CVs, stop making caricature of culture for the sake of creating drama.
When you show a culture, at least research about it.

Or you can read my post on Bengali Wedding.

Link: http://www.india-forums.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=4722379

First of all, in Bengali Culture, Tatwa (the gifts that comes from the bride and groom's side) is NOT sent by event management company EVER!!!

This is how Tatwa looks like. Notice the number on them in little white circles? Those numbers are noted in the Tatwa Suchi which is a booklet that has list of those items and who it belongs too,

Ex. Gift for Mum-in-Law, Gift for Dad-In-Law, Groom's Suit, Bride's Salwar, Honeymoon Package (that would be lingerie like nightgown for bride and groom), Groom's Shoes, Bride's Shoes etc.

Either all family member themselves prepare them staying up all night or even if they hire people to prepare Tatwa, family members include HAND-WRITTEN notes on the booklet with numbers on the trays so that they can itemise which tray is going to whom.

That way a married cousin's saree with sindoor and matching bangles doesn't go to a widowed aunt or the bride's salwar suit doesn't get handed to groom's cousin.

For example, when Konkona Sen got married to Ranveer Shorey, renowned National Award Winning director Ritupo*no Ghosh wrote her little booklet with his poems.

Not every one is that talented. But people still write their own message.

Also, it's not possible for an event company to send the fish at any point because the fish is personally bought by bride's father (for groom's family) and groom's father (for bride's family) to be sent to each other and the bride's mother and the groom's mother decorate their respective fish with saree, ornament and jewellery before putting it on the tray.

There's no way, Asha would have decorated a fish when she knows very well that Dev's family is vegetarian considering she was the one who didn't want any non-veg food in the wedding.

Then where would any event management company get the fish and send it?

Next point is what is the big deal about fish? It's not fish curry, it's a fish. Vegetarian people have fish in aquarium in their home. Sometimes those fish die in aquarium. I have never seen such a big issue to throw out the dead fish then.

This particular fish that comes in Tatwa is handed over to poor people so that they get to have some food (At least that's what we do in our family). It's not for the family's consumption.

Fish came in, hand it over to whichever poor person you see outside. What's the big deal? It's in a tray, wrapped in cellophane. No need to even touch it yourself.

If a chicken walked into your premises and died by your car, would you create as much of a big deal or just deal with it? Just because there is a dead chicken, doesn't mean you have to eat it.

I just don't get all these issues which is being created for the sake of drama and making Bengali culture into a caricature...

Precisely. Who bought the fish and who decorated it? No event company I know, even in Kolkata who does that. They may decorate the tatwa, but even the tags and tatwa suchi is prepared by the family member. We always stay up whole night to prepare tatwa. That's the fun time and according to me one of the best time of the wedding.

And it's not like Bijoy Bose is so wealthy that he can afford to pay Rs. 500 starting per tray including the gifts.

I dont think they have done enough research on many other topics too...Including the prenup and fertility ...there are too many flaws and not possible things shown. But what to do...serial hai..TRP is required for sustenance and commercial point of view...ppl like drama and so following the trend blindly !! We feel bad because we have so much expectation from this show...to see that our show is moving into the same class of predictable drama series is kind of heart breaking...

Like Dr. addressing Mr. Rishi..I think it was purposefully done so that we keep guessing if she is actually suffering from it or not...I was wondering there would be a lot of women in the world who wants to be a mom and cant be one...and when they see this track..and this kind of mistake made by Dr...trust in medical practitioner will be questioned. And then saying she suffering from inhospitable uterus from childhood...is it a joke...you think ppl will come to know only when she is 20 plus...what abt the stage when she achieves her puberty ...wouldnt it be seen then...of course there will be symptoms...so again wrong information given to public...

Gynecologist or any Dr. for that matter wont make a mistake like this...especially Gynecs..they will know their patients and families like the back of their hands...so I wasnt happy with that entire scene..anyways..Cant Help 😭
That Prenup is a JOKE ...dont even want to waste my time writing abt it ...😡

Culture , religion , infertility etc are very sensitive topics . They should be handled with so much of care and above all with great responsibility . If they cant then dont even touch base that one is what I believe.

Very true. I mean you need both bride and groom's signature on pre-nup plus witness. Just Dev's signature won't do. Infertility is a sensitive issue and even that is being taken lightly.

Drama is all right, but remember the old episodes? Remember when Radha asked if Sona did any "Totka" and Sona's bewildered response, "Topka"?

Those had drama but very logical and funny as well. This is forcefully created drama like every other show.

I believe that everyone has their right to eat what they want. But what I don't understand is that if dust bothers you, would you wrap the world in mask or wear a mask yourself? What is the easiest solution? if a particular smell bothers you or you are allergic to something (like strawberry or peanut), then you should be careful around it, that's your right. But forcing everyone else to give up their food or banning strawberry or peanut from the entire world because you are allergic to it is not the solution, that's not your right.

Personal freedom and choices should be given to everyone. I don't want any non-vegetarian person ever to make fun of vegetarian or vegan people or force them to go hungry because there is not a single vegetarian item available. I have been to restaurants in Canada where my aunt (she is non-vegetarian except on Tuesdays she eats pure veg), asked for a salad which was listed as only vegetarian entree (everything had shrimp or chicken or other meat). They brought the salad but it had egg. My poor aunt could not explain to them that egg is not vegetarian. So I had to tell them to bring only salad with cheese on it.

Unfortunately, people tend to force their choices on others. I find it offensive and not to mention against someone's personal rights and freedom of choice.
