I started following the show on a regular basis after Dev's love confession and watched all the previous episodes in one go...and really liked how they were treating a common subject in a unique way...
The maturity yet the simplicity...the understanding yet the subtlety...the freshness yet the normal love story of Dev & Sonakshi, made me an ardent fan of this show.

But the track post the Havan episode, is really getting irritating. Ishwari's character sketch is being drawn like any other over possessive mother, we have seen in all those tried & tested serials from the EK factory over the years.

Right from the beginning Ishwari was shown as a possessive mother...in one of the episodes, Neha says "Ladke ko ghodi chadne ke liye maa ki godi se utarna padta hai. Aur maa ne apne aur bhai ke beech apni betiyon ko nahin aane diya...toh doosre ki beti ko kaise aane degi"...and her turmoil during Natasha episode and her relief after Dev breaks his engagement, which showed her possessive nature, but then it was handled well.

There was subtlety and maturity in the way Ishwari's character was handled. But not anymore...her character is turning out to be the irritating Saas from any other saas-bahu saaga...

Again, Sonakshi's independent character was something which endeared every viewer to the character of Dr. Bose. Her elegance, her self-respecting nature yet her adjustment to handle Ishwari was shown well, but now she is like any other bechaari bahu in front of Maamiji...atleast in the beginning she used to correct Maami...but now the originality of her character has lost.

Regarding Dev, a person who was so sharp and claims to know what his mother thinks without her telling him...isn't able to see the turmoil and the reason behind her changed nature. Or is he in denial mode...I guess, he not able to accept his relationship with Sonakshi in front of his mother is because, he is aware of her possessive and obsessive nature, but is not ready to accept the flaw in his mother's nature. His character of being a righteous person, when Maami treated Sonakshi like a maid and he stood up for Sonakshi is lost, when Maami was abusing Sonakshi in front his eyes, when he was sick...his character is also loosing its sheen of that being a strong and righteous person...

I just hope the show retains its uniqueness that it started with by keeping the characters true to their nature that was at the beginning of the show and then weave a story around it. Like they said, its a common story told in a different way, but now I am finding it to be a common story told in a common way...

I don't think the show is losing its uniqueness... The characters are very well sketched... And these kind of possessive mothers do exist... Ishwari, whatever set and done... She acts rude to Sona at one point but immediately feels bad. She is aware that what she's doing is wrong. But her insecurities are not letting her act wise.

For Sona... She's bound to Dev's job for now and once her term is complete she'll move out of the job and i think we should wait for the upcoming episodes... May be after the approval by families Sona will no longer continue with the job and will JLS once again.

Now talking about Dev, no matter how much you claim to know someone very well there are some things about them you won't understand. Same is with Ishwari, she understands Dev very well. But not everytime. Humans are like that. So here comes the realistic approach... The uniqueness is still intact as what is shown is practical. They are not some superman or woman to everytime know what's there in the mind of the other person.

This is what my POV is and according to me, we should wait and watch how the further story unfolds.😊

I disagree. I don't think it's turning out to be a regular saas bahu saga. Ishwari is insecure and behaving childish but understandably so. We must also remember she is a widow with not one to share her joys and sorrows with and the one person whom she believes and relies on has stop confiding in her. This is bound to evoke some reactions from her and what she is doing is quite prevalent in Indian households. So not over the top at all.
Besides the serial is supposed to be realistic and real life is not only about romance and a bed of roses everyday with cute nok jhoks etc but making your love story flourish inspite of road blocks and oppositions.

I too just wish and hope that they retain the uniqueness.
I am not denying that they are showing what is happening in Indian households and there do exist people like Ishwari. But the show started off on a different note, Ishwari was possessive, obsessive but not evil. Sonakshi was independent, self sustained and caring but was not a doormat, Dev was head-strong, righteous and devoted son - but was not double minded...
Earlier the show was common but unique, which was why it was so endearing...but now it is turning out to be common as well as "the usual"...I just wish to be proved wrong but the last few episodes are directing towards the same thing...we have had enough of mothers accepting their son's love and then scheming to separate the beta and bahu doing all sorts of drama...Bade Acche Lagte Hai, Dehleez, Silsila Pyar Ka, Pavitra Rishta...

I just pray that this show should remain unique..
