HI!!😃
Chapter 7In light you see shadows, in darkness you see dreams...
He couldn't believe she was here. Since everything had gone so messily wrong Arjun didn't expect Arohi to contribute in the recordings. But there she was as if nothing had changed and he could do nothing but stare at her.
Her eyes were a little swollen but they glittered when she smiled. Her cheeks were rosy and her hair tied loosely at the base of her neck. She was the same if not for the thin line of Sindoor on her forehead which simply made her better. She was his, in the end.
Arohi elbowed him breaking his train of thoughts.
'What?' she demanded.
Unable to explain himself he shook his head grinning. For the rest of the recording, well it was a hazy memory, he wasn't even sure what they had been doing for that whole hour. Bless him, his mind was gone.
But even Arjun couldn't live forever in his dream land his Dad was waiting for them outside the record room. He had something important to discuss.
'No,' Arohi said in a shaking voice. After they had listened to what Rudra had to say. 'No media!'
Rudra with an understanding look placed a hand on his shoulder.
'I know what you think,' he said. 'But the matter is already leaked that you two got married in a temple. For everyone's benefit this needs some damage repair,'
Arjun looked at him rather worriedly.
'If you're talking about me,' he said then. 'I don't care Dad, they can say anything they want. I don't mind the slightest.'
'The society do Arjun,' Rudra said patiently. 'You, Arohi, Akhil everyone have images to protect. Trust me this is the best way,'
'But we can't lie can we?' said Arohi.
'Oh peanut,' sighed Arjun. 'How many celebrities tell the truth in such matters huh? But if you're not ready we can postpone the interview.'
'No,' said Rudra. 'Your mom wants this to happen today itself. If Arohi isn't in condition to comply perhaps you should give the interview yourself Arjun,' he suggested. 'That way all the problems get solved instantly.'
'WE'll see,' Arjun said flatly.
*
Arohi had just made up her mind, to listen to what Tara had said. But even before she came in terms with her heart Tara had set up another bomb. The only bit of relief was that she wasn't involved in the interview, only she had to listen to what they talked.
They reporter arrived that evening and Arohi kept herself busy in the kitchen but her ears still picked up every word from their discussion.
'We'll do the usual way.' Arjun was saying. She didn't hear the reporter's reply as they sat down.
'So Arjun, from USA to India, how was the change?'
'It wasn't that drastic,' smiled Arjun. 'I spent my entire childhood here, I have some of the most beloved friends here. It's just a second, much better home.'
He seemed very comfortable talking thought Arohi. Of cause he must have done this a thousand times.
'Everyone thought you were here for a project then we get the news of your marriage, why so sudden decision?'
'Well you know life, you can't always plan what you do. I met my destiny, I thought why not.'
'So yours is a love marriage?'
'Definitely.'
'What was the reaction of you family?'
'My wife was my childhood best friend, Our families were close for a long time I don't think it mattered them much. it was as if they already knew it was coming,'
'Then why a temple wedding? When you could have had a grand one?'
There was a pause in which Arohi listened with battered breath. HOw was Arjun going to reply to that one?
'The last thing that matters in a marriage is that you belong to someone for the rest of your life. As long as you're in love with that person where you got married and how grand your wedding was doesn't matter.'
He stopped for a moment.
'My wife is a very simple girl although she comes from a rich family, all she wanted was a wedding filed with love and blessings, I don't think we could have had much of that in the chaos of a grand wedding. We had previously decided we would get married in a temple that is why we had all the other functions at our respective homes, so that our parents would have no objections to our decision.'
'In any of our previous conversations we didn't talk of love, but now since you have met your soulmate what is your opinion of love?
'It is a destiny's decision, you can hardly change.' Arjun said thoughtfully. 'There's no point in denying it once you have fallen in love, no matter how hard accepting it would be.
'Now let's move in to some fan questions,' said the reporter.
'Not embarrassing ones I hope,' said Arjun with a laugh. 'I've had my share of those,'
'What is your current project?'
'I was getting to that,' said Arjun' first time I'm contributing to a duet, with my wife. The songs would release as soon as we finish working on the visuals.'
'The visuals?'
'Yes, they'll be filmed in China we'll be leaving for those soon.'
'Who is the most trusted one in your world?'
'That's a new one,' said Arjun. 'There're two people actually, my mother and my wife. But I don't trust my mother with holidays, she always tries to keep me home and I don't trust my wife with sentiments, once she starts crying it's seriously hard to calm her down,'
Both of them laughed at that.
'Your dream?'
'A happy home,' said Arjun shortly.
'Your fear?'
'Losing loved ones and getting betrayed.'
'The biggest regret of your life?'
'I misjudged someone,'
'The thing you hate most?'
'Tears, if I was the cause I hate them even more.'
*
Aditya Veer Singh had enjoyed himself mostly in the past week. He reflected as he kept the magazine aside, which had Arjun's interview. Everything was still going on according to his plan. Now only the final touches were left.
'Soon you'll be facing your fear, regret and most hated together Arjun,' he muttered to himself. 'I should give Tara the good news too,'
*
'Why didn't you tell me?' Tara almost yelled.
'Don't get hyper mom,' said Arjun as Arohi walked in. 'What's your problem with that man?'
Tara stood up.
'Arjun you don't know him. Listen to me stay away from Aditya Veer Singh. He is dangerous,'
'How can I stay away from my sponsor? How is that even possible,'
'Mom,' said Arohi slowly before Tara would blew up with anger. She handed her a cup of tea and sat down, still not getting what the row was all about.
'We're not working with him, it's his son we have to interact with.'
'He has a son too?' said Tara.
'Yes and I'll meet him soon.'
Tara took a long breath.
'Fine promise me you don't go anywhere near Aditya.'
Arjun rolled his eyes. 'I promise. happy?'
*
But both he and Tara knew that the promise was not going to be long kept. Unknown to them another storm was knocking their door and it will surely blow away the walls that guarded Tara's secrets for many long years.
