They broke the hug...
Still on their knees she wiped his tears...
Ishwari who was witnessing all this, couldn't believe her eyes..
For the first time in her life she had seen her son break down and somewhere deep down she knew she was responsible for this...
She couldn't take it anymore...
She went back to her room...
Nikki and riya were about to follow her but neha stopped them...
Neha by now knew exactly what the situation was...
Today for once she wanted her brother to be like her...
She wanted him to be a little stubborn and little bit selfish and think about his own happiness for once..
To be that small kid who never gives up until his mother doesn't give him the favourite cake or pie he likes...
Even she couldn't see him this way...
Two hours had passed...Dev and Sona sat there against the wall hand in hand...
And finally Sona spoke..
" Dev mujhe chalna chahiye...Late ho gaya hai "
" Mai tumhe ghar drop kar deta hoon " he said out of habit as if nothing had changed...
Sona just kept looking at him and then tilted her head and smiled...
" Mai ghar nhi ja rahi hoon, i need some time alone, dont worry mai ghar pohochate hi msg karungi " saying so she took his hand in hers to reassure him that she was going to be okay...
As much as she never wanted to leave his hand or him, she had to ...
Thats what fate had in store for her...For them...
She slowly let go off his hand and stood up and walked to the door...
Before leaving his room she turned back to see him, only to find him already staring at her...
Given all that had happened in the past few days, the uncertain future of theirs, the decisions to be made, she knew one thing that was gonna stay the same forever...
Its was THEIR LOVE...
People change , circumstances change ,priorities change,people move on, but as we move on, we all carry some part of the people we once loved or left behind on our way in life...
She knew he was always going to be a part of her and she, his...come what may ...
People will enter their lives, may be they will have to put them at the top of the priority list...
But deep down they will be locked safely in each other's hearts...
She just smiled at him and said
" I love you, I will always love you " her smiled widened as she completed her sentence...
" Me too " Dev said with a small smile on his face...
He was amused by the fact, that given the situation right now, she still never failed to surprise him even today ...She never failed to make him feel special for her and that he mattered the most to her, even now...
Sona left and Dev was no more scared...Because he knew he was not alone in this...They were in this together...He just laid back with his head against the wall and in no time he fell asleep...
Sona walked in the direction of Dev's office building...
The area was for commercial buildings...So there were several high rise buildings in that area, including Dev's office building...She walked through the enterance...
The watchman by now knew her because of her frequent visits...
She took the elevator and directly went to the terrace...
As soon as the elevator clicked open, wind brushed onto her face and her hair...
She smiled and walked out...
It was the most peaceful place for her in this whole city...
High rise building's roof top...
Away from the hustle of the entire city...
Even though alone it felt good there...
Sometimes by being alone with yourself you experinece and live the best memories of your life...
Even Sona wanted that today...
Nobody used to come there as everyone was busy during office hours and after office nobody even bothered to stay in the office even for one single extra minute...
She was the one to use this space for the first time..
The wind there flowed like music...
It was peaceful...
And this place had so many memories of them...
She smiled as she recollected his birthday night...
*** 8 months ago ****
" Dev, kya aap aaj mujhse raat ko 11:30 tak apne office mein mil sakte hai " she said as she was talking to him on phone...
It was his birthday tomorrow...
She could have chosen any other place but then he wouldn't have allowed her to come there alone...
And she had a surprise for him...
So his office was her safetest option...
" office mein, itani raat ko ?
But kyu sona, baat kya hai ? " he asked as he was surprised by her unusual demand...
" Ohh hoo, aap kitne sawal puchate hai...bus aa jana time pe...I will be waiting " saying so she hung up on him, giving him no chance to argue...
It was 11:15 pm and he was about to leave...
" Dev itani raat ko kahan ja raha hai beta " Ishwari asked him as she came out of nowhere...
He just stood there...He had no idea what to say...
And then to his surprise his backup came to save him...
" arey maa, wo aaj bhai ki unke american cilents ke saath video conference hai " riya said as she knew where he was going...
It was now a routine for the three sisters to have Dev's back at odd hours ...
But they happily did it and thats what siblings do...
Because after all these years they got to be the fun sisters that tease their brother, pull his leg, fight with him, threaten him to tell the family his sceret if their demands ever not fulfilled, be happy with him in his special moments of happiness, and be there to support him when sad after his fights with Sona...
Sisterhood was in the best phase, and they were enjoying it to the fullest...
They knew even if it was their first chance, it was going to be their last ...
As Sona was the first and was going to be last woman in his life...
So they enjoyed it to the fullest...
" Par itani raat ko " ishwari asked...
" Arey maa, yaha raat hoti hai wo waha subha...So agar bhaiiya ko deal chahiye to unke hisab se chalna hoga na " she said trying to cover up...
" Accha theek hai, jyada der mat karna, jaldi ghar aa jana..." she said with concern...
Dev hugged her and asked her not to be tensed and that he will be back soon and nodded at riya with a thank you smile for saving him...
By now Sona had asked Tina about every corner of the office...
For safety reasons she did tell him to meet her at the office.., but it was not the romantic type of place at all...
After all it was Mr. Dev Dixit's office for 7 years...
Then something clicked her ...
" Tina terrace to hoga na " she asked hurridly...
" Haa maam, but band hai wo..koi nahi jaata waha" tina replied...
" Perfect ! Bus ab ek kaam karo watchman ko bolo ki door open kar de...Thank you so much i owe you big time and sorry tumhe itana late meri wajaise aana pada...But thank you again " she hugged her tightly and ran towards the elevator...
Tina was happy to see her boss change for the better...
She was happy that he had someone to take care of him, his life , to make him happy...
Sona was the best thing that had happened to him...
She just smiled and went to call the watchman...
In ten minutes the watchman had opened the door and the staff had cleaned the terrace...
She was surprised to see them work at this hour...
She thanked them all and was super excited to give Dev his gift...
" mai aa gaya office...kahan hai aap...Mai cabin mein hoon " he asked
" Maine kab kahan ki cabin mein milana hai" she said teasing him with a grin on her face...
" matlab ? Aapne office bola tha..toh office mein aur kahan milenge " he asked...
" mai terrace pe hoon, jaldi aao"
Saying so she hung up...
Dev was amused by her sudden chirpy behaviour...
As the elevator clicked open Dev was dumbstruck by the picture in front of him...
The terrace was decorated with fairy lights and paper lanterns...
As if it was the only place celebrating while the entire city was busy with something else...
It made him feel special...
Very much important...
It felt good that he mattered so much to the person who mattered him the most...
But admist those glowing fairy lights and laterns stood the face that glowed the most of them all...
It was Sona in a simple salwar kameez and duppatta smiling at him continously, as if she was waiting for him to react and say something...
The twinkle in her eyes was no comprison to the twinkling fairy lights...
Her face was soothing and pleasant..
If given and option he could just stand there and keep staring at her all his life...
SHE WAS PERFECT...
Dev came out of the elevator and felt the breeze...
" Yeh sab kya hai Sona" he asked rather surprised...
" yeh fairy lights hai, yeh laterns hai aur yeh aapke liye ready huyi, mai hoon " she said with a wide smile on her face...
She seemed satisfied as if she had achieved whatever she wanted to...
Dev couldn't help but smile at her honest but cute confession...
She looked heavenly...
Minimal jewels, simple outfit the regular Sonakshi Bose style but what made her heavenly today was the glow that her face beamed ...
The lights made her face glow even more...That was heavenly to witness and peaceful..
He walked towards her as his eyes were still fixed on her face...
Even she did not shy away today...
Something was up today..
The vibes that place were giving him were something magical, as if it was pouring out love from everywhere...
He walked to her and stood before her, now just centimetres apart...
" Son..." he tried to complete but suddenly sona placed her finger on his lips...
" Ssshhh... Aap waise nhi late hai...its 11.57..." saying so she closed his eyes with one hand and kept her other hand on his broad shoulders for support as she got on her toes to match his height and slowly brought her lips close to his ears and whispered
" Now make a wish Dev "
Her breathe electrified his entire body...He started to feel his heart beat ...
His heart was pounding very fast...Her touch was enough make him feel a chill through his spine but now this, his was out of control...
He himself was always surprised to the effect she had on him whenever they were very close...
But being the most loyal boyfriend he was, he controlled himself ,did not argue with her and made n wish...
After a minute or so she slowly removed her hands off his eyes and stared back in his eyes...
He gaze was out of the world...
And everytime she looked in his eyes, she always found herself in them...
That made her feel so special...
But now was not the time to get lost in his beautiful eyes and how much he loved her..
Today was to make him know hoe much she loved him...so she gathered her thoughts and while coming down on her feet still keeping her hand on his shoulder, Sonakshi Bose decide to take a detour, smiled air herself and she gently kissed him on his cheek and again wishpered in his ears
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEV "
Dev's happiness knew no bounds now...
Never in his life he had felt so so special...
He knew everybody loved him a lot and he meant a lot to them but sometimes just knowing is not enough, feeling it matters and it gives new dimensions to the relationships...
And that's what happened today...The Dev Dixit who was supposed to surprise people and take care of their happiness and shower his love to make them feel special, today was at the receiving end...
And even he couldn't lie or deny the fact...
IT FELT SO GOOD...
To be someone's priority, to be so special for someone, to be such an important part of their life, to see them take efforts to make him feel special...
it felt good...really good...
It was something he had never felt or experienced today...
And to add to his happiness, the kiss was cheery on cake ...
His eyes were moist...
He was overwhemled...
Sona slowly got down on her feet and saw his face...
Her smiled vanished as she saw tears in his eyes...
" Dev aapko accha nhi laga ???
Im so sorry, i know aapne bola tha aapko birthday celebrations and sab pasand nhi and aapne ghar pe bhi sabko mana kara hai isliye maine cake and baaki sab bhi kuch jyada nahi laya par maine socha wo main ..."
" Ssshhh, kitana bolati ho tum" he placed his finger on her lips and Sona was taken aback by this sudden change...
She glanced at his finger on her lips and then again back at him...He had a smile that reached his eyes...
The tears in eyes, shined liked stars...He was not sad or mad at her...He was happy...Really very happy...
" Thank you, IT'S PERFECT "
For Dev Dixit to be saying this, it meant a lot...
Even Sona knew today his minimal words expressed thousands of emotions and happiness...
That moment she realised, its not necessary to always go the classic way with the candles and the cake or the flowers, somethings small things matter much more...
Still standing close, engrossed in each others eyes, they expressed a hell lot of things today...LOVE changes you for better...
He was happy that she respected his demands of not celebrating the traditional way, but at the same time she in her own way made him feel like the most loved person on this planet...
He was grateful to her that though she wanted it to be grand, she respected what he wanted...
At the same time Sona was happy, as for the person who never celebrated his birthday, to accept her efforts and celebrate and share the moments with her, said a lot about his love for her...
Today, both of them knew that both of them had changed a little for the other person, but that change was magical, peaceful, yet satisfying in some way...
Today, they truely completed each other...
" Accha toh ab mera gift kahan hai ? " saying so Dev broke the unspoken conversation between them...
Sona couldn't believe it...Now he wanted a gift ?
The very same guy who ate her head for an entire week stating or rather brain washing her for no party, no gifts, no grand celebrations on his birthday...
" Layi ho ya nahi ? " he asked with a playful smile on his face..
Sona with sad face said no, even she wanted to play along now...
Dev was surprisingly sad... even he was shocked...He was the one who asked not to do anything and yet he expected her to get a gift for him...
To hide in confusion he just made up something to tease her
"Haawww Sona... kaisi girlfriend ho yaar, maine mana kiya aur tum maan gayi ?
Baaki koi bhi cheez toh manti nahi ho, bus yehi maan gayi ? "
He said with a sad look on his face while he stood there with cross folded hands...
Sona's smiled widened and then suddenly she started walking towards the terrace railing...
The terrace had two banches before the railings, may be for the people to enjoy the view...
As Sona was climbing on the bench Dev shouted...
" Sona careful, kya kar rahi hoon, kya bachapana hai yeh, niche utaro abhi ..."
But nothing was going to stop her today...
" Aapko aapka gift de rahi hoon Dev " she shouted as she swaged both her hands wide open in the air...
Dev thought she was trying to feel the breeze like she did during the rains, but he was wrong again...
Sonakshi Bose managed to surprise him everyday...
" Gift de rahi hoo, Matlab ? " even he had to shout as the wind was flowing and she was on that bench...
With her hands still wide open, she looked up at the sky, closed her eyes, took a deep breath, opened them and just smiled at him...
And what came after, was the best moment of Dev Dixit's life...
" I LOVE YOU DEVVV...
I LOVE YOU SOOO MUCHHH...
YOU ARE MINE ONLY MINE" she shouted with all the strength she had...
She had told him that many times in her dreams but today she was shouting it out loud to him in front of the entire world to witness her confession...
For Dev , it was the best moment he could have ever experienced...May be not celebrating his birthday for 29 years finally paid off today...
Even after he confessed, 3 months had passed, but she had never said it...
He knew she loved him unconditionally, and there was no need for the traditional i love yous, because he knew it so he didn't even feel the need to make her say that...
But then again sometimes knowing is not enough...
Listening her shout with her hands wide open, as if she was confessing it in front of the whole world, claiming her possesion on him was surprisingly Reassuring...
Who said only children needed to reassured, sometimes even the oldest of the souls need to be reassured, need to be loved like they mean the world, they need to showed what loving them means to that person...
Right words at the right time, in front of the right person are like a magic spell, that just makes the person feel the magic and believe in the magic..
THE MAGIC OF LOVE...
Everybody knows about it, about its existence but only few are lucky to experience it...
And today Dev Dixit was that one lucky guy...
He knew it all along, but today he LIVED it...
HE LIVED THAT MOMENT...
It was the most wonderful feeling of his existence...
He just stood there smiling and looking at her as her words echoed in his ears...
That she loved him, he was hers and only hers...
He liked the claim she showed on him...
That feeling of being wanted by the person you love, boosts up all the feelings one has...
Even he didn't know why, but he felt like doing something...
He ran towards the other bench, climbed up, swaged his hands wides open in the air, closed his eyes, felt the breeze kiss his cheeks, took a deep breath and even he shouted...
" I LOVEEE YOU SOOO MUCHHH SONAKSHI BOSE...
YOU ARE MINE ONLY MINE ..."
Sona who had stopped for a second, saw him run towards the other bench, open his arms and say it...Tears of happiness rolled down her cheeks as she heard him shout out her name in front of the world...
Claiming her to be his...
That moment...
It was MAGICAL...
He was MAGICAL...
Their love was MAGICAL...
In that moment she thanked all her stars for giving her the best gift of her life, a thousand times...
She was grateful to every god,
for makimg him the man of her life...
She had the widest smile carved on her face, watching him; her life,her love,her best friend,her everything; across her...
In that moment LIFE WAS COMPLETE.. and then even she joined him again...
Their shout out to the world continued for a while...
Both confessing their love for each other and letting the world know what they mean to each other...
Two matured grown ups in love , behaving like kids, claiming the right on, as to what was theirs...
That was the magic of love...
That night, they had casted the magical spell, out there in open, on the entire world...
It was the magic of THIER LOVE...
That night, that hour, that moment... the world was a better place to be in...

After two heavy and emotional parts, i wanted the next two be light yet full of Devakshi magic...
