He might be a great son to his mother but he completely failed as a good boyfriend to Sonakshi.
I have always hated the indifference that he showed whenever it came to people insulting his "girlfriend" in the dixit house. Whether it was GKB RR constantly taking a dig at her or the recent Ishwari's rude behavior. Any self-respecting individual would feel terribly bad at what Sona was being put through yet Dev does nothing. Forget taking a stand for her, he doesn't even offer a word of comfort. Would he be okay if Neha was given the same treatment at her in-laws? Even Nikki or Rhea for that matter?
Having said that, the love and respect that he always seemed to hold for Sona and the way he treated her despite the major shortcomings with his character made me ignore them all. That was until now..
Breaking up with Sona was his decision. No matter how wrong the decision was, we can still understand why he does it. In fact I was one of those who took a stand for him since I believed it was what "Dev" would do.. See that , that was expected.
What was not though was the fact that he would do it without first consulting with Sona. I mean seriously Dev? It takes two to build a relationship. The least you could do was to have the decency to explain to the woman you CLAIM to be in love with - the reason you are doing it.
Unfortunately Dev has been only talk and no walk. From the very beginning. "You belong with me Jaha mein hoon wahi tumhara jagah bhi hain.."
Kya hua un wadon ka Dev? You owe her the answers. You can sulk and cry over it as much as you can but first - learn to respect your relationship, respect the girl that has given you nothing but happiness in return for the constant taunts and utter disrespect! Such a disappointment as a romantic lead honestly. Shaheer has no doubt been brilliant and those lines.. they made me fall in love with him too. It's heart breaking to watch him being portrayed as someone who doesn't have the spine or the courage to fight for his happiness and more importantly to take a stand for what is right!
If this was the kind of guy I dated, why would I ever want to go back?!

I was honestly shocked with the way Dev behaved in SBS.
Him breaking up with Sona I can understand but him disrespecting the relationship that they had was such a big blow to all of us who stood for him over the whole fiasco.
He seriously let us all down. I really hoped RR was wrong when she said that they only had to wait till Sona was out of Dev's life to taunt her again. I was so sure that even after their break-up Dev would never be okay with her disrespecting Sona but here he didn't even flinch when they dismissed their relationship as a mistake
Dev seriously isn't giving us any real reason for us to root for him right now. I mean think about it, who has gained significantly from their relatonship? Dev. Who changed for the better? Dev. Who promised and went back on them? Dev. Why should Sona give him another chance? To a man who, forget fighting for her, doesn't even take a stand for her? Sona deserves so much more!
