stormed abhi without even letting arohi to say a hello
"I dont care...but i was damn sure you knew so i called myself instead of waiting for you to do so" arohi cut in...
"Dammit girl...!Acha madame yes i reached safely all alive and well no casualties...STATES arohi a new life...M so excited...!"
his voice trailed off in excitement finally his dream of the lifetime was being realised...
"Take care of yourself...have lots of fun...dont forget your aim...But most importantly miss me alot...just like how i'll miss you..."
she cut the call not feeling upto talking to him anymore...she knew he would catch the dissapointment and sadness in her words...he just knew her too well...and thats the last thing she wanted to do...dissapoint him on his first day in the U.S.A...she still remembered the first time they had talked about ambitions and dreams and passions...her mind drifted back to that memory as if it were afresh...she knew this day was inevitable...she wanted this for him...but still some part of her heart never wanted it to come...

It had been a week since the 10 rupees incident...how they became friends this soon and how he became a part of her life in such short duration was beyond arohi...And so for the first time she had done something she had never done before...she asked a guy for his number...her lips curved into a smile at the memory of her taking his number in the college canteen with them sitting on opposite side and anya sitting beside her...She didnt know how to ask...she didnt know what to do...indifferently she moved her phone forward towards abhi trying to mask the dilemma and crazy thoughts going on in her mind... only making eye contact to say "type your number..." and like an obedient boy abhi did as told and returned the phone to arohi...arohi smiled a triumphant smile as if she had conquered the everest and saved his number...

Mein pehle karu...maybe i should...i asked for the number...but har chiz pehle mein kyun karu...no i'll wait for him...but what if he doesnt...screw it...this abhinav fellow will drive me crazy...!!!
Arohi's phone buzzed in the middle of her mental rant...she picked it up with half anticipation and half fear...what if it was him...what if it wasnt...And to her dissapointment it was anya rather than her newly found friend whose number she had just taken in the morning...
"You seem dissapointed" anya said giggling
"waiting for someone else to call were you.?"
"Shut up..!" arohi said irritated...anya's leg pulling was the last thing she needed right now...
"I will...i will...i just called to give you a message from someone who was bullied into giving his number to you and forgot to take your number...that someone wants you to give them a call..." the rest of anya's words sank into arohis laughter as she started laughing at how silly the situation was...she quickly hung up on anya to call abhi...
"Hello...its me" she said smiling she kicked herself mentally as soon as she did...pagal how will he know who you if you dont tell your name...!
"Oh...Hey arohi...wo i forgot to take your number earlier...so i asked anya to call you..." she smiled to herself at him recognising it was her...
"Haan haan she told me...you are great you know that dont you...! how could someone give their number and not ask for the other persons number in return..."
"You should've given me a missed call then only..."
"I was waiting for you to ask for the number...you didnt...so i thought you didnt want it...afterall you are THE abhinav khurana" she said in a mocking tone which didnt go unnoticed by abhi...
"Haha very funny...NOT..!!" he said stressing on the not...
"And your punishment for such a lame joke is you're goanna have to help me with c language...matlab you'll have to tutor me from the a,b,c of c...i hate it...dont understand a songle bit of it"
arohi was dumbstruck for a second she couldnt comprehend how a person studying software could hate c which was the basics of software...
"Man are you mad..! how do you suppose to go forward in software if you dont like c to begin with?!!"
"who wants to make a career out of software?!! I am goanna do automobile engineering...its my dream to study in the states and become an automobile engineer...for now since i couldnt get into my desired field i am tolerating this course but not for long once i am done and i have a degree to hand...it's just a matter of 4 years arohi and then i'll be off to states..." Arohi silently heard the carefree abhinav whom she had never seen serious about anything since their college started months back...talk about his passion...his dream...she could see how determined he was to achieve what he wanted...in that moment she made a silent prayer to god to help him achieve what he wanted and that his dream of studying in the states to come true just the way he wanted it...

From that day on it was not just abhi's dream but arohi's as well and now finally 5 years later it had come true at last...and even though it had a hollow feeling of abhi being away from her she knew it was for the best...distance increases the love in relations afterall...maybe this would be their testing period to know how true their friendship was...
