It's time to wake up and smell the coffee! Yesterday's episode was such a disappointment. I'm not cribbing coz the central issue is being addressed or coz of depressing scenes, but because I didn't expect to feel such a disconnect with all the three characters when the plot unfolds.
Ishwari lost all realness a long time back. Her constant partiality, creepy behaviour and selective amnesia has all contributed in me losing any sympathy I had for her. So the less said, the better.
Coming to Dev, yesterday I saw the Dev from the first promo. Where he breaks up with Sonakshi. The guy is so scared of seeing the so called 'nirasha' in his mom's eyes that he's ready to let go of the only thing that has given him true happiness without even putting up a fight. I'm not encouraging the notion that we should go against our parents wishes, but it's also our duty to try and convince them if we really wannaw spend our lives with someone. Dev had the perfect opportunity yesterday, Ishwari wasn't even being cold yesterday, like she's been since the past week. She was giving him an opening, but he stopped. Why? He alone knows. I couldn't figure out why he stopped all of a sudden. I understand it's a big deal and he was nervous. He remembers Sonakshi's tears when he starts the convo but what happened later on, Dev? Pls,pls stop behaving like a typical guy who promises a girl everything she wants and then later chickens out. Him being irritated with her in the precap was the cherry on top. I think I should stop speaking about Dev, otherwise all Dev fans are gonna kill mešŸ˜†
Lastly, Sonakshi. Yesterday even Sonakshi was being stupid. She has a gem of a family. It's time she starts thinking about them instead of joining Dev in worshipping Ishwari. I cringe every time she calls her Maa. She's not your Maa sonakshi, your own mother is your maa, please pay a little attention to her, the poor soul is feeling neglected and you're too busy caring about your new Maa to notice this fact. She is blinded by her love for Dev and isn't realising that involving herself so emotionally is going to destroy her in the future. Pls Sonakshi, you're my last hope. I would hate my favorite character to be ruined.
All this reminds me of a line said by the show's director during the launch of the show.. "Dev k liye Ishwari hi Ishwar hai aur Sonakshi k liye uska pyaar Ishwar ban jata hai"
Sadly, this is true!
Sorry for my rant, I really love the show and I'm just very upset right now. I want Dev to yearn for Sonakshi and realise her importance in his life. For that, MOVE OUT OF THE DIXIT HOUSE AND GET A NEW JOB, SONA!!

First Relax and good that u took out everything from inside. Let me post the same thing which i have replied to you in bookworm post just now.
Dev needs to yearn for Sona. For this to happen first he need to understand her importance in his life. Now tell me how he will understand her importance in his life when she is there for him 24/7.
From the confession till today, everything was cake walk for Dev in this relationship. Obviously he took her for granted. I said some time back in soumya's post, we never know the value of what we have till we lose it.
Let him do more mistakes, let him choose his mother over Sona, Let Sona move out of his life and thats the time he will actually understand what is her importance in his life. It may looks like sadistic while saying but I am waiting to see him suffer for Sona and i am glad that story is moving forward from their koo chikoo moments.
We are disappointed because we are expecting them to act in perfect manner. The best part of this show is none of the characters are perfect or super humans including our dear Sona and thats what make them real and human. This is the exact reason why i love this show.

Thank you!! Big hug to you! Your reply made me feel better, really!
I want that too, to see Dev suffer. Till now, it's been Sonakshi who has suffered. Seeing Dev yearn will be a treat to watch. Your line ' you realize someone's importance once they leave' was gold. So true.
Lastly, you're right. The imperfections of the characters is what makes this show so perfect! A little patience is needed from us.😊

I agree and we have known this since the strat that dev would choose his mom over his loveBut I don't want dev's character to do this in a way from where there is no returnI want him to crave for sona and realize her importance and worth in his life but at the same time I don't want sona to become a rejected soul I want her to become a strong woman who never stop loving him in her heart but can't keep up with his mama's boy attitude

I am totally with you on this post!
Dev is being a typical guy here and it saddens me because that is a harsh reality we girls have to face!
Coming to Sonakshi... I share a similar relation with my dad... And we share Everything! Sona can't do this to her family! They deserve to know it all and I think this is one reason Sona is being extremely straight forward to Dev and wan him to cone out in the open with regard to their relationship!
The episode had not much ... But too much for my liking!
I hope there will be a better tmrw!

I am glad to know that my reply made you feel better. First of all we need to ACCEPT them the way they are. They all are flawed characters and none of them are perfect(I am really glad about that). Let us not look at them through our rose-tinted glasses. šŸ¤—

Let me try to put my 2 cents here. Let us just rewind little and go back to past when Sona realised her love for Dev. She was on cloud 9 in those initial days. How many times she tried(failed) to confess her feelings to Dev? How many times Elena pushed her? Even after so many attempts still she was not able to confess. She understood the depth her feelings towards Dev only when she was about to lose him to Natasha. Now think about Dev and his current situation and i hope i was able to make some sense. šŸ˜†

Love is like that.. it makes people lose their sense of balance and alertness. I do not know why or what, it just happens.. it has taken over Sona and Dev.. now they are coming back to their consciousness.. the experience of staying apart wakes you up. it has woken up Sona and Sona in turn is waking up Dev... he literally wants to go to sleep with good feelings, emotions, phone et all, but heck, not with the real Sona!! 😊😊

Sona, now that you have woken up, shake the hell out of these Dixits!!

First of all thank you so much for sharing your POV... But i have something else to say about the episode. Don't know why but i felt connected after watching the episode.

1st for Ishwari's character... She is now in a denial mode as of now. She's aware that Dev is in love with Sona, still don't want to accept it. Her insecurities and possessiveness for her son was always the same, but now she has started showing it. The chulha scene in the end was because she thinks she is slowly losing the importance in Dev's life, which is ofcourse false, but after hearing Sona's name from Dev in the sub-concious state she is shaken. And yes i have seen over possessive people doing these kind of stupid things to grab attention.

2nd for Dev... He was always like this. It is Ishwari who thinks Dev shares everything with her, which is not true. And for Dev to tell about DevAkshi relationship to his mom or to anyone is not easy. He has told Sona, it is only her to whom he can talk anything and everything without any inhibition. But this is not the case with his mom. He always think before talking to her. It is not that he doesn't value Sona. He odes... But as he said, she's her own... He needed someone like Sona in life to whom he can share all his feeling... Whether right or wrong... And she understands him well.

And everybody is saying he should have told his mum. But guys, it happens with most of us. It is not easy to tell your parents about your love life. It was only his first attempt to tell her. Obviously he will tell her. But he couldn't gather the courage this time. And we need to consider it as he also is a human.

3rd for Sona... Sona is a sweetheart... I beg to disagree that she is ignoring her family. It is just that She wants Dev to tell his mom first about them. She is aware Dev was not ready to share it with anyone till now. She just wanted him to be ready. Once he tell it to his mom, she will share it with her family the same day. And she want to do that we know... We all know Bose family is very supportive and they will the happiest to know about DevAkshi and Sona is absolutely sure about it. She's not hurting her family by any way, but is just taking some time. And in the last episode the way she looked at her mother when her father was saying you can talk to me as a friend... It was visible how much she love her mother. She's not ignoring her mother...!!!

This is my POV about the episode and the central characters.😊
