SLB: Ashwariya is, is a star. Ashwariya is i think she's got that aura

K: And Rani si Not?

SLB: Rani is the girl next door. She's cracked, she's completely mad and i had a wonderful working relationship with her. And i think she, she doesnt have the aura of a star but i think she's a Fantastic actress

K: Yes she is

SLB: And i found that they are completely different people altogether

K: But how does it feel Ashwariya to i mean, did it break your heart to know that there was another Leading Lady on Leela Bhansali's sets

A: No not, not, not because you know that decision that already happened when i was not doing Baji Rao Mastani.

K: Yah

A: So its kind of so, if there had to be that emotion that kind of already ammm gone through that point itself so its not that if at all... i kinda prepare myself that i'm not gona be working with him and which obvisouly what we share again and this kind of... its what come in a friend. There's a kind of posessive street but not so much that i cannot see him working with anybody else...

K: Particularaly it was Rani who you also had a kind of a problem with, hadnt you?

I think SLB was right, Aish has an aura of a star and massive screen presence...Rani, despite her wonderful acting skills and gorgeous looks, lacks that aura...and of course SLB is a director...he has a broader and a much mature viewpoint for he has worked with many ppl and for many years...

and abt that whole Aish-Rani fight thing, I do agree with Aish that its been overblown, only because when she got kicked out of chalte chalte...Rani stepped in...and that was okay with her but what bothered her was that she and rani were the best of friends and Rani couldn't make one phone call letter her know that, "hey aish...is it okay with u..." I mean just a courtesy call...not actually asking for permission..

but I did see the pics of Black's premiere...and AIshwarywa was there...so there u have it...both of them are still in touch, they might not be as close as they used to be, but they still are very much cordial towards each other..

off hand I'd say..Aishwarya handled this question abt her and Rani very diplomatically whereas Rani in her KWK episode played the blame game...that was very immature of her..

o well...all is well with them..

Rani, for all her great acting skills, definitely cannot compare with Aishwaria when you'd wanna use the word 'star'. We humans have a standard concept of beauty and Aishwaria is it. Of course there are more beautiful women than Aishwaria but of course with regards to being a star, Rani just doesn't cut it, though i do adore her alot. 😃

Aishwarya Rai as usual tried to avoid the topic all together. She does have this star like image.

Rani is the girl next door type of girl, but that is one of the reasons why I love her so much! She is an amazing actress and is gorgeous!

I very much hate ash so much. I think it was a little rude of SLB when he said what he said about rani on the show. It's not very smart to diss the star of your movie, seeing that she was the one to make it one of the top ten in Time's magazine!

Also ash is just trying to hard in films. Like she was okay in bollywood, but she should have waited to be on the very top to do hollywood movies. At let me tell you she wasn't on top! And seeing that she crashed and burned in hollywood, she's coming back to bollywood? Also all of the hollwood movies, she is doing are indian based!! Like seriously if she wan't to get known, get out of that genre!!! If she wants to get really known, she should do a deepa mehta, look how it helped john's career!

She isn't even the most beautiful, in india's eyes. The last indian countdown for the hotest female in india was Bipasha (with john being the hottest male!)

Rani is surprising everyone right know, and shes beating ash out of the water!! With pyrianka coming in second, and bipasha in third! Ash has a long way to go to be that "star" she thinks she is!~

I totally agree...I feel women are too beautiful fail to get the right man in their life..cause with beauty comes arrogance and they( I mean aish only) feel that they deserve the best and loose all....look for urself.. salman then vivek and now abhishek. I hope abhi dumps her before she can do any hr\arm to him...
