PART V

"Until you are not in middle of it, you won't feel that love is life's best adventure."

"Adventure, how?" a surprised Dev questions himself while searching on his phone how to propose to your first love.
It's a quest, all the time and the best part is, you may enjoy every part of it, if you think that you will have to work hard on it, no matter what happens in the world around you.
The first person to reach the venue is Dev's mother ISHWARI, he receives her , touches her feet to have her blessings and shows her the well decorated , heaven feel of the hall.
"Yeh toh bohot acha hai Dev." impressed by the efforts of people.
He smiles and approves to his mother. " maa, Neha, Nikki kahan hain?"
"Unhe aane mein thoda time lagega" she replies.

Dev checks out the food, he excuses himself to something for her. There Ishwari looks worried of something, something is bothering her, it's about Natasha-Dev, it's about the deal, it's about the deal is due to Natasha. Earlier, this afternoon, Mr. Gujral visited her and as Ishwari would do, she welcomed him.

"Thank you, Ishwari Ji for this tea, it's amazing and pure desi with half milk, half water, usually we don't drink this way now."...he smiles in between "It's unhealthy as per Doctors"

"Ji Shukriya," she replies with the same laugh.


"Ishwari ji,ek baat kahun aapse, agar aapko Bura na lage toh"


"ji, Kahiye" she gives an approved glance.

"Ishwari ji, Natasha is my only child, I have done my best for her, now she is grown and has come in a stage where her marriage should happen." he takes a pause and shifts a little to speak further.

" I know you understand that every parent want a best person for their children, aap ki bhi 3 betiyaan hai, aap iss baat ko ache se samajh sakte hain" before he speaks further, she understood " aap mujhse Dev ka haath mang rahe hain?" she confirms from him and he nods a yes.
Not only Dev, he explained how the deal took place, why Natasha wanted to join Dev's company despite him being not able to reach us at first place for the partnership. He explained, how others were loosing in front of Dev and finally Dev's meeting with Natasha impressed her.


" Ishwari Ji Dev is a gentle person."

"maa, aapke liye yeh kabab, yeh Kha lo, mein Dr. Bose se nahi kahunga" he smile as he shares a cute rapport and that brings her back to current time frame.
He holds the plate for her and she takes a piece of it. "Maa, tu khuch soch rahi hai" he asks looking at her face, as if something is bothering her.
She looks back at him, looks around her area, the decorated hall, thinks the reason of celebration and how much he waited for this deal.

He places her her on his head, "agar mein kuch kahungi toh manega"
"yeh bhi koi puchne ki baat hai" he claims confidently.

" Tujhe Natasha pasand hai." she questions.

A perplexed look he gave to her "matlab?"


"Marry her!" she claims the right on her son. He is not sad, he is confused over the fact."kya hua Maa, aise achanak se.?"

"achanak nahi, agar tujhe yeh deal leni hai jo Mr. Gujral ne di hai toh Natasha se shaadi karle"
getting up at his mother's sudden decision, he looks around loosing breaths, he loses his tie to get some air. He seems to get in a stae of shear shock.
"kya hua Dev?" she gets up too.
"par Maa, deal ke liye koi shaadi thodi karta hai" he explainsback
"Deal ke liye nahi, Achi ladki ke liye aur fir deal toh mil hi rahi hai." she says trying to hold his nervousness.
" aur pata hai Dr. Sonakshi ne bhi kaha Natsha achi ladki, uski baat toh tu sunta hi hai, Pata hai jab Mr. Gujral gaye toh mein soch mein pad gayi, lekin uss ladki ne sahara diya, haan woh thodi alag dikhi yeh baat karte hue..par..."she explains him the whole course of conversation with her that made Dev angry.
Everyone started arriving for the event, hiding his anger inside, he greeted everyone as humbly as he could with this revelation that Sonakshi approved the marriage.
He ia waiting eagerly for Sonakshi, to much of his wait Mr. Gujral has been arrived with his daughter Natsha who was wearing royal blue gown designed by Manish Malhotra and looking too beautiful, for a moment he looked mesmerized by her looks but as he looks at her smiling face, Sonakshi's face pops up in his thought, he greeted Mr. Gujral specially and handled him personally all the time. There his sisters arrives too and he thought now is the time Sonakshi should be coming, he thinks she must have been the help for his sisters like all the time.
Nikki started the playful acts for the events with all joy and fun and felt special to be holding up the event for his brother. Throughout the dance time, Dev and Natasha are been selected to dance together. The moment he holds her hand, he feels the urge from her to have him in her life. Unknowingly, she comes close which makes Dev uncomfortable but he manages to not show to anyone.
His eyes are looking at the entry for her, why is she not coming? he thinks.
Mr. Gujral gives a speech of how overwhelmed he was to meet the young guy and saw the best of future for companies. but now was the turn for the man of event to give speech at the annual function of his company.
He smiles fake and speaks with less heart this time " I don't know how to thank you all, I have no words or rather I don't know how to use words", he further adds " this is my mother's hard work and less of mine and I have said many times before and adding to it is all you, who are working for me."
"This annual function is a proof of our hard work and I request you all to keep on working hard like this and we all grow to heights, Thank you!"
Till he is on stage, he questions himself "where are you Bose?" he looks by his watch.
"This is not done Sona" he glances at the entry and hold himself to drop tear in front of everyone.
He wanted everyone to leave and finally when important guest left, he asked his mother that he has to go somewhere right now. Without waiting for his mother's any reaction or question, he leaves.
While getting over with the functions, he is sending his mother and sister too. When everyone is gone he cried his heart on the glass he is holding and crushed it, resulting heavy bleeding, he take an exit to washroom before anyone sees him in such condition. He chooses one of the loo , shuts it's door, sits down sliding against the door, keeps his head on his knees while hugging them.
"What do I do, now?" he cries.
"Sonaaa" he cries her name out loud., taking out his phone, he texts her " Where are you.?"
He gets no replies, texts again "You broke me today!"
"I am coming to you now, don't try to run away DR.BOSE." he texts her in anger.
He exits the venue crashing everything that came in front of him. Opening the door of car he enters and drives rash on roads to reach the place of his destination.
He calls her, no answer, he calls her again, no answer from the other side.
He finally gets out and knocks the door.
"Mrs. Bose, Is Dr. Bose awake, I need to meet her right now." he calms himself down, keeping his injured hand behind him.
"Mr. Dixit, what happened?, you seem so devastated? Is everything ok." A concerned mother asks instead of Mrs. Bose.
"kuch nahi, bas abhi Dr. Bose se baat ho sakti hai." as he is speaking and receiving a reply from her mother, Sona calls from behind her "Mr. Dixit, what happened, is everything Ok?" she shows her concern, "Aunty ji theek hai na? I hope she didn't have anything strange in the party."
When her mother is facing her, Dev directs Sona to send her mother inside with his eyes.
"Uu, Maa, aap jao, Mr Dixit, please come in." she holds her mother and takes her to her room.
"aare par.." mother asks But before she speaks Dev relaxes her.." Aunty ji, I just need her for some time, she will be fine with me."
"I know Dev." she supports, she greets good night and while going back " I hope everything is fine Dev and Sona if you need anything just call me and make Dev Babu sit, I don't know why but he looks tired and if his mother is not fine, just go." She shows her trusts in Dev which makes Sonakshi nervous, "Yes Aunty ji, I will be taking her and thank you for trusting me." he thanked her.

When Aunty ji goes back to sleep, Dev holds Sonakshi's hand with his bleeding hand and drags her out of his house, she looked nervous and cried "What happened to your hand?"
She pleads but he is in no mood to listen, she feels his pain "Dev please let me check, it's bleeding and it's not good." they reach to the car.
He shows his anger in his eyes to her, they both are silence, he is clenching his jaw.
"kya hua" she asks with filled heavy voice holding his hand with love.
" Tumhe pata hai, kya hua hai Sona.!" he replies in same tone.
"it's important for you Dev" tears rolled down, closing her eyes to take in the fact for his marriage.
He breaths heavy still bated, "I am hurt Sona"
She checks out the first aid box in the car in hurry and luckily she got one. Cleanses his hand, applying ointment on the cut and bandage the hand.
"I don't know what to do Dev" while applying ointment.
They both hugged each other in a hope to not spare apart, a tight hug, hiding their eyes in between each other to avoid tears rolling down.
"Please Sona, do something" he cries holding each other tight.
