Ishwari like any mother will be possessive over her son that is not the real issue with her her biggest problem is she is living in her past when her son was a small boy .

Dev has no idea how his mother reacts to Sona because he had known his mother to really like Sona

If you can see, Ishwari is behaving super rude with Sona, but somewhere even she is aware what she's doing is wrong... The way when Mamaji noticed her irritation after Sona checked her BP and went. She had guilt in her eyes... And when she came back from satsang, first she was very rude with Sona but realised and said thanks to her for taking care of Dev... She has not changed, but her over possessiveness for her son is making her do that.

We should keep full faith on the creatives. Lets see how will they buildup the future track.

Its that phase of the story where IShwari is shown to stoop too low so that later on they can lift her out of her guilt and redeem her. Just as they showed Sona upset and crying and heart broken during the time natasha was around, and then bang!!!!! we had her all elated after DEV confession. So now its Ishwaris turn to be redeemed.
