Amit Verma on love, lust and marriage
It was in my seventh grade. I had the hots for my science teacher!
Your first date...
Was very filmi. It was in college where we got stuck in the floods and went to have coffee at a nearby place.
Your idea of a perfect date...
Is a dinner on the beach preferably in Goa, where it's very quiet and nobody else around for miles! I love being in a natural surrounding than a stuffy restaurant. Also, if you are with the right person the date has got to be perfect!
What qualities do you look for in a woman?
Intelligence and a good sense of humour. I can't imagine spending my life with someone who cannot take things with a pinch of salt.
What was your first relationship like?
It was beautiful. I had no idea if it was just infatuation but only when I got out of it, I realised it was love. But it was wonderful.
What do you think about lust versus love?
Love is obviously more important, but lust is a part and parcel in any relationship. One is to the heart, the other to the body.
What is romance to you?
It can be anything as long as you are with your soul mate. It can be either on a beach or a crowded market.
Who'd you like to get dirty on an island?
I can't think of anyone but Sharon Stone!
Do you believe in the institution of marriage?
Yes very much, not only because it's in the Indian tradition but I truly believe in it.
Your take on infidelity?
I give others the benefit of doubt considering their situation. I know that it is a common thing in today's society, but I can't accept infidelity in a relationship.
