Anuj Saxena may have burnt his fingers with telly world's Queen bee Ekta Kapoor, but his family owned company is all set to make quite a splash in Bollywood's awards calendar as this year's sponsors of one of the oldest and prestigious filmfare award shows. The annual film awards show after denting its reputation, courtesy its association with a gutkha company with underworld links, had Guru Swarup Srivastava of the 'Rs 100 crore for 100 Husain paintings fame' bail it out as the last minute sponsor of its show last year.
The Saxena family owned Elder Pharmaceuticals will be sponsoring the show this year. Anuj serves as the director marketing in the Pharma company, which own brands like Shelcal, Eldervit and Chymoral among others. The awards show will be associated with the company's fairness cream Fairone.
Anuj Saxena is ready to rule the afternoon slot. Known best as Abhay Kapoor of Kkusum, the actor will now be seen in three shows in the afternoon slot. Saxena plays Karan Kapoor in Star Plus's Kumkum. That apart, the re-runs of Kkusum will begin soon on Sony. A new show titled Rishton Ki Dorr will also have him playing the lead.
