So true. The CVs have literally taken Shakespeare's famous quote to heart...

"Oh, what a tangled web we weave, when we first learn to deceive"...

Unfortunately it gets harder and harder to get out of a tangled web as we keep adding threads to it until we don't realise how we have trapped ourselves and have not left a way out.

Better to share the truth asap and deal with it together than postpone it and risk causing even more pain to Sona and make her trust waver. Also why live in guilt and suffer the pain when you can be each other's support systems, lessen each other's pain and sail through the difficulties together.Of course he would need to be her strength when she can't be strong herself, but he will be in a far better position to help her than he can when he is hiding the truth.

Cvs have a lot of matter for drama now:
1. Bua with rigid age old beliefs and potential to cause a lot of drama- Check
2. Cultural differences drama(Food/Dress/Fish given(segments))- Check
3. Unresolved Pre-nup issue with lots of drama potential- Check
4. Infertility hidden with lots of drama potential- Check

One can only handle so much drama and negativity if it accompanied by a greater degree of positivity(Hopefully Bose family and Dev- Sona would be able to provide that to us)

Apt quote. But this quote is actually by Walter Scott.

@Sajnifaby
Hugs to you for what you are going thru. Believe me this too shall pass. I am a very strong believer of this.

This is what I meant with the creatives just showing real life problems..that too sensitive ones with so little compassion. To me that is not what a responsible media should do if they cannot show it with the sensitivity it deserves why show it all? The better option if they wanted to show it could have been after Dev and Sona were married and how they want to have a baby and find out Sona's problem and how they deal with it this way they can showcase the love and support between the two and also show some drama..but alas!

This post has got nothing to do with White Knight but something I was thinking about! Yes I do still think after I stopped watching this show
Another post in this forum made me think about this and i felt comfortable voicing it here..hope you dont mind @Tiao

Grandchildren- I know most of you are too young to even think about this and we are talking about children here but please hear my train of thought.

Disclaimer: This is just my thought- have to always put this one now!

This show started with Neha who did not want children and that was her condition for her marriage- the one which broke

Dev at that time was even willing to give then groom to be a ton of money but the marriage broke

Easwari came to know of the reason of Neha's but I do not remember her worrying about it much or advise Neha about it- Correct me if I am wrong it has been too long

Dev and Sona want children but Sona cannot have children.

Easwari atleast in the flashback and now seems to want Dev's child i.e her grandchild

My question is we know Easwari always was partial towards Dev
  • Does it extend to Grandkids too.. Would Dev's kids have more value than Neha's ?
  • Arent children ( grand too) children whether they are from your son or daughter?
  • Will the CV's close the loop by showing Neha the surrogate to Dev and Sona's child so the grandchild though Dev was borne by Neha?

I know too much imagination but I was curious as to does the gender bias apply also to grandchildren?. I think I know the answer to this one but just wanted to know thoughts?

Tia , thats a funny term you have given for your husband's behaviour 😆 . I have expressed my view about Dev hiding it from Sona in another post , and just retyping it here . Its true that love make us strong but it's our weakness too ... Sometimes we would rather keep quiet and suffer by ourselves than ruin the moment of happiness of our loved ones ...

Now this is applicable for most of normal human beings , but "white knight complex" you have described for Dev didnt come overnight ... From the childhood he was led to believe that he is the sole person responsible for his mom n family's happiness , he is their only hope . He was always the "white knight" , he never knew any other way to be, even when he broke up with Sona , as heart breaking as it was, he believed , he could go through with it all alone , but thats the first time he misjudged himself as we all saw how he lost himself during that time . So we cant expect him to change overnight , can we ?

And now from the crazy , dramatic(funny?) imaginations of Dev about the reactions of the ladies in his life , one thing was evident in both - His haunting nightmare of a life without Sona . Yes he is dreaded of the possibility of another separation from Sona than his pain or torture ... It doesnt matter if he talks right away or not ,the fact that he decided to talk and convince Ishwari proves that its a mind over matter for him , nothing is a deal breaker for him now regarding his relationship with Sona . He very well know he had to talk to both Sona and Ishwari , but he may keep it to himself for the time being for their sake ...

As its a mind over matter for him , nothing changes the fact that he would get married to Sona . It may hurt her and Ishwari later that he had hidden this from them . But he also believe he could convince them later and earn their forgiveness, after all he got it even after leaving Sona, so now this lie by omission is only for their happiness . ( Still if it was a serious health condition where she had to take treatment from the next day , it would be unfair to keep it from all of them, but in this case its not)

And suppose as you said he come clean about it now , that only means spoiling the mood of the love of his life , whom he promised to give the whole happiness in the world , and the families who are currently so excited and on cloud nine with regards to their marriage . Even if they sort out the issue and decide to get married , it wont be the same as now . So years later when they look back at the dream wedding they hoped for , the memories would only leave a bitter taste ... Its just a matter of time .. There is nothing wrong in being considerate of of others feelings n happiness , after all the show is about the different shades of love and it spreads love ... Lets be a little bit more optimistic and not be over critical about each and everything and jump in with our loaded guns even before it actually happens ... I read a quote today , which I really liked

- "Promote what you love instead of bashing what you hate" ... 👍🏼

@Desigirl
Thanks for your post. You have a strong case to why Dev is not telling Sona about her health condition. I can buy that but what I am still not able to buy are:

Why tell his Mother first?. not sure if he will but just the thought of him thinking of doing so. shocks me As a woman the mere thought that my husband would discuss one of the most personal things between a Man and a woman to his mom is a severe No- No

and an even bigger question why was this track even needed now..as it puts a severe damper on the beautiful ceremonies why cannot the CV's show positivity?. Didnt they promise a smile when we watch this show?

Thanks dear ... I was also hoping for a peaceful happy wedding after the emotionally draining break-up track .. Who knows whats running in the complex mind of Dev Dixit (alias Durjoy and Rakhuvir) .Now that Ishwari had accepted Sona (God knows?) for Dev , they may need a strong reason in the future ( just like Ish being hospitalised , causing Dev to take the decision of leaving Sona in the fear of losing his mother) to change the equation between Ish-Sona as just her insecurities wont be enough for it , may be thats the reason they introduced this track but I dont have any idea why they introduced it so early , it may be for redemption of Dev , this may change baba's outlook towards him , this is the only thing that make sense .

great post. in a hurry so won't be able to comment on everything. but isn't the new proposed bill in India means that in real, Devakshi can't think of surrogacy until 5 years of their marriage or until a female relative is willing to be the surrogate mom.
can't think of the CVs picking up a real life topic and having a mature discussion on the pros and cons. I'll be glad if they do so. There can be a great track later of DevAkshi deciding to adopt a child instead of bringing in a new one and the narrow-minded characters of the show having lots of issues with it.
