Chapter 16:
The morning sunshine woke Sonakshi up. Thankfully it had stopped raining. She felt really good and light and stretched herself but she just couldn't move. She opened her eyes fully and realized that a strong arm had caged her tightly in his hold rendering her immovable.
She was jolted awake...'Holy ... This isn't my room'.
Before she could scream ...the guy turned his face. Dev. DEV?!!!!
Now there is something one must know about Sonakshi Bose. She had always been a good girl. Obedient towards her parents, loving towards her siblings and dedicated towards her studies. Her only problem in life so far had been her failure in expressing her feelings clearly. And one of the persons who could literally read her inside out and the only person infront of whom her inhibitions could go flying out of the window was sleeping a few centimeters away from her today. He looked very peaceful with mouth slightly open. Sona couldn't help but smile at the way his mouth was slight ajar.
He literally sleeps like a baby' she thought.
Suddenly the realization came crashing down to her. She is in Dev's room, on his bed..entangled with him in a hotel. Last night flashed infront of her!
She did say everything in the spur of moment but once the lock of the door clicked..she realized the gravity of the situation she was in.
Dev was observing her. Her face was losing its color... rapidly. Interestingly he was calm today. Being impulsive was his thing not hers but strangely today there was role reversal.
"I want to set up some ground rules first"She stammered
"Hmmm..."He murmured
"This will be strictly physical. No emotions and nothing". He did not react.
"And this is only one time thing." He stepped towards her.'why isn't he saying anything' she thought.
"And also we will..." Her words died in her throat because Dev had claimed her mouth by then.
"Do you ever remember our Delhi days?"He asked softly.
"Huh?!"She was out of breath.
"What is there to remember?We both have moved on" She said the first thing which came to her mind.
"But I have some unanswered questions. Not sure if I can just let it go"
"Dev Dixit...we were kids back then. Its ancient history now. Why on earth would you want to bring it up when just few moments back I specifically asked you not to? Look...I just told you that I want something from you..if you want to accept then fine else I don't ..." Her sentence was incomplete because he again kissed her.
"We both know it can never be one time thing Sonakshi...let's stop fooling ourselves!" His voice was intimidating now.
"You were saying something before I interrupted. Your ground rules?" He added.
"I forgot" She looked down feeling like a fool because she did forget.
"Good!" he replied.
"And since it's just a Physical Thing' for you Don't you dare fall for me ..ever" He said cruelly.
She hesitatntly looked up at him. By his tone it was evident that her piece of bravado has been taken as a challenge by him.
The swirl of emotions that she saw in those brown eyes made her gasp. Lust and desire. However before she can reply he yanked her to him ,bent down, his lips against her cheek, brushing it lightly"and still that light touch sent shivers through her nerves, shivers that made her whole body tremble. "If you want me to stop, tell me now," he whispered hoarsly. When she still said nothing, he brushed his mouth against the hollow of her temple. "Or now." He traced the line of her cheekbone. "Or now." His lips were against hers.
"Or""
But she had reached up and pulled him down to her, and the rest of his words were lost against her mouth. He kissed her gently, carefully, but it wasn't gentleness she wanted, not now, not after all this time, and she knotted her fists in his shirt, pulling him harder against her. He groaned softly, low in his throat, and then his arms circled her, gathering her against him, and they rolled over on the bed, tangled together, still kissing. The weight of his body on top of her felt extraordinary. She felt him-all of him- pressed against her. His faint after shave was intoxicating her by the second and it was an effort to not lose herself into him. His face had the slightest bit of stubble and it rubbed her skin but she doesn't care. He felt wonderful.
His fingers gently ran up and down her spine,feeling the outline of her strap, coaxing shivers out of Sona. With her cheeks still blushing hotly, she glanced back up into his captivating brown eyes. He leaned down, resting his forehead against hers. Sona watched breathlessly as his eyes studied hers with silent intensity. His warm breath fanned across her face. She shut her eyes in anticipation and stifled a surprised gasp as he bit her neck. The heat seemed to travel through her veins, warming her.
"Did I hurt you?"His voice failed to mask the concern..as usual.
She shook her head vigorously.
He gave her no warning and just ripped her top open. Before anything could happen further he stilled.
"What's wrong?" She managed to ask.
"I don't have the protection"He said.
"You What?!!!!!"
"I said I don't have the protection"He repeated patiently.
"I don't believe this!!!"Sona was angry now.
"How on earth would I know that you would want to..."Dev tried.
"I freaking don't believe this!!!"
"Ok Listen.."He got up.
"No..you listen...just finish what you have started"She was not less stubborn at times.
"Are you out of your mind?"Dev was exasperated.
"Ofcourse I am..you think I came this far while thinking clearly?"
They had a heated argument. And she was so tired that she didn't even bother to go to her room. Sometime after that they both fell asleep.
To Sona it all seemed like a dream.
God No!!!!!!! What will he think about me now? What had came upon me last night? I literally begged him to go all the way with me just for the heck of it? And asked him to do it without getting emotional about it?No No No No...
She had to leave his room now. She tried to untangle herself from his arm but of no use. Somehow bit by bit she managed to free herself from him but as soon as she got up she noticed her top which was battered by now all thanks to the monster sleeping soundly on the bed.
Perfect...now how do I go out?' She thought wretchedly.
She tiptoed towards his cupboard and grabbed one of his shirt to cover herself. Never in her dream had she thought she will ever be stuck in such situation.
Noiselessly she turned towards the door praying nobody will notice her once she gets out. She had just turned when...
"Sona"Dev called from behind.
"Hi" She tried her best to answer casually..'god...was he awake all this while'
"Good Morning"He smiled lazily.
"Good morning to u too"
"You look nice in my shirt"He added.
"Ok" She literally had nothing to say. The situation was getting embarrassing by the second.
Now the silence was super awkward.
"I have been successful because of one prime reason."He said.
"Huh?"
"I finish what I started"he explained.
"Except last night" Sona said tartly.There was no way she would show her embarrassment to him.
"True...and there is another reason of my success"Dev continued.
"What?"
"I am good at damage control"He arched his eyebrows.
She opened her mouth and closed it again.
"Meaning?"He was making no sense now.
"This" He raised his hand.
The packet of durex glistened across the room.
"Asked the hotel staff while you were sleeping."He smiled.
