So...one week down and another begins. While the contrasts in the lives of Kabir and Aditya are all too obvious, there is plenty in common between these "at cusp of adult-hood characters" that destiny has bound together.

Today's episode was all about life in the ring! The the boxing ring as a metaphor for life is a well-used cinematic device and Kismat was no different. Cliched...yes...but still a good plot tool to etch out these characters we're still getting familiar with.
Aditya chooses to enter the ring. Kabir has no choice...he's in the ring already.

Aditya knows the rules...they are written. Kabir is surviving the unwritten rules of the streets.

A knock-out punch brings Aditya victory and Kabir down but both exemplify the same mental strength in their battles.
The inbuilt irony of the episode is the battle they will fight in the future...with each other...with rules they will write!

PS: Life in the Ring is also the title of a book by John Oden!

Jovial Dale: I agree to agree 😊

"Aditya chooses to enter the ring. Kabir has no choice...he's in the ring already."

I wanted to say the same but the words were being evasive. 😊

@tvdekha...Hiya...I'm Jaya! Please elaborate why you found it boring? Would love to read your perspective. I found the use of a boxing fight as an analogy cliched but am choosing to ignore it as the goal of all of the episodes so far have been to establish the characters and some of their history as a context for the future.

So finally saw it!

The "fight" was indeed a metaphor for life's struggles for both ARM and Kabir. ARM chooses to "fight" whereas Kabir has no choice but to "fight".
Just as you mentioned, even thought they are emphasizing on the contrast between the two men, there are indeed so many subtle similarities between the two and their "fates" are indeed tied together knowingly or unknowingly right from their birth.

On a side note, the "boxing match" scenario was a bit stretched and hence i can see why it would be boring for some. Instead of showing just one man's side first then the second man's, i think it would have been so much better if they had gone one after other from ARM to Kabir and shown the boxing match (ARM's chosen fight) versus Kabir's real life fight (the tiff with the landlord i guess).

@tvdekha--yup that's how i felt like too but didn't forward.😆

The show needs a better editing for sure if you ask me! When the plot mentions about the 'karmic" connection between the two men, then they need to edit the scenes so as to give that feel. And they need to chop chop those unnecessary prolonged parts.
Everything else was good but the editing.

More than boring I found it very cliched...the boxing ring analogy is overused to show struggles, victory of the under dog and so much more.

The interesting part here for me was that the real boxing match featured Aditya...he is hardly the struggling hero out to prove a point like the overdone plots of gazillion movies. That made it interesting for me. 😊 Anyway...I agree with what you said Amy...the editing could have been done differently to contrast the two much more engagingly.

@jaya--Cliched it sure was! Cliched and stretched. But as you mentioned it wasn't to show him emerge as the underdog....but to show how determined he is to achieve that "winning" title ..so much so that he gives in his all.
this could be a good thing as well as a bad thing.
