| Swati Ali Swati Ali Mumbai, May 22: I'M probably the most flamboyant character on television. As Abhay Kapoor, I've flirted with numerous women, lived in with girlfriend Esha (Shweta Kawaatra) and till date, have been married about six times—to Mahi (Poornima Narula), Tashu (Narayani Shastri) and thrice to Kkusum (Nausheen Ali Sardar). But I'm not complaining—the more, the merrier. The role of Kkusum was first played by Nausheen, then by Mansi i Joshi Roy and now it's Shilpa Saklani. The first wedding, which was to Nausheen, was the fanciest. The elaborate ceremony took place in typical Maharashtrian style. Subsequently, the marriages have gotten shorter. Also, the oddity of getting hitched to the same person thrice hurt my sensibilities as an actor. Anuj Saxena Nausheen (Nosh for short) and I share a comfort level that translates into amazing chemistry on-screen. And I think she's the sexiest of the three Kkusums. Shooting with her during the first few weeks was a nightmare, as her then boyfriend had been rejected for the role of Abhay. As time went by, she thawed and we hit it off. Besides, she broke off with that guy. However when the serial took an 18-year leap, Nosh decided to leave. When Mansi entered, she was aloof and took time to step into Nausheen's shoes. I think she and I looked really nice together. But just as we thought she was settling in, she was asked to leave. I've shot with Shilpa for just a day and can't say how good a Kkusum she'll make. Kkusum started out as a great story—Ek aam ladki ki khaas kahaani. But like most soaps, this one too has lost focus and identity. Hopefully, Shilpa's entry should give it a boost. Like my character, I too was a playboy with a string of girlfriends. But now I'm happily married to Ishmit for the last 15 months. Ishmit gets along well with both Nosh and Mansi. She's yet to meet Shilpa. In fact Nosh was an integral part of my actual wedding, despite her having quit the show then. TAKE CARE ANOLI XXX |
