Interesting discussions

Firstly Dev needs to feel pain of love he has never felt that while Sona did
remember when she realized she is in love with Dev , Natasha's proposal was the topic in Dixit house and Sona was hurt but Dev when he realized he is in love he confessed he did not need to run after Sona no so she has always been there for his comfort .
there has never been any fight to get her love so yes he will be much more relaxed taking Sona for granted because he knows no matter what he does she will be there standing by his side .
for Dev to take or make Sona important he'll will have to miss her presence he will have to go through pain , no doubt he loves her but he needs to concentrate on the other pillars that holds a relation .
Sona I just could not understand her she has such a friendly bond with her parents yet she has not told them . She should let Dev concentrate in telling his mother while she too tells her parents .

How many times she tried(failed) to confess her feelings to Dev? How many times Elena pushed her? Even after so many attempts still she was not able to confess. She understood the depth her feelings towards Dev only when she was about to lose him to Natasha. Now think about Dev and his current situation and i hope i was able to make some sense. 😆

It does make sense! And I agree, its difficult for him to ask for something this huge where even the slightest possibility of Ishwari saying no will have huge consequences for Dev. Its just that I would like it if they gave us a little more insight into what he is feeling at the moment. I saw the Devakshi phone conversation again, and the pause he took before answering when Sonakshi asked whether its because he thinks Ishwari wouldnt approve, said a lot. He is scared to tell her coz he doesn't want to face that situation where he might have to make a choice. Both Ishwari and Dev are big time avoiders. They will avoid a situation till it goes from bad to worse. Perhaps its beacause I know that there's a separation in the future and since we as audience have seen how against Ishwari really is regarding this relationship, that's making me feel this way :)

Sona, now that you have woken up, shake the hell out of these Dixits!!

How true! Love makes you do the strangest things, It makes a career oriented headstrong woman keep her career on hold for a guy, makes a guy who never noticed colours want to dance in the rain and its love that makes a loving mother willingly sabotage her son's relationship with another woman. Truly, we are getting to experience 'Kuch rang pyaar k..' the different shades of love :)

One thing that I completed disliked about yesterday's episode was the fact that Sonakshi stressed only on Ishwari while explaining Dev to disclose about their relationship..What about her parents? Don't they deserve to know too? Shouldn't Dev be aware of the fact that she is not ok with hiding about their relationship from her parents any longer? I feel bad for Sonakshi's parents..They are so lovable and supportive..I see my parents in them and that makes me over-sensitive towards them I guess..

I still stand by the comment I made I made on your thread a couple of days back. Its the ' fear' that is holding Dev back. Fear that her mother would disapprove of his choice and feel disappointed in him... He needs to badly understand that "hiding" would do no good instead further create more issues for them...Let's see if DevAkshi confrontation today can make him realize this or not !!!

Thank you for commenting Jyoti, lovely analysis. A little change of perspective does help clear up a lot of things.
I think we are on the same page when it comes to Ishwari's character. She has been a possessive mother all along, but now that she feels threatened she is showing exactly how possessive she is and the lengths to which she is willing to go in order to remain Number 1 in her son's eyes.

About Dev, I am really confused about his state of mind right now. Dev is one of the most interesting characters on the show. He has so many shades that sometimes its hard to decipher exactly what's going on in that beautiful brain of his. Shaheer himself has mentioned in a lot of his interviews that Dev himself is very confused right now and is unsure on how to deal with all that is happening in his life. As a viewer who identifies so much with Sonakshi, its painful to see the unfairness of it all. Dev not telling his mom is not only going to affect him but its gonna coz a ripple effect in Sonakshi's life. Coz his mother is not finding faults in him, she is blaming Sonakshi for influencing him. When it comes to love, Dev has been quite fortunate so far, as he realised he was in love, confessed it and got the girl. We have seen Sonakshi truly suffer for her love, I would just like it if we saw a little suffering from Dev's side as well. Currently also, Sonakshi is ready to adjust and she will continue doing it in the futue, I just hope she doesnt make it the center of her world and moves on with her professional life atleast, all the while, loving Dev.

As a girl, I have identified with Sonakshi's character the most up until now. Her independence, firmness, ability to get her point across without being impolite combined with her innocence had me in awe of her. Only in the recent 2-3 episodes I have been feeling that she is getting so emotionally attached to the Dixits that she is failing to pursue her own life. Dev is handling his business, his mother, his sisters everything whereas Sonakshi is concerned just with Dev and his family. Like I mentioned in my previous reply to a comment on this post, Maybe better communication is the key. If Sonakshi told Dev that she needs to tell her parents also, Dev would understand better. Guys sometimes really dont get a point unless they are expressly told about it. And Dev has always needed a push, whether it comes to realizing his feelings for Sonakshi or talking to his mom.

Hope this gives you an insight about my POV. Totally respect your views, and agree with most of them. Thank you so much for commenting😊

Friday the 29th july gave me a lot of positive vibes, but the august 1st just took it down. I know one good episode can turn around the show, but last week was entirely about ishwari feeling bad, this week will be about Dev and his muh kholna subh gadi and next week is about Sona, realizing that she is not all that likeable by Ishwari.

And so on and so forth the story would move. But we would be around still wondering why? why not? when? how? is it? oh no!!

But the craze will continue, we have become so addicted to this story, we keep the copy right to praise it or criticise it, but all in good spirits.

Lets wait and see how the makers live upto to the standard set up by them.

Thank you dear. Glad to know we think alike😊 You are right, the show has us addicted to it. I think its a big win for the makers that they have managed to create a healthy debate between the audience, it means the audience is actually bothered about what is happening on the show and are able to identify with it, unlike other saas bahu shows wherein the viewers are every bit as disinterested as the makers😆

On a separate note: I have a burning question of the day- sons like Dev (who worships, ask mom's permission for every single matter, and goes on a guilt trip for seeking happiness for himself) do they exist in real life? No offense. I've never come across anyone like him, kind of curious

Hahaha Im sorry dear, but I cant help you in this matter, I have met sons who are mamma's boys but never to Dev's extent. Maybe they do exist, but I havent come across anyone like him either! Maybe our forum wasis can help us out!

Dev in addition to being a Mommy's boy also comes with tremendous emotional baggage. In fact for any woman he is bad news with a Capital B.

all said and done Sona has done the stupidity of falling for this man. Maybe she fell in love with his apparent goodness and kindness to his family without once giving a thought to how difficult it would be to live on a daily basis with him and his family . Compromising your self respect for a few days is OK but it can't be done on a perpetual basis.

sona has further allowed him to take her for granted by quietly taking his Mamis insults. Fine his Mama helped them a lot but is he going to allow GKB a free rein because of that. Would he have kept quite if that foul woman was insulting his mother? Glaring once is just not enough. He should have spelt it in black and white but then again his mother's emotions come before sonas self respect.

I think Sona should either ask Dev to pull up his socks or run away as far as possible from this mother son duo. Marriage is not a week long affair that adjustments to this level can be made. It is not easy to live everyday Compromising or sacrificing your sense of self.

Dev is a mystery to me! I mentioned it in a previous post also, his reactions or the apparent lack of it sometimes confounds me. You made a very good point, If GKB would've been talking to his mother in this way, she would have been on the streets right now. He brushes her behavior off casually coz he assumes Sonakshi is mature enough not to take her seriously. But as a girl, I really would love to get a more firm reaction from him. All of them are flawed, its the USP of the show. I just hope the disconnect doesnt reach a point of no return for me!
Thanks for your comment dear😃
