Dev glared angrily at the girl in front of him. He couldn't see her face properly as half her face was covered with her hair falling over her eyes as she looked down at her belongings. He was waiting for her to look up at him so that he could give her an earful for not paying attention while walking but the moment she looked up at him, she seemed to have frozen in position.

Without paying much attention to her frozen state, he yelled right back at her, "Aap beech rastey mein statue ki tarah khari rehengi toh aney jane walo se toh takraingey hi! Ulta aap mujhpar dosh daal rahi hai." When she didn't react angrily like he expected her to, he took a step back to properly see her for the first time. Under the partial light of the lamp post beside them he could see her face now. As he scrutinised her, two wide eyes stared back at him.

Something about this posture seemed familiar to him and he suddenly realised that he had seen her before. As he went through his memories, he remembered. This was the girl he saw that morning. That crazy scooty girl. His eyes softened and he converted his angry expression into a neutral one. Under soft light of the lamp post, he could see that she was very pretty. While Dev carried on his scrutiny, Sonakshi snapped back to reality.

She had been totally carried away by this man's attractiveness yet again, but she hated being yelled at when she wasn't at fault. She was innocent, according to her own judgement. So no matter how attractive he was, she would not let him pass. So she replied fiercely "Excuse me. Mein beech raste me nahin thi. Itney bade rastey mein aapko agar yahin se jana that toh ismey meri galti kahan?" Dev was so busy looking at her that this reply came as a shock to him. He thought "Abhi toh bhoot ki tarah khari thi. Achanak isey ho kya jata hai? Subah bhi aise hi stare kar rahi thi? Ab badi josh aa gayi hai?" But he didn't let her know that he had recognized her.

He just kept his face expressionless and replied " Dekhiye, mere paas inn faltu baton ke liye time nahi hain. Apka toh nahi pata, par mujhey aur bhi bohot kaam hai. Isliye apna saman uthaiye and jahan jaa rahi thi wahan jaiye." Saying that he side stepped her and arrogantly walked away towards the medicine shop. Sonakshi just gaped at him! "How rude." She thought. "Hello, Mr. Obhodro, apne aapko samjhtey kya hai aap?" but by the time she yelled this out he had disappeared among the crowd of people in front of the shop.

Sona kicked the ground and bent down to pick up her belongings. So good looking, but so arrogant. She couldn't believe her luck. In her entire life she hadn't found someone so interesting and now the guy she found interesting was the epitome of arrogance. She nodded her head in frustration and sat on her scooty. "Mere saath hi aisa hota hai" she said to herself softly. But even after all this, she realized that her heart had been beating wildly all this time and her cheeks had become warm. Why was he having such an effect on her? She decided to figure it out after she reached home.

As Sonakshi made her way out of the parking lot Dev walked out of the shop with a packet of medicines and watched her go. He made his way to his car and got in. He was deep in thought throughout his ride home. There was something about this girl that made him feel different. Maybe it was the fact that nobody had the audacity to talk back to him like that before today. But this crazy scooty girl had most definitely caught his attention and he didn't know why. As he entered Ishwari Niwas, he decided to not think about her anymore. He had other important things to do.

But things never happen the way people want them to, do they?

As he entered the house, Ishwari came towards him " Arey Dev beta, aa gaya tu. Chal khana khaley. Kaafi raat ho gayi." He touched her feet and nodded his head and also let his mother drag him to the dinner table. While his mother kept talking about God knows what, Dev just kept seeing the image of the girl under the light of the lamp post. He was so lost in thought that he didn't know what he was doing and while swallowing, a piece of Chapati got lodged in his throat and he started coughing and sputtering and snapped back to reality.

"Kya hogaya beta tujhey? Dhyaan kahan hai tera. Theek se khana kha" Ishwari asked concerned while patting Dev's back and offering him a glass of water. Dev gulped down the water and sighed in relief. "Kuch nahin ma. Ho gaya mera khana. Ja so jaa tu. Subah baat kartein hai. Thak gaya hoon thoda." Saying this he got up, hugged his mother and practically raced up the stairs to his room. The moment he reached the room, he closed the door and sat on his bed. "Kya ho raha hai yeh. Ek normal si ladki ko dekhkar aise ajeeb harkatey kyun kar raha hoon mein? Aur who bhi ek pagal ladki jisey pata bhi nahi who kar kya rahi hai." He was confused as to why he felt this way. He tried to forget her, but tossed and turned all night, seeing her face every time he closed his eyes. Frustrated that his sleep got destroyed because of such a silly reason, Dev woke up early and went straight to work to keep his mind off everything else.

Working at a stretch since Seven in the morning, he was so immersed in reading an important file that he didn't notice his secretary Tina enter the office with a paper in her hand. So when she called out "Sir" he jumped a little. He looked up and blinked at her to focus properly. "Haan Tina, bolo."

"Who sir aapney Dr.Sinha se khehelwakar jis Nutritionist ko hire karwaya hai for all the employees of this company, I have asked her to come at 11, aapsey milney." Tina said confidently. Dev nodded his head in affirmation. "Theek hai Tina. Jabhi who ayein, send her straight to my cabin." Satisfied with this information Tina left the room.

Dev stretched his arms and legs and sat back on his chair. Thank God he came to work. He could keep his mind busy now. He thought "Aise hi ek ke baad ek kaam atey rahey toh I won't have to think about altu faltu people."

But little did he know that this was just the beginning to all his problems because there were just 15 minutes left for the clock to strike 11!
