Surprised to read this title from a self-proclaimed Feminist?

Don't be because a Feminist is never blind to any gender's faults.

Why did I say that women are fools?

Well, we are.

We are most of all Emotional Fools.

Because only an emotional fool would fall for same emotional mindgame over and over again despite being betrayed/lied/cheated by the same person before?

We are also Mental Fools.

We selectively delete the lies/betrayal/cheating of the people we love and keep hoping that what they did and got away unscathed won't be repeated again going against general human nature.

We are also generally a Fool.

Even dumbest of men think of their happiness, their comfort, their honour, their respect first.

We also think about their happiness, their comfort, their honour, their respect first. And no one else thinks about us.

Isn't it funny that we feel sorry and sympathy for men caught between his mother and wife when we feel absolutely nothing when the man asks a woman to choose him for the price of marriage and kids over her own family?

Why don't we feel sorry for that woman?

Everyone reaches for stars and moon and we settle for crumbs hoping they'd appreciate our undemanding nature and hand us our share of the pie unasked. That is fantasy, never reality.

We settle for pity, sympathy and kindness where we should only rest once we have our full respect, equal rights along with our dignity. We think if we become unassuming, undemanding, goody two shoes we will get love. But is that conditional love worth it? Will it sustain if we are having a bad day, when we have had enough, when our patience snaps?

We are the origin of life, yet our own life goes unclaimed, unlived because we are too busy living someone else's perception of our life. It's sad really that life, the most precious gift, once lost never comes back.

We are taught to be content with what we got and our brothers are taught to be ambituous and reach for the stars.

No wonder even after so many centuries of human civilization, women are still far away from their rights as equal to men...

Tia I absolutely don't believe in being duped by the same person again and again in the name of love. These two are taking her for granted and are downright jerks without any sign of a real remorse! I was very disappointed to see Dev feel happy about jhula's removal then his justification when his lie was caught at the closet fiasco but his efforts that Sona does not address Ishwari as aunty while he wants to address Asha as aunty is the ultimate evidence of their selfish and manipulative behavior . He never initiated to take Sona out after marriage and took solo decisions to cancel the HM and then the birthday dinner. Could he not tell Ishwari to postpone her poem recital for some time so he could get Sona himself? He stood her up and then did not even go himself to get her! Why should Sona live in their house as a second grade citizen who does not have any rights?

Precisely. You see some woman like you are not fools to be caught on the same trap over and over again. But then the moment you refuse to be fooled any longer or refuse to believe any more lies or refuse to forgive and forget, you are accused of being selfish and not being understanding.

What is so smart being understanding to someone unwilling to understand you in the first place?

Wonderful post Tia👏
This reminded me of one funny quote that we used to use
"God made woman beautiful and foolish
beautiful, that man might love her and
foolish, that she might love him"

I feel sorry for the women who are trapped in those kind of families. But not at all sorry for them when they take away another woman's rights, hurt another woman with taunt and insults and pull down another woman's dignity because they never got their own rights.

The funniest thing is that the same people bow down before Goddess Durga and Lakshmi and treat the women in their home like trash.

Let me modify this quote a bit...

"God made woman beautiful and foolish
beautiful, that man might love her without ever trying to find out about her wishes, hopes and dreams and
foolish, that she might love him giving up the same"

ah,ha! for once i have to disagree with you as it cannot be generalised. It may have been true, as a general rule, for a few generations ago, but in today's generation the whole paradigm is rapidly changing. The woman of today is far more street smart, far more wise, far more demanding... .. i am talking of the woman, who is educated and city bred. On the contrary i feel that today's men are fools.. i see that in my son.. a young man of 27 years and i see how he is taken for a ride by his many girl friends.. he is truly an emotional fool. I have seen a girl break his heart to the point of acute depression. i also see how my 31 year old daughter behaves with her husband.. i think my daughter is smarter overall and there are times i feel sad and bad for my son-in-law...

If we all follow the simple rule, irrespective of being a man or a woman, - do unto others what you would like others do unto you, it would bring about a radical change in society. One would really not have to get into being a feminist or a male chauvinist or the like..

There was a quote in one of my favourite musical by Tagore. The name of the play is, "Chitrangada".

It was a story of Arjun and Chitrangada, the warrior princess of Manipur.

She fell in love with Arjun but Arjun didn't want a warrior princess. So with the help of God, she transformed herself to a beautiful womanly woman.

Arjun got mesmerized and fell in love with her.

But she realized that the person he loves is not real. That is not her.

So she went back to her true self and told Arjun,

Translation:

I am Chitrangada, daughter of a King
I am not a Goddess but not an ordinary woman either.

The one you worship and put on a pedestal,
I am not she...

The one you take for granted and leave beneath you,
I am not she...

If you keep me beside you,
In richer and in poorer times...

If you ask me to be your partner,
In your goal and ambition...

Then you'll be able to understand me...

That's what I want to say.

I am Chitrangada, daughter of a King...

We are just blind in love. For parents, for husband, boyfriend, brothers...but ourselves. That's our biggest sin. we are so blind that we don't even realise when we sell pieces of ourselves for so called loved ones.

And to think that it's the very same thing which is expected from us again and again . . . Sabke liye socho bas khudko chor ke. Guess compromising comes easier than actually taking a stand and raising voice. That takes too much courage, and of course there is people whispering behuda ladki ko tameez nahi hai
