Good point. Not to mention, the mentality that a single woman means easy pickings.

Oh don't you know(no I am not stealing your words Tia, this is really what came to my mind😆)a woman's life is incomplete without a husband. How will she manage to survive on her own?And how will she snare an eligible bachelor at old age ?And the other reason has been covered by Tia.

Btw, where was this sarcasm hidden @gemini54? I am loving it!

I hope he says sorry. But two things that is not digesting to my system.

1. After finalizing everything , what was the point for him to show up? Is it so that Bose family can remember their son in law's face? Otherwise they might think Sona is getting married to Ishwari. Yeh Hindi movie ki police ki tarah end mein na bhi aate to kya jaata?

2. The precap is not giving me much hope. He is there again to ask for something because mummy said so. When everything was done by mummy, let her do all the talking. Why did you even bother showing your face there?

Bijoy is right to be pissed. Jab bhi Dev muh kholta hain har sentence mein Mummy nikalta hai. Who would give their daughter to such a boy?

Great post!

I also wanted Dev to come in first and apologize to the Bose family... And I hoping this happens soon!!
I see the pre-cap,when he's at the Bose residence, this is what I'm waiting for... Sorry and forgiveness

Sona's mom is clearing wanting Sona's happiness..Bijoy is right in his own place, I just being optimistic knowing that Dev has realized Sona's value in his life .. I think he will not compromise her feelings now for anyone!

Hoping to see this point come out in this series...

And to actually see Sona slap Vicky right in front of Dev ...

Thanks for your comment. Yes. I don't have much hope either. But the upcoming infertility track has me thinking whether another break up is in the horizon. Life is hard as it is without added stress, now you are adding the biggest stress or misfortune a couple can go through, how'd this relationship with survive when it's built on such a flimsy structure?

Of course things like surrogacy, test tube baby, adoption like solutions won't be suitable enough for Dev's family. This kind of reminds me of Vicky Donner minus the sperm donner scenario.

Frankly speaking I am not happy with the infertility track being used as a means to show redemption(at least it looks like that's why its being introduced) It is a very sensitive issue, which causes immense pain, stress and worry to the couple. If this track would have been introduced later on in the story and approached in a way to raise awareness and dealt with positively , I would have been ok with it.
But at this point when the pillars of a strong relationship are missing?
If they show Dev supporting Sona, then will he be automatically forgiven for all past mistakes ? That's like leaving one wound raw and untreated and working on healing the other. And of course Dev's family will not be happy with surrogacy, adoption or other solutions because it would not carry their generation forward in the true sense for them.I am expecting to see a lot of emotionally draining episodes and cliched scenes.

I doubt they will show Dev not supporting her in this particular track(that will basically be stripping him of any shred of humanity), although with the way the writers are loving drama, it might lead to a separation again.
I think I would have liked to see male infertility more(but even that after some time had lapsed after marriage) , but I doubt Indian shows will show that.

Exactly. You can't justify one mistake with another good deeds. The mistake was a mistake and should be treated as such and the good deed was a good deed and should be treated accordingly.

It's like saying, yes, that guy cheated in exam, but he wrote a good essay, let's pass him.

And yes, I want to see Dev being infertile. That will create a much more strong message for the audience. When a couple don't have children, society automatically assumes that problem must be with the woman. There are ugly names that is meant for childless women like baanch, apshaguni etc. but no such name for childless men. I wanted to see that mentality addressed that just because a couple don't have kids and they are choosing to not share the reason why they don't have kids, no need to automatically assume that the problem is the woman. May be the problem is the man or maybe they just don't want kids.

I don't want to see same old same old ghissy pitty soch on screen again.

True, its so easy for the society to point fingers at the woman and reduce her value to zero as if her only purpose in life was to create a baby. And never once is it considered that the man might be the reason or it might be the couple's choice to not have a child. I wish such a track could have been incorporated.

Agreed

Hi
New here...
Such a lovely post!
Wotz all abt this " maa comes first" , Dev beta?
Yeh koi mark sheet hy kya?
Har ek rishtey ka alag matlab hota hy! Maa apni jageh, patni apni aur Bhai- behenon apne aur dost apne
Pehle life ke har ek insaan ko rank dena stop Karo. Tab tak tu khush nahi Reh payega aur na hi kisi aur ko khushiyan de payega!

I'm sorry, I shouldn't be laughing but this just cracked me up. 🤣 Pretty sure Ishwari must have told him to go show his sundar surat to Sona's parents. Don't like this infertility track either, I hope its not true but there 90% chances it is. -.-

See they are catering to the Indian audience and maybe what they are showing is right from their point of view. Maybe we are incapable of understanding this point of view courtesy our education and experience . I dunno
Yesterday when I was watching the show and abusing the Cvs, my 73 year old mother was actually praising them and Dev.

She said his mother has asked for forgiveness and that is enough. When I said what about him asking for forgiveness I was told you will not understand badon ki izzat hoti hai. His mother coming is more than enough

My mother might be older generation but then this is the mentality of women of small towns also

So maybe the channel is trying to cash in the popularity of the lead couple and gain TRPs. Can't blame them. It is a business after all.

The current state of the show is a reflection of the thought process of our society.

PS: are riya and Nikki blind deaf and dumb. Can none of them go and report to Dev about Vickys misbehaviour with Sona?
