This story has a long way to go and these 2 (3 or many) characters have a full journey to complete. They are just at the starting point...

First & again, it was wonderful to get the original Dr. Sonakshi Bose back yesterday.
She looked amazing and carried the right attitude. *Love*

Penning down my 2 cents (always seems to get really long 😊)-

Sonakshi, the girl fell in love with - Mr. Dev Dixit
- a man who brought his family out of poverty by sheer hard work & strength of will.
- a man who worships his family & can do anything for them.
- a man who does not mind bending low for his family and when it comes to his family he carries no ego, no aura of being the business tycoon.
- a man who worships his mother and will do anything for her.
- He is kind, cares for his family (at home & his extended family in the office)
- a man who has his heart in its right place
- He always looks for solutions when presented with a problem and gets restless if a solution is not with him. Most often his solutions are of material nature.
- He is clueless in the feelings department but when he feels, he feels with a force with honesty & without ego.

Mr. Dev Dixit respected Dr. Sonakshi Bose for what she is doing for his mother.
Dev fell in love with Sonakshi, the girl
- a simple, mature, down-to-earth girl who he can share anything with.
- when she listens, she listens without judgement. when she advices, she does so without imposing.
- she is the 4am friend who he can call when in crisis.
- his mother trusts her.
- he can be truly himself with her. he is free.

The fact that both are physically good looking & attractive is a bonus but not the deciding factor.

We all fall in love with certain traits and wish the same traits will include us as we move forward in a relationship.

Sona the girl, wishes to be engulfed in the same love, care, commitment that Dev has for his family.
Dev the boy, wishes & is reveling in the fact that he can finally be himself and there is someone who demands nothing & is all his. His friend & confidant.

This is where the 2 stand today.
Both approaching the crisis around them with exactly the same hope they fell in love with.
Both true to character.
He is still the same family man - Committed. She is still the same confidant - Omnipresent.

The friction is because its time to move forward.
He now needs to broaden his vision from 'confidant' to see the individual with desires, hopes, dreams, family, concerns.
She now needs to broaden her vision from the 'family man' to see her Partner in all life matters.

This can only happen by being who you truly are & communicating openly.

Asha's words jolted Sona to realize how she had lost herself in Dev and her words, the attitude was as much a reminder to herself as to Dev.

Dev was still in 'Confidant' mode and needed that jolt to remind him that his confidant is a real person.

This stage now is the walk from Love to Relationship.

Sona has seen solid relationships at home and she has a support system so this girl will falter but as long as she communicates, she will ride into this strong.

Dev is no coward but will majorly falter. No one taught him how real relationships work. He will fall, falter but the real character will be - how he stands up. He still has a lot to learn about himself...

But both love each other is true and they will work this out - with trips, falls, separations, angst, understanding & commitment.

I am rooting for the angst & commitment but not for walking away & living their own lives. This is just the beginning and I am just hoping the makers handle this right & give us a brilliant love story.

What are you rooting for?

Arch Beautifully put... I want to see them falter, make mistakes, cry and hold each other crying and grow together, pull each other up, get up with their heads held high and walk together..
That according to me is the test of a relationship...

This walking away if what is making me nervous...It is a way out.
It time to walk together.

So aptly put. Though I loved Sona's attitude, my heart went out for Dev ( Could be because the actor is outstanding...). But eitherways, I did still feel sorry for Dev.

The problem is not with one alone.. They cannot be in their own zones and expect the changes to happen by themselves...

It is definitely time to move forward.

A wonderful post ! For me its a journey of balancing togetherness and individuality - a sign of a healthy relationship - two beings become one and yet remain two...It's not about perfect, it's about perfecting. It's not about balance, it's about balancing...Both Dev and Sona have a different idea of what balance look like ( e.g expectations) and neither person's view of balance is right or wrong but simply based on their upbringing, personality and needs...Differences won't vanish ever but communication is the key...

First, thank you for reading and sharing your thoughts.

"I want to see them falter, make mistakes, cry and hold each other crying and grow together, pull each other up, get up with their heads held high and walk together..

I completely agree.

I applauded the fiery Sona yesterday because more than anything she needed to get back to herself. She was losing herself in the Maa & her role as the omnipresent support. This was for HER!

I did feel bad for Dev. From his perspective, he does not know the insults, cold shoulder and behavior being showered on Sona by Ishwari. Sona did not share, he cannot assume.
He is so rattled by his Maa's drama that he cannot think beyond it and No, it wasn't the right time to share about his love - his Maa wasn't even talking straight with him & he didn't know the cause.

I felt Sona's attack was wrong timing and lacked prior communication but very much needed for Sona herself.

If she had shared and he had been indifferent then her insecurity was justified.
It's like she wants this relationship but feared she cant get it from day 1. Somewhere she is stuck in the period when she almost lost her love (Natasha engagement) but she was crying for something she hadn't even tried to get. She loved him and just expected him to love her back & cried when he didn't.

Now she expects him to understand but she didn't share what she was going through and she herself kept her family out of the picture.

She needs to do what Dev does - Communicate.

She fears the same things she loves him for - will he make a place for her in his family.

...and Ishwari fears - will her place be uprooted and given to Sona.

Dev can set things right if someone tells him what the problem is. We might think, he should know but ... he may be Dev, but he's not God 😊

Wonderful post 👏
I am rooting for two IMPERFECT individuals & their beautiful journey towards building their PERFECT relationship.😊

I am finally out of y'day's episode hangover. Let me share my 2 cents here as i mentioned in yyy's post. I feel that actual problem is not with Dev or Sona or Ishwari. I think the main problem lies in the execution part. Looks like makers took their viewers & their love for granted esp after 100th episode.

Makers made a mess out of Sona & Ishwari's characters recently(esp after 100th episode). They made Ishwari's character from a sensible person to complete sense less and non-sense person. You can understand the damage they caused to Ishwari's character when people started feeling GKB is much better than Ishwari. I felt they don't have any clarity on how to portray Ishwari when the actual story kick started.

Coming to Sona, Its good that in the past 2 episodes makers made Sona back to human with fears, flaws, feelings & confusions. Thank god that she is not any more flawless & selfless typical mahan FL of TV soaps. Each and every human has their tolerance limit and we react when that limit is crossed. There is nothing wrong wrt Sona's behavior as a normal human being. Problem lies in the way they handled Sona's character in the recent episodes. They made Sona from Delhi's best nutritionist to Dixit's house care taker. Most of her y'days dialogues are to calm down this fandom and for damage control. They made Sona from a strong, independent & head strong girl to a typical Shock absorb-er. There are many things which really annoyed me about Sona's character in the recent episodes. Like her helpless pleading when GKB was playing with her phone, silently listening to all taunts/insults or her lack of communication in their relationship. She never shared with Dev about what is happening in his absence. Even when he asked her about How is her day, she says i was thinking about u. Seriously. And she is the one who tells Dev that we need to discuss about everything and not just about happy moments to complete our relationship. She want to cut vegetables and clean palak to help Ishwari, Are you serious Sona? Before asking Dev or any other person not to take her for granted, First she need to Respect herself and her family. Most importantly, She need to respect her profession and should behave like a professional at work. She is also need to know that currently she is not a bahu/would be bahu at Dixit's house to get involve in to each and every house matter. Let them handle their mess & why she need to be there for them like a 24/7 help.

Coming to Dev, ATM i felt he is the only one who is staying in his character properly & he is the only reason why i am still not able to loose the connect with this show. It may look annoying when he is talking always about his ma & his family but his priorities are always clear. For him, his mother comes first and then his family(now this includes Sona also from his pov).

More than the actors, I love the show writers for their subtle story telling. I honestly feel writers need to pull up their socks and protect what they have built so beautifully till now in this show and not to spoil its essence just for drama. This is just my pov.

Your post is really beautiful. So poignant so touching !!!

I am having such different feelings every time I look at the scenario we have been shown till yesterday. I have been writing in so many different posts may be bcoz I am a bit disturbed at the turn of events.

I am not on anyone's side in particular ... at times I feel for Sona and at times I feel for Dev.
I don't know how to put it but may be I am looking at all of this with a very emotional perspective and not a rational one.

My mind accepts that Sonakshi did good in saying all that she said to Dev . I am happy she has come out as an independent and strong woman who is not weak and cannot be taken for granted. I applaud her speaking up coz she was bearing the brunt of it all silently.

My heart is speaking a different language though.

There are some people in this world who are emotionally challenged or in layman terms you can call them weak... which is being said for Dev...those who cannot come to terms with their innermost thoughts and may take time to express it in front of their parents or friends or even lover maybe. ...so ... what do u do with such people ? how do u deal with them? Is it ok to push them away when they need you because we are now getting fed up. I don't know the answer myself ...!

Dev is the kind of guy who will always run to Sona with every little problem / issue whether she likes it or not. He will go to her only ...its upto her to do what she wants to do with him and his set of issues. Its upto her now really coz Sona can say it ...Dev cannot ...he will not be able to ! it is as simple as that.

Since the time they have come together ...Sona is not the one who gets carried away ...he does ...she is not the one who says ...I need you ...I need you all the time but we hear it from him every 2nd scene.

Why does he say need you and not want you ? Is there any difference in need and want?? Why does Dev need Sona so much and not vice versa. I am not saying she does not love him ...she does...but Sona is not dependent on him and that was made clear to us yesterday. He is the one who is and thus he shall suffer more because his dependency is more.

Since two days he has been asking for help and has been refused bluntly on face ...its not v easy to keep admitting to someone that you are so dependent on them to move forward in your day to day life. Does the refusal stop him from going to her again ...no it does not ! he stands there stumped and not knowing what to say to her ! sigh ...
He had said once ...I want to take ur approval before I do each and everything ...it just goes to show how much he is relying on her.

I quite understand Sona is going through her own set of issues at home , she is feeling sad and guilty in front of her parents ...her mom is disappointed in her and she did not expect Sona to behave in the way she did ...this disappointment that Sona cannot see in her mom's eyes for her is the same that Dev cannot see in the eyes of his mom for him ! Are they not in same situation then?

One jolt at home and Sona was able to gather herself up and give it to him ...it goes on to show how much she is into her family too...yes she forgot about it all in love but she realized now and told him that she is in a spot because of him. What if Sona's parents refuse for this alliance in future, Will she be able to go against them for Dev ?

All the above is fine , I just feel that she gave up too soon on him. Just too soon ...she reached to a conclusion that he does not love her enough. Does she love him enough ?? How do we get to know this ? Is Sona sure about Dev since she now knows he really is a difficult man to live with.

I for one just want to see them talking to each other before reaching conclusions ... that will do it for me as rest shall fall in place then.
