"Mr. Dixit? What the hell are you doing here?" Sonakshi asked him, her face flushing with anger.
Dev stared into her eyes, choosing to stay quiet.
"Hello? Are you going to answer as to why you're in my house, more importantly in my room at this time?" Sonakshi was trying to put up a facade of being over their breakup. But in actuality, she was happy and ecstatic to see him, just to know that he was alright. It had been only 3 days since she had last laid eyes on him, but after leaving him that day in the hospital, her heart yearned to see him, to talk to him, to touch him.
"Who was he?" Dev asked in his raspy voice, gently shutting the bedroom doors behind him. "What are you talking about?"
He walked towards her, the expression on his face intensifying with each step. "You know exactly of who I'm talking about, Sonakshi."
She stumbled as he approached her, heart beating out of her chest as she backed away from him. Realizing that he had become within arms distance of her, she placed her hands in front of her, in an attempt to push him away. Dev took the chance to grab her by her wrists, and pinned her frail body against the nearest wall.
Now it was his body against hers. Wet against dry. Two chests heaving against each other, two bodies yearning to become one.
"The guy you were just smiling and laughing with. The guy sharing an umbrella with you in the rain."
Sonakshi didn't understand why he was emphasizing the word
guy with every mention.
Was he suddenly jealous?"You mean Rithwik?" Sonakshi asked him naively.
"I don't care what his name is. All that I know is that he was with you. I saw the way he looked at you Sona. It wasn't good."
"And who are you to be worrying about the people I hang out with? What right do you have over me?"
"The right that I love you." Dev retorted.
"Love me? You? Please, Mr. Dixit. I saw all of the love you had for me a few days ago. What happened to this said love of yours when you decided to breakup with me? You leave me one day, come back the next. What is this? A game?" Sonakshi realized that tears had began to stream out of her eyes, but she didn't care. She had bottling up all of these emotions in herself these past couple of days, and she needed to release all of it.
"I've had enough of this Mr-" Before she could complete her sentence, Dev placed a hand over her mouth. "It was all a terrible mistake, Sonakshi. The worst mistake of my life." Sonakshi's eyes widened and she loosened herself in his hold as he continued.
"I don't know what was wrong with me that day. Maybe it was the stress from Maa being sick. I was being stupid and impulsive. In the moment, it felt like the right thing to do. Maa was happy, and I thought I would be happy too. I was wrong. I felt incomplete and detached that night. That's why I called you. I thought I could find solace in your words, but I ruined that for myself too. These past 3 days have been worse than hell." He slipped his hand off of her mouth and held her hand in his.
"Sonakshi, I know I've been terrible to you. And I've made you cry a lot." He took the back of his hand and wiped her tears away. "I know this might be asking for too much, but if you still have love left for me,
will you be mine again? ----
Oops another cliffhanger. This story will most likely be a three shot. If I get a good response I will update the last part soon. 😊
