would be rushed to the hospital.

Not only children but even adults can suffer from it if tonsillectomy was not done as a child.

Wouldn't it take at least some hours if not days for tonsillitis to turn into a high fever? They ate the icecream as the last course in the dinner and as soon as they came upstairs, Dev was burning with fever. It is more likely that he already had some virus or some other infection (malaria, dengue) that cause high fever.

Tonsillitis has a very sudden onset and short incubation period. Anyway it is a serial for drama, if the cvs want to show dengue, malaria it is their wish, it could be any viral disease too, it depends.
