Every parent wants their children to excel, to be happy, to flourish, A parent definitely feels a sense of achievement if the child is brought up well, is successful. It gives them the satisfaction, the contentment that they did not fail as parents.
And then (Pardon me for the DTKL dialogue😆) their are two kinds of children,
One like Vicky who don't give a damn about their parent's expectations, and the other like Dev and Sonakshi, who try to be the ideal children for their parents, trying their best to meet expectations.
From the first kind, like Mamaji, parents stop expecting giving it to fate that things are not in their control,
and those falling in the second category, the expectations of parents rise even more.
You must have noticed how the good child in every family listens to more scoldings if he takes a wrong step, while a spoilt brat may be ignored by the same parents.
Reason?
Expectations.
Dev and Sonakshi kept living upto their parent's expectations throughout their life, not giving a chance to them to complain.
Now, like every human, when they are making mistakes, are being human, are overlooking their role as a child first,
the parents are being disappointed. Frustrated. Angry.That they were wrong in keeping hopes. That their child is not as ideal as they wanted to bring him/her up.
Little do they realise, that this burden of - responsibilities, of being the good child, of living for your parent's happiness - takes away the child's own share of happiness.
What Dev and Sona did yesterday was their own impulsive action, Dev drinking, Sona rescuing him. .The first thing they both think about when they are back to senses is. . I have let my family down.
Dev was worried about what his mom would think, and Sonakshi was hurt because she knew Bijoy was hurt.
Both Bijoy and Ishwari are being rigid, we are already seeing Ishwari's walls of pride falling down and we will soon see a Bijoy compromise with his expectations from Sonakshi, for her happiness. For every parent's first priority is their children's happiness.
Mamaji is such a sorted person..he did not pressurise dev with his heavy words when he woke up, instead calmly told him to follow the routine. He knows that a time bomb is ticking inside Dev, ready to explode, some more pressure and it will blow off.
So, Dev wants to apologise to Sonakshi for ruining her day, for creating a scene. Look! How selfless he became eventually. For those who said he is an egoistic man who just cared about himself should see, how Dev was shocked when he knew about how he was the cause of misery in Sonakshi's life, yet again.
The precap: Ishwari ready for the marriage. Bijoy is a tough nut to crack now. But, Asha is there to help him look beyond pride. So, I am not worried.😊

PPS. Dev was actually smiling when he thought about sona while sleeping😳😆
