Why only Bride and Prejudice you should have seen her giggle in the Oprah Winfrey Show, it was pathetic. I don't hate her but sometimes she is over the top. 😃

How narrow-minded to suggest that someone's South Indian accent put you off. Tabu is from Hyderabad incidentally, and her accent is no way 'South Indian'. Her accent is that of a person, who speaks more Hindi than English....pray tell me... whats wrong with that.

I am sure a lot of people will lap up and even find cute, Penelope Cruz's or Juliet Binoche's ethnic accents just becos they are Hollywood's stars...

oh well....

Koffee with karan is a Coffe talk....They are invited to have coffe and talk, do you think they need to change their style while talking...Common get a life let people be people, y do they need to change and fake...why can't they live their own style.....
Every body has their own accent depends on their country...state etc....English is not Tabu's mother tongue and for people whose mother tongue is English, also the accent varies.....
This show is basically communicating; and communication is exchange of ideas or thoughts not Grammer or accent. So please do not post any topic this way which hurts a person or a community(in this case South India)....
In case if you never meant to hurt them or her then your idea is not properly communicated...
I'm not being rude I just want you to treat all the same and enjoy the show and your time in IF.......

Tabu is a Hyderabadi whose mother tongue is Urdu. Her accent has nothing to do with any South Indian language because she can hardly speak one. Even on Indian Idol she mentioned that and tried to mouth a line for Karunya in Telugu. She is clumsy the way she walks and talks and her accent was just that. She is one of the realistic actors in the Hindi film industry.

Even otherwise everyone has an accent and as long as one has clarity in the language it shouldn't be a trouble to understand.

The funniest accent I heard recently was Yash Chopra speaking in English with a heavy Punjabi accent and unclear English in Filmfare awards. Such people should speak in Hindi or Punjabi because any language is impossible to understand if it is not clear.
