Would it be an understatement if I said that the entire KRPKAB fandom probably needed help to revive after the episode today? Dev Dixit and Sonakshi Bose. First day of your official courtship period and you leave everyone reeling under nothing but a beautiful play of words.
These two really are unique. I remember being most impressed by their dance for this very reason... Very rarely do you see the chemistry and heat between two people turn up through simple conversation. Today reminded me of that. Ofcourse today was more than the usual friction we see between them. Today was intimate and deep and oh-so-beautiful!
I expected an extension of yesterday's scene so was surprised when we saw Dev dropping Sona home instead. I really liked how Sona understood and agreed with Dev over talking to Natasha first. Such things are essential for any healthy relationship. Dev locking the car door, unable to let her go and seeking assurance that it's only for a few hours was so sweet. It was no different than Sona's fear of falling asleep and waking up to find that this was yet another dream. It has all happened so fast that it's bound to feel completely surreal. That was lovely what he said that about them seeing and fulfilling their dreams together now. Kinda reminded me of the title of my last post hehe. I loved those giddy smiles and the look on their faces as she insists he drive away first. Adorable!
Sona's little dance of celebration.. This girl is so cute. Fever all gone now eh? 😆
Dev's voice in her head as she tries and text him - 😆 and that reference to Keechu bhaiyya 😆😆😆 When she ends up sending a single L, I think all of us went back to the time that she sent him a similar message only with an H. Such a sweet little throwback! I loved how Dev called her, fully aware that she was probably trying to type something for ages yet only sent him one letter. Guy knows his girl well!
Dev humming songs when Ishwari and Radha Rani walk in.. No surprises there. My favorite part about this scene was the faith with which Dev stated his very simple reason to believe that Ranveer and Neha would never break up - They are in love. It's a nice bit of foreshadowing for what lies in store for our leads as well. So good to see the belief and assurance that Dev now has with regards to the importance of love and the role it plays in a relationship.
Sona peeking in before entering - 😆 And that little acknowledgement that Dev is her BOYFRIEND now, a very important word. Sooo cute! 😆 Both of them blundering a bit by instinctively calling each other by their first name... This little game of hide and seek is going to be so much fun! 😃
And now what's mostly likely not just mine but everyone else's favorite scene of the day... Sona finally coming to see a very impatient Dev. *sigh* Such a beautiful scene! When she asks him to back away a little because she absolutely can't relax with him so close to her - he could have teased her by coming even closer but Dev's idea of intimacy is something else entirely. That statement he made about spending 27 years without her and not wanting to waste a moment more... What is this character anyway? The fact that Dev absolutely doesn't take Sona's presence in his life for granted and instead recognizes it for the sacred, beautiful thing it is and how lucky he is to have her is just... She has helped him find himself in a way that not only does he know what it is to be complete but also that she is the only person with whom he can feel that way. His sweet little acknowledgement of his need to keep her close probably being selfish followed by the statement that just about took my heart - "Tum se pehle aaj tak, maine apne liye kisi cheez ko chaha hi nahi. I need you for myself." Excuse me while I go die. Dev's belief that without Sona he... would cease to be. That without Sonakshi Bose, Dev just Dev.. Not the businessman, not the savior everyone looks up to, just that man who has only ever known a terrible kind of loneliness all his life, that Dev.. would not exist - Good God. It's been a DAY.
And this isn't even the last of it. When he scolds her lightly for not telling him earlier how she felt and saying he'd forgive her only on one condition... That she tell her everything, simply everything about herself. That look of pure reverence in his eyes when he says - "Kuch nai jaanta main aapke baare mein." Hit me so hard. This is the only way Dev Dixit knows how to love. In that moment he wasn't just looking at Sonakshi Bose, a normal woman like you or I, he was looking at this... this Goddess who had captured his heart and infused so much of her own magic into his dull life, showing him beauty and colors in places where he only ever saw pain.
Last night he gave all of himself to her, he told her his life's story and now he wants the same from her. To want to know a person more than they know themselves... I will say again... True intimacy isn't about when your bodies touch, it's when you own a person, know a person in their soul. And that is what Dev wants from Sonakshi. A man actually looking beyond the physical aspects of a relationship and yearning to know a woman's mind and heart instead simply to feel closer to her is just the purest form of love to me. His little explanation when Sona points out that all those things are now in the past was so so touching. That he wants their relationship to feel like it has spanned across the course of a lifetime and not a few days or months... I normally don't say this for most characters but please find me a Dev Dixit.
Shaheer you did beautiful beautiful job in this scene. The voice modulation, the emotion in your eyes, every word sounding sincere and from the heart... Probably one of your best performances on the show! 👏
That little bit where she bangs her head was so sweet as well. I loved the look in Sona's eyes as she just watched him take care of her. The fact that all of this is still so overwhelming for her is so real. She's spent so many sleepless nights and dreamed so many dreams only to have them crushed. She's known pain and loss and heartbreak whereas Dev hasn't so it's going to take a little while for Sona to truly open up. Her state reminds me of this old hindi classic -
"Aap ki nazron ne samjha pyar ke qaabil mujhe,
Dil ki ae dhadkan thehar jaa, mil gai manzil mujhe."
That said, I can't wait to see the intense, fiery Sona... She'll get there for sure, once it finally sinks that all this is real, that Dev belongs to her and that she has his heart just as much as he has hers.
Loved that song sequence too. They are quite literally falling and jumping in love. 😆 Dev choosing to sit at the opposite end of where he usually sits - Dude wasn't kidding when he said he wants her infront of him 24/7. 😆 That mischievous smirk was to die for! Tina's bewilderment over her workaholic boss finding a 2 hours delay in meetings VERY agreeable - 🤣 I loved Sona's reactions as she listened to every word of that conversation. And finally...That walk! Leaning in a little more than necessary and biting into that carrot... ☺️ Dev Dixit! Who knew? 😲 Flirting definitely comes so naturally to this guy. It's really the straight-as-a-rod ones you should watch out for.
1300 words again. Precision will never be my thing. Until tomorrow then! Oh and lastly the biggest hug and thank you to the writers for such incredible writing. THANK YOU for your efforts. Dev and Sona wouldn't be so special if it weren't for the depth you have lent to them.
