Hi guys, this is my update for Kritika's birthday! I wasn't planning to write it but Priya di asked me to so I did it even though she wanted me to update 'my anger'! I wrote this on Saturday night and was waiting till today to update it! I wouldn't come online tomorrow most probably. I think this update is longer than the usual ones!

Chapter 20

There was still one more week for Ishaan's wedding and the house was bustling with guests and workers. Everyone was busy and no one not even Arohi herself had noticed it was her birthday next day. But there was someone who noticed and was eager to celebrate it. It was of course Arjun. He didn't celebrate his birthday because on his birthday eve Arohi was taken away from him by her dad. Now he had to celebrate both of their birthdays together. Arjun was ignoring Arohi all day and was spending time with June so that they can plan everything. So it was naturally Robbie, Shefali, Romit, Swayam and Rashi's duty to distract Arohi. Every time Arohi tried to come and talk to Arjun she was dragged away by the other gang members. Arohi was starting to feel suspicious but her attention never went to her birthday. She had never really celebrated the day. She considered that day to be unlucky and not worthy of celebrating. That day had brought several pains for her and she was afraid of that day and never celebrated it after her mom and sister's death. Before that she used to celebrate her birthday with just her dadu and in school with her besties Swayam and Shefali. And now she was too happy to remember that day.

When one set of the group was busy distracting Arohi, Arjun and June were decorating the place they had rented for Arohi's surprise party that will only contain her and Arjun. That was Arjun's plan and since they were supposed to be alone June decided to throw another party for Arohi in the house, a very close friends only party! They planned to organize it in the outhouse and Arjun and June had already decorated it. Now only this private place remained. June as usual was irritating Arjun by poking him.

"You know what idiot I don't think she will like this white draping! You should try red!" June said knowing red draping would look horrible and Arjun knew it. But still she loved the frown that Arjun gave thinking about the slightest possibility of the hall looking horrible and Arohi not liking it.

"Oh shut up! I know you are trying to make me nervous! And you are doing a pretty darn good job! So stop being June and help me out!" Arjun said in one breath.

June just laughed at her best friend. It was really a rare sight to see the mighty Arjun Singhania nervous! June hopped down from the table and patted Arjun in filmy style and said, "So my friend you accept that you are an idiot and nervous? And most importantly you agree on the fact that you need my help? I guess today is a great day for me!"

Arjun gave her a glare but said in an unusual calm voice, "Of course why shouldn't I? After all I am your friend so I would naturally be an IDIOT! And more importantly you are still standing there and not helping me!"

"Oye calm down my angry young man! I will help you!" June moved to set the table and there was nothing more to do as she planned to come here tomorrow evening before Arjun-Arohi and set everything. Now they are only doing the base so that tomorrow they could arrange the flowers with more ease. Once finished June smacked Arjun signaling him it's time to go.

Once inside the car June started thinking about what had happened in their lives. It changed so quickly and she was so happy for her friend and even for her. But sometimes she missed the old times when she used to hang out with Arjun and the rest of the gang. They thought their life would never change but here everything had changed for better. She was not the usual thinking emotional type but today she kind of missed her friend. It was her mom's death anniversary and she kind of become emotional on this day every year. The only time to be specific. Every year Arjun and June would have a friends' night out this day to distract her mind but this time she tried to be cheerful and happy so that Arjun and Arohi can be together. June would never let anything come between them not even her friendship with Arjun. She always felt a sister like bonding towards Arohi and always wished the best for her. June's thought came to a halt when Arjun stopped somewhere. June looked around and found they were outside a dhaba. She looked questioningly at Arjun who smiled at her and he stepped out of the car to come to her side and opened her doors. She was a little surprised but she stepped out and raised her eyebrows. Arjun smiled and told her,

"You really thought I would forget that today is the only day my friend would become emotional and would most certainly need her best friend?"

"What emotional or me! Are you mad? I am perfectly alright! You are crazy!" June tried to tell off Arjun and walked towards the dhaba. Arjun caught up with her and made her stop.

"You know you can't lie to me! I know you are acting super cool so that I wouldn't take out time for you and be away from Arohi. No don't interrupt let me finish! I know you think you need to back off from my life now because Arohi is in it! But you don't have to! We know each other since birth. We are best friends from the time we were born! Now just because I have some one in my life doesn't mean I would forget you! You are important to me and will always stay that way! You are my little toofan! You can fool the entire world but not me! I know you are sad because of this day! And what I don't understand is your theory of staying away! I mean I still have the same freedom with you even if there is Robbie in your life! So my friend, forget about all that! They know we are best friends and that we are an important part of each other's life! So chill! Now come let's eat something I am starving!"

June smiled at her best friend and followed him. They sat there eating and talking about their good old days. June was happy that she was still as much important to Arjun as she used to be. She was happy for him and she was never the 24-hours-together kind of friend but there were moments when she only needed her bestie and no one else and she was now happy because she now knew that this one thing would never go away. They were back in home after dinner time and Arohi was already sleeping because distracting meant lot of activities for her!

Arjun and June went straight to the outhouse and found Swayam and Shefali there. They were doing last minute preparations and were arranging everybody's gifts in a corner. They stayed there for sometime and returned when there was only 10 minutes remaining to be 12 o'clock. Arjun went first to Arohi's bedroom followed by Shefali,Swayam,June, Robbie,Rashi,Romit,Sanchit,bua and Ishaan. They stood by her bedside and waited for the clock to strike 12 and when it did there was a roar of HAPPY BIRTHAY from them. Arohi was awake within seconds and stared around trying to take in her surroundings and also trying to regain from the sudden fear that was born out of the noise. Arohi just stared at them for few minutes and then finally broke into a beautiful smile. She was at once hugged by her brothers and besties. Then her bua and the rest. Arjun's turn came only in the end and he was happy about it because it meant a longer hug! Once the hugging session was over June dismissed everybody to their rooms so that they can all have a good night's sleep before tomorrow's great activities.

Morning came and for the first time she was happy on her birthday. She looked outside the window and gazed at the beautiful scenery before her. She never admired nature's beauty like this before. She was more like the gloomy rainy day and never seemed to think about the wet and the sunny atmosphere that would come just after a rain. The rainy periods of her life seemed to have come to an end. She was still sitting in the window sill sipping her cup of tea. Just as she was thinking about the happy memories she had of her birthdays with her dadu it hit her. Her friends had planned something for her and that's why Arjun and June was away last evening. She smiled at her friend's care for her and then a naughty thought hit her. Her friends would most certainly want her to look very pretty that day and of course she would do that but not without causing a little trouble. She went to her cupboard and searched to find an old pair of jeans and a plain old cotton white shirt. Smiling to herself Arohi went to take a bath and had taken more than usual time.

Downstairs her friends were waiting for her to start the breakfast. Others had already eaten their food and had left without even remembering it's her birthday. But that was not an issue that day. The day was more important than those matters. When finally Arohi came down everyone was thrown off. They couldn't believe it. There was the birthday girl in an old outfit and looking totally disinterested. Shefali was the first to react.

"Aru what are you wearing? It's your birthday girl! Go wear something new! What about that new blue dress I gave you last week? Come on Aru!" Shefali rolled her eyes at her friend.

"What Shefu? What is the need of it? I mean you guys wished me! That's it! I don't need anything else! Anyways I am planning to spend this birthday by sleeping! You know I hadn't had a good sleep for some time! Now come on what's there to eat?" Arohi sat down at the table and took a toast. She ate her toast and drank her juice trying hard not to smile. June was about to open her mouth and say "No you are not!" but Arjun stopped her. He had seen the beginning of a naughty smile on Arohi's face that vanished the instant he looked at her. Arjun motioned every one to sit and follow his suite.

"I think Arohi is right guys! I mean if she doesn't want to celebrate her birthday then it's her decision. I mean she would certainly want to catch up on her sleep! Now what we do is that we would just go to that new restaurant or the new mall while she is sleeping! What's say people?" Arjun winked at everyone and they all supported him as if it doesn't matter to them that Arohi won't be with them.

Arohi just stared unbelievingly at her friends. She couldn't digest the fact that they agreed to go without her. At that Arohi became a little irritated and went out from there. She had expected them to persuade her but they just agreed to her and that's not fair! Thinking all this Arohi accidentally walked into the outhouse. Arjun smiled at the sight. He was thinking how to get her there and she herself had done it. Everyone walked behind her to see her expression on seeing all the decoration. Arohi walked into the outhouse and hadn't noticed the decorations at first but when she stumbled into a balloon she looked around and was amazed at what she saw. The hall was decorated with red and white balloons and colourful drapes were hung everywhere. She walked around taking in everything and then she noticed the banner with 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY AROHI'. Arohi slowly smiled and was taken aback when Arjun spoke to her, "So Miss Arohi are you still planning to sleep all day?"

Arohi turned around and found all her loved ones there and then as if answering Arjun's question she smiled at him. He pulled her into a warm hug and whispered to her, "You are still looking awesome in this really old and worn out outfit!" Arohi's smile widened and she smacked him lightly.

Soon enough Arohi was cutting her favourite black forest and feeding everyone. Then there was the 'I would put chocolate on your face' match going on and it needs no mention that Arohi's face was everybody's favourite destination! Then June threw a cake piece to Arohi's face and she dodged and it hit Robbie's face and in return he threw one piece back. But June was too fast for him and it hit Swayam. Soon there was a cake war going on and everyone was drenched in chocolate. Swayam and Romit were helping their respective girlfriends to clean their faces and Arjun was using his finger to take some chocolate from Arohi's face and eat it. Every time he did that Arohi pinched him in his ribs making him dance and he also made weird noises along with it. Robbie and June were still having their fights and weren't planning to stop it in near future!

Arohi was ready to go out with Arjun that evening. She didn't know whether but knew it was a special gift from him. She was wearing a red saree that was gifted to her by Arjun. Her accessories were limited to the diamond studded platinum earrings Ishaan had given her and a diamond bracelet that was a gift from Sanchit and bua. She had her hair to one side. She was gifted a new phone by Swayam and Rashi. She also received a beautiful watch from Robbie and June and Shefali and Romit had gifted her new laptop. She never got this much presents before and it was her best birthday ever.

As soon as Arohi was downstairs Arjun took her away. Once they were there Arjun closed Arohi's eyes with his hands and led her to the place. June had already told him she had finished decorating the area with flowers and balloons. As Arjun took his hands from her eyes Arohi was amazed by what she saw. She was in a room decorated with white draping. There were her favourite white lilies combined with colourful tulips in every corner. It was subtle yet charming. She also saw the white ballons. There was a little artificial pond with flowers and little candles floating in it. And in the middle of the room was a table covered with white satin cloth and had a champagne bottle with two glasses. There was her favourite Italian food that seemed to be served just seconds before their arrival. She turned around to see a nervous Arjun. She couldn't help but smile at him and as he saw her smile he relaxed. Taking your significant other on a date was a difficult task. Arjun helped Arohi to settle down and they had their food talking and laughing. There were times when Arohi found Arjun staring at her with a longing and she couldn't help the blush that creeped up on her cheeks. While drinking champagne Arohi was wondering about the new wonderful life that she was going to lead with Arjun but somewhere deep down in her heart she feared the change. She feared every kind of change that took place in her life. Somewhere along the thoughts she found herself being attracted to a dream filled sleep but Arjun's presence was the only thing that stopped her being falling asleep. Once finished with food and drinks Arjun asked Arohi for a dance. As they moved to the tune of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai Arohi wondered from where the music was coming. But then she forgot about it as soon as she found herself getting lost in Arjun's eyes.

Arjun himself was lost in Arohi's purity. He was always awestruck by her heart's purity. A girl who had gone through those bad experiences would find it difficult to be this much sweet and understanding but she was. He felt that the white surroundings were symbolic of her purity. She was just perfect for him and he believed it. Constantly saying it made him extremely happy and gave him a sense of belonging with her. He had promised himself to take care of her in every step of their life. He didn't want anything else from her other than her love and presence. That was enough for him.

"Arohi" he called her softly but she didn't respond. He looked at her and found that she had fallen asleep in his chest while dancing. Arjun smiled and thought only Arohi can fall asleep while dancing with your fiance but then she was in secure hands. He once again looked at her innocent sleeping face with compassion and love and took her in his arms to get her back to the coziness of her bed.

So enjoyed it? Well I first intended to write more Arjuhi scenes but when I started writing it turned out like this! While writing I felt I need to emphasis on Arjun and June's friendship and that's the only reason I wrote that section! And I am very bad at writing intimate scenes so don't expect something like that from me! Ok now leave your precious comments! Pls''.
