When you mess with your work, you are on your way out ' that's the mantra Ekta Kapoor has circulated.
She has just sacked the lead actress of one of her shows Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil. Additi Gupta, the actress, was the female lead in the show.
Interestingly, when the show started Ekta was very fond of Additi. She was chosen after several auditions as Ekta was very particular about the time slot of the show ' 8.30 pm to 9 pm. This time slot, which was earlier reserved for Kasauti Zindagi Kay, had given Ekta amazing TRPs for more than six years.
As Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil had replaced Kasauti, Ekta went ahead and consulted numerologist Sanjay Jumaani too.
As a result, an extra 'D' was added to Aditi's name to bring success to the show.
A source in the production house says, 'Initially, Additi was very hard working. But with time, a starry attitude took over and she started throwing tantrums. Reaching the sets late became a daily affair. Whenever we asked for an explanation, she used to come up with some excuses. Many times even the shoots were held up for her. And in a
Daily soap, lack of an episode bank can lead to a serious crisis. So after discussions, the Balaji creative team decided to oust her from the show. Now, the
storyline has been twisted a bit and her character will die in the show soon.'
Vikas Gupta, the creative head of the show, says, 'There were certain serious issues with her. So despite being the female lead, she won't be a part of the show. Now we have decided to kill her character in the show.'
Another source says, 'The creative team is still looking for a replacement.' Vikas adds, 'We are considering a few actresses. We are going to make the announcement very soon.

Her character, Heer will be shown dying when Prem (Harshad Chopda), Heer (Additi Gupta) and the entire Juneja family get stuck in a storm in Ajmer. When contacted Additi refused to clarify. "You have to speak to the creative director or the writer," she said. The creative director of the show, Vikas confirmed that Additi was unable to give them the kind of time they required for the show. "If things get sorted out, she will be back if not we will be replacing her."
