Apart from the problem of Dev's absolute ZERO learning curve, there are more problems with his lying, chauvinism and zero lack of willingness to learn those as well, Sona has learnt how to make a dough (if we ignore all her other efforts), what did Dev learn after he was in relationship with Sona except for lying and avoiding and shouting at her to hide his failures ?

Going by that logic people who eat food everyday should learn how to cook as well .Will she just eat dough everyday .I have never seen her cook daily so does it mean she doesn't have food everyday? Its not just Dev even Sona wears all kinds of clothes yet she is not able to wash her own clothes .I did not say this but her dear Baba once told Ritwick family .Taking help or delegating work is not some crime .Everyone does it .More than 50% of Indians hire maid to get their work done

Coming to lying let's not forget that Sona is doing the same ..she has list of things she has hidden from Dev .She wants to interfere in Neha's issue but she won't involve her husband in her family matters .if he was chauvinist then we would not have seen encouraged her to purse her career and there are many more which proves he is not .

Yes Nitu, what you have said is true. But when Dev's blazers became dirty she washed and Ironed it for him even though she was not doing it at home. Isn't that what being independent means. Where as Dev had to go to his mother to wash it and iron it for him. That was her motive behind asking him to do his own work. But now it is all blown out of proportion.😆

The biggest thing that she is for dev even tgough it is inconvenient for her is to come and stay with him in dixit house and bear all the taunts... As she knows dev loves his family and she did not ask him to move out with her unlike neha...

All the small small noble deeds you thibk dev did for sona are nothing infront of this... He couldnt even bear the one childhood dream she brought ro their room ... He agreed to call asha aunty even thought ishwari did not force him... I have a ling list of thibgs that sona does .. Will add them later

Also applying medicine etc is something anyone would do.. Sona took care of him when he was fainting with fever.:. Also Sona took care of natasha when she was hurt ... So it is no big deal seriously

I still want to hear from you that very few things you think dev did wven though they are inconvinient to him but meant world to sona..(pls dont say marrying her inspite of her infertility - that is the most selfish thing dev did.. He should have just told sona about it ... All i can do for this act of him is to forgive him.. Cant count as noble deed as he figured he cant live with out sona he did it so that she doesnt leave him m when ahe gets to know this)

I don't agree with your thought process .She married him because she wanted to be with him not some kind of favour on him .If marrying is a favour then Dev returned that favour back by marrying her .Its not favour that she is staying with his family ,it's her choice not some kind of compulsion .I have already addressed the taunting part I in my previous post so I don't want to repeat it again .Her mother is taking care of her MIL and her father .So is it some kind of favour ?

All his good deeds should not be counted .Thats the reason I avoid saying anything about him ..Like I said in my previous post no matter what I say about him there would oh he did not do a favour ,it's his duty etc .

I would not have said this but since you brought this staying with his family as some favour then I would like to say if she is alive today is because of Dev .I know what would come next oh it's humanity ...

Sure I will be glad to read your list on what Sona's favours .

you got it wrong... .She married him because she wanted to be with him -- that is not a favor... just like Dev married sona because he wanted to be with her... But Sona left all her family and all her past and moved to Dev's house... that is a very big inconvinience .. she did it for Dev and to be with him and for their marriage...

If they had been living separately then i would say it is a balance... here sona left everything for Dev and dev's basic duty is to make sure she is comfortable in that house -- which he failed to do ... not only because his family couldnt adjust to sona's presence but because even when it is inconvinient to him , even he did not appreciate Sona's wishes or choices...

taking care of MIL is not a favor... it is a responsibility ... respecting the DIL of the house is not a favor .,,, it is a right... when a family fails to do the later then they dont deserve the prior... but here sona is respecting dev's family even though they just treat her like shit... --- So yes Sona is doing a favor

On the other hand... Asha gives respect and love to Dev and in return he should give respect to her... which he failed... so yes he is a failure... lets not kid ourselves here

so you think so low of Dev that, you have to rely on his incident where he saved sona's life as his favor... He would have done that for anyone. that is humanity and not love for his GF. he didnt even love her at that time... Here we are talking about the inconveniences that Dev and Sona had to bear to stay with the other.

as of now ... i see None from Dev... Sona is the one trying to adjust and navigate thru the issues and keeping the marriage together...

I ask you again give me one incident that Dev did something for Sona even though it was inconvenient for him or his family...

According to me yes one should. One should learn to do these basic chores which Sona learnt after marriage. Neither she shied away, nor she was willing to resort to Ishwari's lies during Dadi Bua's cooking track 😃 in fact she was in tears after that lie. That makes her a far far better person.

Dev succumbed to Ishwari's lies and happily carried it forward taking all the false praises from her with no conscience. He wasnt forced by anyone just a point 😕

There are some skills like driving, swimming, kayaking, plumbing or electricity etc which do not impact day to day life to parameterize dependency (in fact knowing a bit of the last 2 is also sometimes necessary) but there are certain things like basic cooking, doing laundry, doing wardrobes, doing accounts/finance management, knowing some basic informations on the household rationing, doing buttons of the shirts if broken etc are mandatory for one to become self independent. When one starts living outside parents' home for job or after marriage (either case) these are the one which defines the level of their struggles, irrespective of the class or gender. If Dev goes bankrupt and Ishwari dies of heart attack knowing the bankrupcy who will fold Dev's hanky ? I am asking this cuz any girl would leave this guy in a split of second (wont marry in the first place 😆 ) then what would Dev do 😕 😆 Would he stop wearing clothes ? Knowing Sona, in a similar situation she would learn very fast and succeed and wont argue on the gender of the type of the job 😳 😆 Hope you see the difference 😃

P.S - There are many women around the forum who were taught all these by their hubbies 😃 We didnt shy away not because after teaching these our hubbies would delegate their part of job to us but because you never know what turn life will take and when you need all these skills to survive alone in the world 😃
