Valentines Day should be banned, just like Mother's day, Father's Day, and other dumb organized religious holidays that masquerade as "special days" while being purveyors of Western modernity and commercialization.

In Marxist theory, we have the base-superstructure model where Capital needs X, therefore X happens, which has some problems, but tends to generally be true. Of course, mass production and mass consumption is harming humanity. Capitalism requires the setting aside of special days to love one another, show care to your parents or celebrate some God to serve the purpose of mass consumption in order to sell goods and services to uphold the myth of an economic sphere. If it didnt benefit capitalism, these holidays or celebrations would not be allowed to continue.

People like Eijaz and I believe that everyday should be Valentines Day, Mother's Day, Father's Day etc without all the commercialized fuss.

Its a day where the whole world dedicates their time towards love.

I've never had a date on valentines day.
