Karan Johar down with food poisoning

Director Karan Johar is suffering from a bad case of food poisoning that has him stuck at home for a few days now. The director who will soon be seen in paint commercial with one of his favourite actresses, Kareena Kapoor, is currently recuperating at home.

"Karan has been quite unwell for the past few days. He is staying at home and not stepping out. Considering the rains and the infection that goes with it a stomach infection is quite common," says a friend of the director, "but Karan had a very bad case of poisoning. He was in a very bad state and is recuperating."Karan is hoping to recover quickly as he is has been invited to Paris by the French luxury house LVMH for the launch of a new champagne with a bottle designed by Karl Lagerfeld. "Karan is looking forward to the event. Shilpa Shetty and Manish Malhotra are also invited for the event. Karan enjoys going to such events as he feels he gets to spread the word about Bollywood internationally," says Karan's friend.Once back on his feet Johar is expected to work on his associate director Tarun Mansukhani's directorial debut. So far Abhishek and Aishwarya Bachchan have been confirmed and it seems John Abraham might be joining them as Saif Ali Khan turned down the role.
