Great post...Eshwari ji & her insecurities for Dev is a package and thats what writers were indicating us time and again through Neha & Mami dialogues/taunts. In the initial episodes we just saw the trailer and now we are going to watch full movie.
As i have mentioned in Push-pull post, The only person because of whom i was able to tolerate y'day's episode was "Neha". I some how felt writers are trying to balance Eshwari ji OTT possessive drama with Neha's mature behavior. Interesting to see how a mother and a daughter are handling new relations/changes in their life.
There is one dialogue which stood out for me from y'day episode was "Agar bhai khush ho tho main bhi bahut khush hoon" by Neha. Its so nice to see this changing equation between these siblings. I really want to see more of it.
After seeing Dev's growing emotional attachment with sona, i was thinking in case if any separation is there in future then how this guy is going to survive. Other than Sona he really dont have any emotional support and this is not the case with Sona. Y'day Neha's dialogue gave me little hope.

Lovely analysis Saumiee!
Agree with you regarding Ishwari that she has always been portrayed like this. I don't think she was ok with Natasha's proposal too. It was the business deal that was making her wary of revealing her real feelings. The scene after Nats calling Ishwari on phone she is shown praying, asking help to be happy for her son. She even talks to Dev about his ardhangini, with tears in her eyes and Dev immediately pacifies her saying his mother will always remain the most important person for him and hugs her. The engagement ring selection scene, GKB n Neha trying to convince Ishwari for changing Dev's room scene all showed her displeasure. It was her knowledge that it was the deal n not for Natasha that Dev is going forward with the proposal that was her silver lining.

Coming to Dev hiding things from his mother : He was never forthright with his mother. He revealed only those things which were pleasant to her.His motto throughout have been she can't be hurt with what she doesn't know. Both the mother n son duo thinks they are like an open book to each other. The truth is far from it. It is just pretense all along.

Ishwari is acting hurt that Dev is hiding the truth from her. But actually she is surprised that she doesn't know her son as well as she thought. Dev have been testing the waters from the time he took Sona to select the Birthday gift saree. It ended up bad. The payal scene where Ishwari saw them she was downright rude to Dev. Even Mama was surprised hearing her tone. Her responses are actually making Dev close up even more. After his talk with Sona about informing everyone about their relationship ( Cafe scene) he again tried hinting his mother. When he told Ishwari that both of them think he was wrong in trying to gift Ranveer and blurts about Sona being the other person he could have lied just like the first time. Ishwari was ruder than before n said Sona is an outsider to his face. This she did even after realizing that Sona is not just someone for Dev.

Dev cannot take that chance with Sona the one thing he wants more than anything. His mother who is the most important person is giving him all the negative vibes. Even yesterdays episode where she corners Dev I got the vibes of a headmistress with a naughty kid more than a mother n son. Dev doesn't want to hurt them both but will end up hurting them both. His mother doesn't have an inkling how deeply Dev loves Sona. Dev will hide it from his mother. Everyone is going for a heartbreak and we will be through the wringer by that time. Waiting for the roller coaster ride.

Remember it's because of her possessive nature that Dev and Sona met in the first place😳.. Ishwari sends him out to buy something to avoid him being around with that girl (sister of the guy who was Neha's fianc)

Whatever happened to the subtlety that the makers were maintaining all this while.. Too loud scenes and actions to send out the message.. may be the audience didn't understand the subtlety. 😆

Very true. Ishwari's insecurities were always there and the way it was showed till now we all could atleast understand her conflicts and felt bad for her too.

But now she is just snapping at everyone including her brother, insulting Sona again n again, manipulating words to make Dev feel guilty. She is being dishonest to herself when she says all this is bcoz Dev has not confided in her about his relationship, bottomline is she cannot share Dev with anyone and thats a bit taking love to far. She wants Dev's full attention.

In the promo Ishwari is admiring at the picture whr Dev is touching Ishwari's feet, that is what she is looking for, Dev treating her mother like God.

It would still be okay is she suffer in silence, feel lonely, get sick for Dev to realise Ma is not happy to share his affection but doing all this crazy stuff cooking using stove etc. is just taking symphathisers away from her.

So true, It is so nice to see Neha finally growing out of her bad childhood.
Dev had Ishwari before Sona. .who he could not confide in even then..Sona is someone who has always been there to share Dev's feelings. . After she is gone, It will be extremely difficult for Dev to handle everything specially because Ishwari would also be emotionally distant from him after this point.
Neha's character development indicates that she may be the only support system Dev may have, who makes him realise that his Mom is not always right after all. It is only Neha who inspite of loving Ishwari so much, looks at her objectively and is never hesitant to find out her flaws and does not overlook them like Dev.
