Arohi

She threw the paper again. Her dustbin was
overflowing. The writing pad on which she was writing seemed to be almost on
its death bed. She was angry, frustrated, sad and of all crying. Why was she
doing that?

Arohi a simple girl from a middle class
family, her only dream was to achieve something in life that would make her
parents proud of her. She was 21. She hit her pillow hard and hugged her teddy
tight. She was crying so badly as if the whole world will get flooded by her
tears. While she shared her sadness with her teddy the past events came hurriedly
across her mind.

She was very bright girl 5 years back when
she completed her 10^th standard she was the happiest girl in the
world because she stood first in the state. She got the admissions in one of
the top colleges in her state where her life turned so drastically of which she
never dreamt of.

A year passed in her college and now she
was in 12^th standard. On the first day of college;

"I am late" was the only thing that was
bothering her. She was in a haste to reach the bus stop which was just across
the road. Just when she put her feet to cross the road several things happened
together, Arohi heard sound of a horn, she looked in the side and saw a large
truck coming to hit her and someone pulled her back, she saw a face which was
completely unfamiliar and then she knows nothing.

When she opened her eyes she saw three
people staring at her surrounding her bed. Then she realized that she was in
the hospital. The people around her were her friend, nurse and doctor. Doctor checked
Arohi and discharged her saying she became unconscious just due to shock and no
injuries at all. He gave prescription to an unknown yet a very familiar face. Arohi
couldn't recognize the face. When she got discharged her friend Priya was
walking with her.

"Priya who is that guy who is interested in
helping me so much?"

"He is the one who saved you and then
called me he took all the responsibility of completing the formalities" Priya
answered.

"Does he know me?" Arohi shot another
question.

"I don't know you better talk to him you
should say thank you at least remember?" Priya gave a reminder to Arohi

"Oh! Yes." Arohi realized she hadn't even
said thank you to the guy who was her savior.

"I'll get the taxi you wait here" Priya told
Arohi and left her near the reception.

She saw the guy who saved her life; he was
like an angle to her. He seemed very quite. While she was thinking the next
moment he stood in front of her.

"What do you think exactly you were doing
back at road?" asked the guy

"HUH!" Arohi wasn't expecting this

"I was crossing the road fast as I was getting
late to the college." Arohi answered.

"Don't you feel you might be getting late
for the college but it was too early for you to go to heaven or say hell?" the
guy asked mockingly.

"How dare you? Me and hell! I am not that
bad Mr. Whatever." Arohi burst in anger.

"Nice way to thank me Miss Arohi." The guy said smiling to himself.

"Oh Right! Thank you! But don't expect me
to say sorry because I won't be going to hell understood?" Arohi was having fit
of rage.

"Well in that case you are not welcome. Here
are the reports (the guy gave a file) and good bye" guy turned to go.

"Hey wait!" Arohi shouted at his back.

"Shhh" said the receptionist.

"Sorry" Arohi apologies to the receptionist.

"Yes" Arjun turned back to her.

"Name! What's your name? You know mine so
if I meet you again I should know yours right?" asked Arohi.

"I don't think we will meet again but you
are right accidents happen just like this." And he pointed to Arohi.

Arohi was about to say something but before
that the guy introduced himself.

"Arjun ' Arjun Sahay"

"Well bye then" said Arohi.

"Bye" and Arjun left Arohi thinking what
kind of person she just met.

part 2

NA JANE KYU! Arohi kept thinking of the guy who saved her. His deep eyes, his attitude, his personality, and the way he talk there was something in him that made Arohi think he is mysterious.

The next day neither did Arohi want to be late nor she want to meet another stranger so she got up very early (she didn't sleep the whole night). When she and Priya entered the classroom there was no one in the class except a guy who was reading a book. Arohi couldn't make out who the guy is because it seems he wasn't from her class. Arohi thought the guy sitting there came to the class by mistake so she went to enquire.

"Excuse me!"

The boy put down the book covering his face.

"Yes" the boy replied and Arohi's straight face turned purple first and then almost red.

He was the same guy Arohi's survivor.

"Arjun!" Arohi almost shouted.

"Oh wow! You! I must give you the credit for your sharp memory power. Just once we met and you remember me perfectly. Raat bhar mere bare me soch rahi thi kya?" Arjun said coolly.

'OMG how come this guy know I didn't sleep last night' Arohi was in her own thoughts.

"Hello!" Arjun interrupted her train of thoughts.

Arohi composed herself.

"How come you are here?" Arohi questioned Arjun.

"Why? Only you can go to college? By the way I am new student of this class." Arjun replied.

"New student in 12^th! Strange!" Arohi asked surprised.

"Strange but true." Arjun replied smiling.

"I must say Arohi your will power to meet me was very strong that's why I got admissions here. Now we will meet every day." Arjun teased Arohi.

"Huh!" Arohi is very much irritated but he was right she wanted to meet him. She wanted to know what kind of person he is but she was very surprised to see him reading all her thoughts. 'Am I so easy to read?' Arohi asked herself.

"Yes" Arjun replied.

"Sorry" Arohi couldn't understand.

"I think you are easy to read" Arjun answered her silent question.

Another shock crossed Arohi's face. What was it? Is he a vampire or something who can read minds? Arohi was confused and slightly smiled at her foolish thought composing herself quickly.

By the time they had this little talk students started filling the empty class. Priya was listening to the talk between Arohi and Arjun. Students entering the class were busy throwing uptight looks at Arjun and Arohi. By now everyone guessed that Arjun is a new student but the entire class was more interested in Arohi talking to Arjun. The topper of the class talking with new comer was the hot topic ever since.

Days passed, Arohi was firm not to go and talk with Arjun as she didn't want to draw any attention towards her so also NA JANE KYU whenever she saw Arjun she begin to remember the incident and felt that they both are connected somewhere. On the other hand Arjun turned a reserved guy. The first day Arjun was quite different from the present Arjun which made Arohi curious to know about him but she controlled her inquisition for the obvious reasons.

After some days Computer professor of standard 12^th announced that students are suppose to do a mini project on anything related to computers. Each student will be put in a group and group will have two students a boy and a girl each. Everyone was murmuring about who they will get as their partners. Professor started announcing the names and Arohi had more shocks waiting for her. When the names were announced it was she who grouped with Arjun and she was stunned. Na Jane Kyu she had no choice then to face Arjun when she wants to run away from him. With her one eye she looked at Arjun who was staring at her as if he is been told that you are fired from your job. Arjun was with the expression "Not Again!" whereas Arohi with a face "No Option!"
