Firstly a big round of applause to the entire cast and crew of KRPKAB for this magical episodic week which brought back the original charm of the serial and left me craving for more.👏 Absolutely phenomenal episodes , completely hatke and unique !! Each episode is worth tons of discussions and dissections, I am really appalled whether I can justify them in this single post but will still try to cover my thought process short and crisp but please bear with me if the post gets unbearably long. I am trying to explore each character from their POV without judging them and hence feel free to point out the discrepancies for healthy discussions.
Sona:
Sona have entered a family with people full of broken souls about which she had minimum knowledge about. Though she knew her path of becoming a Dixit is tough between these cracked hearts, she is determined to find her way with her patience and her belief in Love which she believes as her biggest strength. She came from a happy Bose family and its quite natural she wishes the same for Neha and other Dixits too, because she knew what little understanding and care can give a person back! It doesn't matter what other members think about her or whether they deserve her attention but Sona have accepted "Dixit family" as her own from the moment she fell in love with Dev and when a problem visually disturbs her chirpy husband who become restless and sleepless and his mom in tears (whom she have accepted as her own too), a mature wife and DIL do try to comfort them and Sona did the exact same thing!! Since Sona have seen the intensity of Neha's love for Ranveer when she declared it in front of whole house, its quite natural for Sona to try to find out if those are all just infatuation or genuine which lead to that wonderful Sona- Neha conversation !! And she was correct in guessing because she knew " the person whom you love the most will hurt you the most" she has already seen this from Dev and now she cannot let the same happen to Neha !! Coming from a family of comfortness, Sona believes any problem can be solved by families opening up and when she couldn't make Ishwari or Dev understand her point, she took the initiative and met Ranveer's Bhabhi because she knew divorce will never lead to anyone's happiness as this decision was taken with anger and ego clouded minds ! After marriage, Sona is witnessing a mature changing Dev who understands her POV without even her justifying, who is standing by her side willing to set Neha's life straight, who is learning the act of balancing the family , who is also growing as a responsible SIL and as a protective husband. The least she would expect from Dev after all this transformation is "He snatching the livelihood of someone in such ruthless manner", naturally the girl tend to get shocked !! She might have witnessed this Dev before marriage but certainly not now when he vows to become a better man and working towards it and hence the reaction of disbelief from Sona!!
Dev:
Dev is just a delightful flawed character who have shown some amazing growth after marriage even to my surprise !! Dev loves his mother, family and wife equally with the only difference being everyone needing Dev for their comfort but the only comfort he wish to have all for himself is his lovely wife "Sona". As I mentioned before, Dev tries to keep Sona far away from the haunted past because he wants to built a memorable future by living the blissful present and hence the reason for asking her to stay away from Neha's problem and not because he consider her as an outsider. But when Sona opens up her feelings how she feels left out without knowing the past and thats the reason for the mishaps she created unknowingly, Dev realizes that the same hidden past is tearing up his lovely wife. So he decides to open up a bit slowly ( Diwali past) wishing to be replaced by the beautiful memories of present. Its quite obvious Dev desperately wants to move forward from the clutching past with the help of his wife and thats the reason for his idea of Diwali gifts and see a happy smiling family erasing the bad memories of needy past. It was also a way to bring back smiles on his wife's face who is standing by his side thick and skin. Dev is always known to get what he wanted irrespective of the rightful ways, hence the phone calls to Ranveer at ungodly hours and his angered visit. Dev who expected a mellowed Ranveer was in for a shock to see another Dev Dixit who answered all guns blazing only to awaken "THE ORIGINAL DEV DIXIT'S EGO" who speaks the language of businessman and hence the outburst of answering with lawyer ! It raised when Ranveer came insulting his entire family including his wife under his own roof but raised to roof top when he gets the "harassment complaint on Neha". When his family's respect which he guarded his whole life becomes questionable, when the one man he entrusted his sister 's happiness becomes the reason for her tears, every right and wrong goes for a toss and he couldn't see a BIL or his family anymore there..all he saw was a man masked with ego in the name of self-respect and in Dev's book he need to be taught a lesson and hits Ranveer where it hurts the most !!
Neha:
Neha is one of my most beloved unique character in the serial and am so glad CVs brought her to the limelight and revolving the story around her !! I just wished we got to see some more scenes of Neha in Ranveer's house to comprehend her state of mind completely because now I cannot help but empathize with Neha making Ranveer look totally insensitive. All we saw was Neha sacrificing her materialistic needs to marry Ranveer, sacrificing her first night for kid's happiness, sacrificing her wish for individual flat for MIL's health, trying to maintain her husband's respect in Sona's "mooh dikhayi" and we never got to see what made Neha pissed off so much that she went for divorce directly. Just like Dev, Neha is trapped with the disgusting past which keeps taunting her whenever she tries to move forward because IMO Neha doesn't wish for any materialistic needs which she is unaware of yet. From the episodes its clear , she looks for that small happiness of eating "Golgappas", her delight on seeing the talking doll is more than seeing those costly bracelet, her loneliness on seeing a happy Devakshi, her abandonment on seeing a happy MIL-DIL lighting diyas indicate those costly items are Neha's desperate mirage to erase the past but she only wants these small happiness to build the future but unfortunately nobody could see that because of the self-inflicted painful past wall she built around her. Neha is being seen as a girl with an high ego but no one realized her silent plea for crushing that wall and take her to that happiness she is craving and all those "am not interested " scenarios are her indirect inaudible plea for help and attention!! Neha chose that first happiness (Ranveer) with the trust that his sole love can demolish her scar of sacrifices but they only deepened when the reality striked with the fact she is in for more sacrifices in exchange of that love !! Hence the anger, irritation, frustration but am sure she will be melted at the first instance of danger to Ranveer (precap hinting ?!!) because no matter what Ranveer is her first source of true care and happiness in her life !!
Ranveer:
So this week episodes proved Ranveer is not a male version of Sona but a mellowed version of middle class Dev Dixit !! Again we haven't seen what torture Neha did to him to piss him off but only saw a caring Ranveer trying to make his wife happy but failing in all circumstances , a self -respect battered Ranveer when his wife gifted those costly items given by her family and a helpless Ranveer questioning Neha's "mooh -dikhayi" gift without his knowledge. He did try to have a conversation multiple times with Neha after her return to maiyyka only to get blatantly ignored and shown the ultimatum in the form of divorce. When an already fuming husband is oil-poured by her brother insulting his house and family, his self esteem tend to get inflamed uncontrollably and hence his outburst to Dev. An anger clouded mind peppered with ego is never a place for sane thinking and hence his outburst on Sona's visit under Dev's roof followed by the "harassment complaint " which is a total out of character behavior from Ranveer. Guess dixit's family tradition of being haphazard has rubbed off Ranveer too from his togetherness from Neha :)
Ishwari:
Looking only this week's episodes, I felt Ishwari's feelings for Neha were genuine and beautifully portaryed with the consistency of her insecurity towards Sona !! Ishwarti is deeply affected with the fact that her satisfaction of making Neha happy by giving Ranveer has become her epic failure after seeing her daughter's tears. Her dissipated guilt from Neha's marriage have returned back with interest with not just an unhappy Neha but a questionable future in the laughing society's eyes because no matter what its always a girl's fault in a broken relationship and it always expects a girl to bow down and sacrifice (her exact words from the episodes reflected her feelings too ). For her, to erase that guilt and to keep Neha happy from hereon can be achieved only by giving what she wants..the divorce !! Ishwari never understood any of her kids deep down as she is shown only there superficial pains and needs and no wonder she thought Neha will remain happy if she stays by her side and pampers. Ishwari's intentions were genuine but her methods are flawed when it comes to Neha !! Except for that "mirror taunt dialog during Diwali", I found Ishwari's behavior towards Devakshi too in -character. Her concern to Sona's burn is genuine as well. Looks like Ishwari is slowly starting to realize that grip on her son is loosening and she needs to take a step back. Neha's life is drawn as a beautiful parallel by the CVs to open Ishwari's eyes towards her insecurities towards Devakshi !!
Beautiful symbolisms:
* Devakshi lighting diyas together indicating every problem will be handled by them together and to be saved by Sonakshi when Dev screws up and in trouble !
* Prince charming feeding parathas indicating with Dev's consistent care,love and trust , Sona gets stronger and stronger to handle the curveballs life throws at her !
* Sona getting burnt by crackers thrown by Dev indicating knowing or unknowing Sona can be given pain/hurt and also its cure/remedy only by Dev !
Some blissful moments which brought big smiles:
* Bose family accepting Sona's cheque making her an equal entity of the family even after marriage . Kudos CVs for this forward thinking !!
* Every Devaksh hugs especially those understanding hugs from Dev to shaken Sona and the first public hug by elated Sona !!
* That guilt stricken Dev who comes to soothe his sleeping wife only to be embraced by her in his lap !!
* That genuinely concerned GKB caring Sona's burnt leg !!
* Proud Mamaji and Dev acknowledging Sona's understanding towards their family !!
* A rare unity scene of Ishwari and Sona when both defended Dev to Ranveer's bhabhi !!
* That helpless nanand taking the shoulder of her bhabhi for her tears !!
* That naughty version Dev playing with his wife's legs in the pretense of applying ointment (btw did you all noticed how Sona's legs were blurred in that scene..am amazed with the amount of care the phs are taking to maintain dignity in the show!)
* That moment of proud Bijoy wearing his daughter's gifts !!
* That moment when Dev gifts even Keechu bhaiyya !! and many more😳😆
Maybes:
Vicky- Elena story can be irritating to watch but with the CVs reputation of showing no vulgarity and manhandling, even though I don't wish I am sensing a changed Vicky falling for Elena in real with Elena sensing Vicky's old intentions and stepping back, a track opened to straighten up his and his Mom's tails ?!
To sum it all, this whole week's episodes are nothing short of viewer's delight, a well blended balance of understanding Devakshi with some genuine family crisis !!
