Totally disagree
Kids need to take responsibilities of their action.
Pointing fingers at parents for everything is not right thing. why parents always have to be flawless? Aren't they human just like their kids? Aren't they allowed to make mistake? Why they always have to be right?

Not trying to justify recent behaviour of mataji

But credit should be given where it's due. It's her upbringing that Dev is a gentleman, not someone like Gareeb ki beti's son. All her (ishwari) kids are well brought up, well behaved and down to earth despite losing their father at very young age when had nothing with them. No money or property. Anyone can earn money, but ishwari taught him to earn with right way. She send him to school, it was up to him to just take kitaabi gyaan, or take practicle gyaan as well. Dev falls in former category.

At one point of life children need to get out of diaper and grow some spine.

There was an incident where Nikki lied about get to gather party. Does it mean ishwari taught her to be liar? No.

Same way Dev is responsible for his actions.

Did ishwari ask him to get sona fire from her Job? But it doesn't mean she should go with him everywhere to guide.

Ishwari was never in favor of offering Ranveer anything but still Dev went ahead. Who should be blamed?

Same way dev should have handled this suicide mess in better way. He needs to understand everything is not about his mother and sisters. He was heart broken when neha's wedding got cancelled, he was so desperate to fix everything, and second time he was ready to give everything anything to Ranveer for Neha. Then how did he fail to see that even sona is someone's sister? What exactly is he doing? First he poked his nose between sona and kushal and finished everything after it was official becoz he didn't want nutritionist to go anywhere else (ishwari never asked him to do that) and another time dumped her for obsession of mother.

There is fault in him.

At least he should have tried to know what exactly was going inside ishwari's head? What exactly her problem with sona? He should have discovered that his mom is obsessed and needs a psychiatrists. He should have known that his mom wants to keep in diaper forever and never grow a boner, and then decide whether he's ready to take jeevan of brahamchari or not?

I dont want to be judgemental, as you have mentioned one personal incident, let me say if he had capability to do something, he would have done something in India. If he failed means he was never capable. Parents to sirf bahana hain. He could have convinced his parents or would have gone out against their wish. I'm sure they cant tie him with hathkadi. But even for that one needs talent, self confidence and hard work.

Vimal How did I forget this part šŸ˜† As a professional woman it was downright insulting for my employer to spread false information to people that I am overtly concerned with my employer's family 🄱 Hope in future Asha comes and shouts at whole Dixit family on all the evil cheap things they did to Sona, so that Ishwari comes to know to what length her 'raja-beta' has gone to ensure Sona remains in his life, and Dev comes to know to what extent Sona has endured all taunts hurled at her from his God-mother and GKB 🄱

I hope that happens.Asha blasting GKB N Ishwari.

Mom is the first teacher to their children. She has big hand in it.She has big hand in raising a good son.Who respects women.

I agree completely. Both Dev and Ishwari are weak individuals who have co-dependent relationship. Ishwari not only ignored her own daughters for Dev's and essentially her own future but now she is also trying to keep Dev away from love of his life just so that she can have all the control over his life. It's like he is her investment not a child.

Both disgust me and frankly in real life situations, I would ask any girl to stay far far away from this type of dysfunctional mother-son relationship.

nice post and it got many wonderful replies...saw many point of views from all sides of Dev and ishwari...Dev can be blamed fully or ishwari can be or both mother son can be... but before that... I need to ask...is Dev lucky to get a person like sona as love of life or is sona unlucky to get a person like Dev as love life ? and also she is waiting for love story to begin ? and so sad for sona as she is unlucky to get a person like Dev ...the person who learn to smile in his 20s and he can't get a wife that too like sona...so easily and he has to suffer a lot and has to learn a lot and has to know more abt his mom and...ishwari stills expect Dev to be young and expect Dev as a money making machine to her family and also dev as a toy to her who only wants to play with the toy and doesn't thinks abt the toy and wants the toy not to be broken as she wants to play and if broken she can't play with that... if dev is married with Natasha and he goes for honey moon foreign for few days she may suffer that omg... my son...how can I be without him and how I can't see his happiness... and then she too will go...just crap...I am thinking more but all I want to be relax and watch wonderful acting of shaheer and erica...

Ishwari has invested her whole life on Dev, his education, his upbringing etc etc. Not even going to the argument how mean it is to ignore the girl-children for a boy-child, but let's just take Dev to see how much Ishwari has become successful on her ONLY venture of life..

A man's character is defined by how he behaves in a critical situation.. A person is judged based on his reaction and not his action.. How a person reacts to a situation is what reflects his background, education, behavior, integrity, sensitivity and modesty..

Honestly, both Dev and Ishwari think that Dev has become lot educated and established businessman etc etc, but life is much beyond money and materials.. Dev's behavior to ANY crucial situation makes him an uneducated and uncultured person..

Let's take example of Ranveer.. Any person with a peanut-size of brain would understand how offending it is to offer a flat to a young earning guy.. Dev couldn't see that ?! He reacted to that situation like a total irrational and insensitive person and upset so many people..

Let's take the example of Dev wanting a doctor for his mother.. Doesn't matter if it's caring or romantic, but to get someone fired from her job, creating a situation where she gets no other job, and compelling her to accept his offer - If you think from a neutral POV, it's a VILLAINOUS thing to do to someone.. Only people emerged in deep layers of Power would not see how wrong it is šŸ˜• Even though I happened to love Devakshi, I still can't accept him playing with people's lives for whatever reason..

Let's take the example of Neha's not wanting to wear the lehenga from her in-laws.. Wow Dev was EverReady to get a new costly lehenga for Neha.. Had he reacted like a sane guy, he wouldn't have given in to his sister's demand.. But no, he HAD to make the bad decision..

Let's take the examples of Niki's party with friends.. Or Sona's breaking phone incident.. Or Ishwari's health being unwell and firing Sona - All his reactions are outrageous and OTT.. And everytime he ends up saying sorry.. How many times this guy has to say sorry to others ?

Sorry to say, but Dev's decisions/reactions in all crucial points don't reflect his social, moral or civic education from any angle.. He is quite insensitive to the need/logic/integrity of other people and does not hesitate to use his power and money to get his job done for his selfish reasons or can resort to physical violence (throwing things ARE indeed one kind of indirect physical violence).. Just falling in love doesn't make anyone a better person.. This guy has a LOT to improve to match upto Sona's perseverance, understanding and quality as a human being.. 😊

And as we can now very well see from where Dev got all his traits from.. Ishwari has focused only making him eligible to earn enough money.. But had she provided him some other civic qualities, he won't be facing so much of difficulties to handle all life-situations.. I don't really blame Dev for becoming what he is today.. We all know the story of the frog who was stuck in a well and used to think that this was the whole perfect world unless someone showed it the right path.. Ishwari has successfully kept Dev in that well where his ONLY responsibility was to earn money for the family and act as the provider.. Had Ishwari focused on Dev's LIFE, had she taught him the basic life-lessons, had she been concerned as how she raises her son as an independent person who can make successful decisions in future and can have humanly qualities, we would have had a different Dev who learns to balance Business and Family, not a Dev who has to take Sleeping Pills at late 20's and has no friends to share his thought-processes.. Ishwari has ONLY encouraged Dev in getting things done.. Had she taken a little interest on HOW Dev gets his things done, she would know what she has raised her son into..

Dev is a REAL example of direct upbringing by an extremely selfish parent.. And no, it's not right to blame Dev today for what Ishwari has grown him into..

***********************************

From my real life, I can state an example of an extreme selfish couple who didn't let their son go out of their home and ruined a bright career of him JUST because he can stay close to them.. Today his cousins are all successful and globally placed.. But the guy has gone into depression more so after getting married to a girl and getting stuck into his village cuz of his parents.. Today few things he does is really questionable, but no one can blame the guy for what he has become today..

***********************************

Moral of the story - Yes such parents exist, and their parenting is what results in such horrible products..

My two cents 😊

Honestly one of the best written posts on Dev, sonakshi and apparently holier than thou ishwari. I don't know how sonakshi will get back with Dev but she will, since it's reel life! In real life personally I feel love cannot survive without respect for each other. And even if I don't take into account dev's past deeds , after what he did today sonakshi should run in the opposite direction as fast as her legs could carry her if she were ever to see him again! Because he would bolt again if something similar happens with his mother which inevitably would. His mother is one weird lady. I have seen and heard mothers not getting along with their DIL but this is some kind of an unhealthy obsession.
Of course superb acting by ERICA, SHAHEER And SUPRIYA PILGAONKARšŸ‘SUPRIYA is one great actress.

in Natasha alliance...Dev not spend more time with her and Dev is in confusion in that relationship and he ask every decison abt her to ishwari and ishwari thinks she is more important to him and gkb support natasha and no bad words towards her...and the problem may arise btw ishwari dev and Natasha after marriage only and Dev may give divorce to Natasha for his mother happiness as in case of breakup with sona...

Dev doesn't deserve Sona ever! She is one sorted woman and Dev is one very confused soul. But I really wanted Sona's character to give that useless Maami a piece of her mind which unfortunately never happened.
P.S-Kudos to the lady playing Maami. Her every expression gets onto your nerves which is exactly what the character is supposed to došŸ˜†
