Why is the idea of Dev attempting suicide a shocker?

While that's not a bad alternative, what's the problem in giving Devs char a serious boost by making him miss Sona badly to such an extent that he man's up and goes to Sona and simply begs herforgiveness and plead his case.

Why do we have to resort to cliches when this is supposed to be matured romance??

He is standing on a dangerous precipice and everyone is oblivious to it

People say that only cowards take their life...but its not about being strong or weak, its that one point in time , when a person looses all hope in life and sees no reason to go further ...tht is the break point and at that crucial time even a slightest hope coming from a stranger will also help...if not its gone...done and dusted!!

If he really loves his mom...that would keep him safe from suicide...or self destruction..

It is very easy to preach- should have done this or that. But only the person who is being sucked in a vortex of depression knows what he feels like. Especially when there is no support, no hope from anywhere. Also if in his mind there is no possibility of changing the situation for the better.

Some theories sound good on paper but to the person actually struggling in life, situation might be very different. We all know what should be done. But do we do it most of the time? At times heart rules over the brain. After all what else is called the legendary moment of weakness?

I am not justifying Dev here. He himself is largely responsible for his pain.

My only contention was that the he situation he is currently in it is quite possible for him to take a drastic step.

Ishwari like a demon goddess has made a sacrificial goat of her son and is now not even taking the trouble to take care of him or give him support

If suicide is their solution to love story gone wrong, I wish them both success in their endeavors.

no I am not saying the solution to their problem is suicide.. What I am saying is that there is nobody for them to share their pain.. That's why I am saying they should express their feelings to eachother

I guess that's OK. Sometimes it helps to get drunk with a friend and bad mouth the better-halves. Whether they are at fault is irrelevant. 😉😉

As far as coping mechanism is considered this is a pretty good way without hurting themselves.
