Why is the idea of Dev attempting suicide a shocker?

We are all expressing disgust at the idea of Dev attempting suicide and are reiterating that he lives for his family.
All that is fine but is he not entitled to a nervous breakdown in the wake of all that he suffered.

sonakshi was the only dream he had dared to see in his life. he had to snuff it for his mother's happiness. Yes he did it like a spineless cad and a jerk . But that doesn't mean that his pain was less or he wasn't broken inside.

His family doesn't even care about what he is going through. Mother instead of giving him a hug is happy bad mouthing his love and stroking her ego.

To add to this his love is moving on in life. When in his mummy obsession he dumped her he never thought about the ramifications - that she would love someone else, be touched by someone else, be someone else's wife.

The tornado of pain and jealousy he would be going through would be too much for him to handle.

It's a myth that strong caring people cannot commit suicide. Suicide is generally resorted to by those who don't have someone to give them emotional support in their darkest hours. When there is no one to hold their hand

If Dev attempts suicide or even meets with a serious accident while driving in tension I will not be surprised. It would be the price he would pay for keeping his faith in a blood sucking vampire in the garb of God.

The way things are shaping up, Dev will go into depression soon... There's nobody with whom he can share his pain to.

Agreed...He is keeping strong from outside..but inside him something is dying...
Seeing Sona with Ritvik and the engagement talks will break him like anything..
And if in that situation he goes into depression and unintentionally something serious happens...it would nit be that he is weak...
He is a human being afterall and the live if his life is going away from him..the only person who belings to him..
Think abt his state of mind...Is it worthly living without soul..
I think neither engagement will hapoen nor Dev will do somethinh intentionally...
This will be a big twist to bring Devakshi back...

There is all possibility of him doing something stupid because he is just putting up a brave front . He is not sharing his pain..he is keeping it with in him...on day there will be an outburst and it going to take every thing that comes its way...that includes Sona and his mother too

Everybody wants something from him. No one ever asks him what he wants.

I disagree payalji.

If a strong person resorts to ending life when he doesn't have emotional support as a crutch, then he isn't a strong char to begin with.

Strength is when you navigate life's hurdles inspite of lack external support.. Not because of...

I would consider him strong if he does a Lord Krishna... Kidnap Sona, then beg, plead, threaten her to forgive him and be with him.

Who will he share his pain with? There was only one selfless person in his life in form of Sona and he himself threw her out to please his mother.

He is standing on a dangerous precipice and everyone is oblivious to it

Ishwari needs a 440 volt shock to wake up and realise what her great love is doing to her son. It has become like a pythons grasp and is suffocating him.

Dev growing a spine is not going to happen so soon. So yes some big twist has to come

I will correct myself here. Everyone in the forum is pointing that it is impossible for a guy who has acted like a wall to his family, who cares so much for his responsibilities to commit suicide.

What I meant was even if has a strong sense of responsibility he can crumble under the pain and depression he is being subjected to. The lack of support and pain can easily break through the sense of responsibility and Rob their capability to think or desire to live for others.

After the way Dev succumbed to his mother's emotional blackmail and didn't act honorable with Sona, even I would not call him a strong person.

Suicide is not required, but getting hurt in depression or accident is possible
