I don't watch the show regularly. Saw a bit of it and then cane back after a long time to find that Dev had broken up with Sona.
If you don't have the courage to stand up for what you are doing then don't do it. By this logic, if they were married and his mother decided she did not like his wife, tried to commit suicide then he should leave his wife cos what is a son supposed to do?
You don't run at the sign of trouble. If his mother is so imp in his life; then he should not think for himself, just do what his mom says.
Any sensible person would bide time and try and convince his mom . But Dev chooses to break up with Sona. It was his choice to confess to Sona and encourage her affections, but it is not just his decision alone to break-up, there is another person involved.
Does Sona really want a man who does not have the balls to stand by her when the going gets tough? What he essentially is telling her that she is a very poor and distant 2nd in his life. Why would a woman want a man like that?
