[Quote=estee]there's nothing like a day at the singapore zoo to make you forget a lot about life. and when you go with a menagerie of your own, it because even more easy to forget there's a show that you see, with a dreamy-eyed demon living on the edges of your consciousness. but today, we were back on the sofa that didn't look like it would take five girls, two dogs, one little sleeping boy, and a guy with perpetual laughter in his eyes. the laughter that burst into guffaws whever the decibel levels that came out from the rest of the couch skyrocketed with the appearance of a certain young mr. juneja on screen.
oh, how i love my mad cousins. with them, i can forget i hate prem! 😆
we saw two days shows one after the other. and it was hard understanding the big and little things in the shows, with all the high emotional levels exploding around me. it felt like i was seeing the show with the forum! 🤣
When I didnt see your BTLT yesterday, I thought I missed it or you are so depressed that you will not continue writing😕. The latter one I crossed out later due to my better judgement of your temper😆. I knew that you will not go into depression.....Anyway, its good to see your BTLT and I am relieved that I didnt miss it.😃
Good for you that you felt like you were watching the show with the forum😊. For my part, I had to see it with my brother🤢. He gives a d*mn about the show😆. But even he thinks Prem's dad is a creepy old man😆😆. My sister has declared me to be insane for watching this serial😆.
[Quote=estee]* prem thing: what was prem trying to tell heer when he saw how much she was trying to run away from him at the party? he knew he had hurt her hugely. he looked taken aback at her stubborness to run away from him, not wanting to talk to him at all! i want to know! 😆
Maybe he was trying to manipulate his rejection speech at that time like he did later onwards. Or, he was simply trying to get Heer to talk with him just for self-satisfaction. I mean he was just seeing if Heer was angry or disappointed and when he saw that Heer was feeling both he thought that any conversation would do as long as Heer talks with him. I loved Heer when she was ignoring Prem. And would have loved to see another marathon in this weird situation.
[Quote=estee]* little thing: wasn't it funny how the people of the house -- heer, prem, meher -- were the only people not "enjoying" the party??? noticed how meher was standing with her hands folded in the middle of the dancing floor?
Yeah, I did noticed that. Also, I noticed how much the guy in the brown shirt was jumping around. He reminded me of a monkey. The dance was so aweful! Almost everybody seemed as if they were practicing karate movements. Their hands were here and there......ishhh. Didnt Veera said that she is inviting Prem's friends? Did Prem import his friend from Canada? Because, after coming to India, all we saw him doing was run after Heer and trying to woo her. The chipmunks that were present in the party could have easily adopted Prem as their son. They were so old!!! No wonder that burape mein party dekh kar sattiya gaye aur aise nachne lag gaye.
[Quote=estee]* big thing: said it before, saying it again. laluchacha is a terribly selfish being for forcing his life on his children. i was embarrased at how much of emotional blackmail he is trying to use to get grown up children to do what he wanted!! i was flabbergasted at how much of a control freak he was showing himself to be -- ordering grown up children to choose? how much of uncivility he was displaying -- in their own house, insulting heer? telling prem to shut up?? he has gone
insane.
With his insanity I have no doubt but he does know his son very well. He said Prem to shut up and Prem became silent. So why wouldnt Lallu the loafer continue with his hankypanky. Preet was so good in that scene. He was like "here goes the loafer again" and I liked Ash very much. She went totally blank, as if confused about the fact that if Lallu is thinking that she is her own daughter or not. Lallu, is the most uncivilized old man. Ordering everyone to come with him and giving five minutes warning. What is he? Even his grandchilren wont play such a stupid game. He should have been the father of the brown-shirt-dancing-baboon.
[Quote=estee] * heer thing: heer was brilliant today. even though, she is incredibly hurt and bruised from prem turning her away, she is the only one who has the courage and the desparate love for prem to literally
beg laluchacha not to leave. and more importantly, not to take prem's family away from him. and prem noticed. 😊
Yeah, Heer was brilliant today. But I didnt prefer her begging Lallu the loafer like that. It was so humiliating!!!!! Begging.......and that also to Lallu.
[Quote=estee] * prem thing: but we must be thankful for one good result of laluchacha's bullying. in a prem-mute episode, laluchacha's crude behaviour to heer gave us the only word prem uttered. and uttered in
such style! oh. it was magnificent watching the transformation of the misery into first the thunder of disbelief dawning on prem's face, and then the blaze of warning anger. i've always wondered how prem would react to laluchacha "hurting" heer. this was superb.
Yes, Harshad's acting was superb. I was amazed at how Prem's eyes, nose and lips went identical shade of pink. He was glowering at his father like 'talk no more, or you will soon find yourself smudged on the floor'. But out of respect for his bauji the only thing he said in a controlled voice was "bauji".
[Quote=estee]* big thing: and of course, it also drew the boundaries of behaviour that gayatri-mom considered intolerable, and made her able to speak up. speak up without hesistation, or fear.
y'know what truly amazed me about gayatri-mom's performance? that she, who has silently and with copious tears, tolerated so much of laluchacha's insanity, does not get cheap, or screechy, or insane like laluchacha. 'cause where laluchacha is always screaming about how
he is hurt,
his old age plans are shot,
he needs respect for what he has done, gayatri-mom is fighting only for her son, not herself. the anger was not selfish or self-righteous. and thus, her anger was
noble. only something so pure could've allowed her to almost calmly shut her husband's ranting up, holding up her hand.
(hmm, do you think that prem picked up the hand gesture from gayatri-mom??? 😆)
so, while prem might have admonished preet not to speak against his father, there was nothing that prem could've possibly said to his mother about not going against his father. the prem who has always pushed his mother to be with laluchacha today stood silent. and what a good thing too! for her only desire is: "obey the dictates of your fate, your soul -- start doing what it takes to marry heer". and how can her son disobey?? 😆
Yes, maybe the hand gesture thing is hereditary. Although, Gayatri does justice to it rather than Prem. Prem asks a question but silences the answerer with his hand gesture before even getting the answer.
Anyway, Gayatri rocked a big time. she is such a selfless woman whereas Lallu only thinks about himself. Its always I told you, I dont like it, I think,My life,My children, My misery, My so-called respect.....He was simply gawking at her when she was talking with Prem and when she lectured him.
Prem didnt disobey her mother's order, but then again he cant even forget his father's anger. He should decide what he wants. Its aar ya paar.
[Quote=estee]* little thing: i thought it was brilliant when she refers to prem as having been born from her "womb", weaned on"her milk". he isn't. but neither of them have ever cared. i thought that was a brilliant allusion to the time that prem asked her why she didn't prove that she
was his mother. just brilliant. 👏
I think this was another K-Kamp blooper. What was Gayatri saying that she gave Prem the name? If I am not mistaken Gayatri married Lallu when Prem was five years old. Who on earth keeps his son nameless till tha age of five? Oh, my mistake, Lallu the loafer does. Or has Gayatri changed Prem's name later. So, now I would very much like to know what was Prem's former name. Maybe Ullus-Unlucky son!!!!
[Quote=estee]* prem thing: would he have moved to make heer his even if his mother had not appeared with her wonderful catalytic presence and direction for prem? after what his father said to heer,
would he have done it anyway???! i want to know. 😕
I think he would have done it anyway. His desperate way of talking to Heer, when she completely ignored him, made me feel that he was practicing his proposal speech at that time in his mind. Although he was unsure that if that was the right thing to do. So Gayarti mom's direction gave Prem the platform to do it now. Which otherwise he may have pushed to do later.
[Quote=estee]*
highlight of the episode: gayatri-mom silencing her enraged husband with just one gesture of her hand -- even in his insanity, laluchacha appeared to helplessly obey that command. there was something rather royal about that gesture. but strangely enough, even with gayatri-mom's brilliance, for me the highlight were the expressions on
preet's face when gayatri-mom demanded prem make heer his bride, when she acknowledged heer as her daughter-in-law. my heart sang to see how glad preet was for his brother, how proud he was of his mother and her fighting for his brother. it was
these that just
made the episode for me. dunno why.
Loved Preet's expression. he was openly smirking and smiling when Lallu looked insulted-ly at his wife. He was so good in that scene. he is always good in all his scenes. But another expression which I lived was Heer's. When Gayatri came in and started agreeing to what Lallu said, Heer looked at her disbelievingly. When mommy came in, Heer looked as if she had got a support at last, but as Gayatri started talking Heer's expression changed to disbelief and then helplessness. Then when Gayatri said that Heer is the one for Prem and that she has considered Heer as her daughter-in-law, Heer's expression changed into silent gratification. Aditi did an excellent job in that scene.
[Quote=estee]* prem thing: the
sheer beauty of his act of going down on one knee to heer, with his head bowed before her, in front of his proud, pleased mother, and his disbelieving, hostile father, was almost unbearable. seriously, seriously switched on all my wow-that's-beautiful buttons. 😳 maybe heer was similarly stunned by the beauty of it -- her nod yes was almost imperceptible! thank goodness, at least prem and everyone else there with her got it!! 😆
The thing I loved the most was his ability to reverse the rejection speech as a proposal speech. Kya palti maara!!! Heer undoubtely was amazed at her darling's ability to be so charming right after rejecting her. What was Lallu doing there standing? He could have left the place before but having no self-respect at all he stood there fuming over his son and Heer. But watching intently his son's way of proposing.........
(the amount of wind from the collective sighs from the female contingent on the sofa, when prem knelt, was enough to lift the laughing-eyed cousin's hair in a very prem-like fashion.... gee, that would be a cheap way to do the special effects in the show, no? get a bunch of girls for free, to stand around when prem-heer look into each other's eyes.
sigh they would go, and up the prem-hair would go. cheaper than buying an electric fan to do the same. 😆) 🤣
[Quote=estee]* prem thing: did anyone else notice how his eyes, lifted to heer's when asking her to marry him (finally! you donkey. if you weren't so pretty, i'd hit you on the upside of your head!), didn't break contact even when laluchacha left in a huff?
Estee, you are so funny. Prem tried not to break the eye contact but Heer did break it eventually. Why doesnt she leave Lallu's anger alone? Why does she think about the oldies false distress?
[Quote=estee]* prem-heer thing: what pleased little faces these two had at the end of the down-on-one-knee proposal! it was so
cute! (made me want to hit prem on the upside of his head even harder for not having just done the damned thing earlier!)
I have been trying to hunt down Prem to beat him for so long. He is such an idiot!!!! But its better to be late than never.😆
[Quote=estee]* big thing: oh-oh, dirtchachi is back! and grinding her teeth at news of the prem-heer engagement. she's out to get prem for the disastrous non-wedding to ashlesha for sure. i
do wish that preet would be a little more careful in how he invokes the dirtchachi weapon against his father. he
really doesn't know how far she can go to get something for herself. 🤢
Me too. I think, Preet should give it a break now. Dirtchachi is not to be fooled around so frequently and for so long. Preet will suffer ones she comes to know that Ash is not pregnant. Why is dirtchachi after Prem.......but I still somehow prefer vamps to be after the hero rather than the heroine......
[Quote=estee]what was new in this scene was that ashlesha's father also didn't sound happy about the engagement. he's such a spud-head -- why does
he care? i hate all this vile contingent gathering around to make new troubles for prem and heer. like they weren't good enough at making trouble for themselves! 🤣
Yup......there are increasing loose ends but no one is bothering to tie them up. The most irritating one being Prem's weird love for his bauji.
[Quote=estee]i just realised that all the misery in the show was not as bad as dirtchachi being around.
Those Dirtchachi days were so much better. Though Premeer were apart from each other but still they had all those lovingly intense scenes. Now even though they are living together all they do is cry and cry......
The serial is getting so much dangerous that I doubt we would like it when dirtchachi gains power again. She will surely become more violent. But yes, I prefer dirtchachi acting as barrier rather than Lallu. Oh, how I want those dirchachi, handholding, marathon days back.
[Quote=estee]* prem thing: hmm, so is he miserable because he is beginning to realise more and more how much laluchacha is allergic to heer in prem's life? what was the meaning of his remembering
those things? i want to know. 😕
Prem is definitely in misery for not being with his father. He has a very weird relationship with his dad. Prem has his mother on one side and father on the other. When it comes to choosing, he will choose his father. Prem, always takes people for granted. And as he knows that his mother wont stop talking with him if he goes against her he will choose his father.
[Quote=estee]* little thing: so did anyone else think that the old guy's story was just
tooooo much of a coincidence? er, did it cross anyone else's mind that he was planted there by dirtchachi's gang?? no?
Obviously..........it was so tacky. How can anyone's story be so similar? But the old man did say that with age he has learned to forgive and forget. But the only words that Prem and his Heer decided to concentrate on was the classless story. And so they will act upon it. But cant they see that with age oldies learn to forget and moreover Lallu has a big house and four other children. Even if everyone leaves him I-dont-have-any-opinion-Harman will stay. Who, by the way is now, I-am-lost-Harman. Where is he?Anyway, but Prem will act as if his father only has him in his life.
[Quote=estee]okay, how about they are so touched by the story, that prem and heer will invite the old guy to live with them and treat them as his children? no?
No, I dont think that will happen. But it is better to do that then go back to Lallu the loafer.
[Quote=estee]* little thing: so who else thinks that heer's going to take prem to the hospital to treat his new wound with a tentanous shot? and that while they are there, the ambulance will bring laluchacha to be treated?
I think, Heer will see Prem's hand and will aid it by herself. While doing it she will indirectly tell Prem about how much he is missing his father ( as if that duffer needs anymore egging) and how much his father needs him. Then they will get a call about Lallu's accident. Oh, and in the background a song will be played, most probably, that crappy 'shayad yehi to pyaar hai'.
[Quote=estee]who else thinks that while they are all at the hospital, dirtchachi will use her wiles and schemes to try to get heer to leave prem? (then
she will get me to hit her on the upside of
her head!)
That may happen, and while you are at the hitting part, give Heer two more smacking on my behalf.
[Quote=estee]who else thinks that maybe laluchacha will wake up, pretending or really appear to have temporary loss of memory? and he will not remember prem having disobeyed him about ashlesha?
no, no, no? okay, good. i didn't like any of them either. 😆
i guess i'll remain content to wait and watch. 😆
He doesnt need to act to make Prem listen to him. His son is such a froghead that he will marry his bauji anytime leaving Heer.
[Quote=estee]
highlight of the episode having people with me to share being dreamy-eyed at prem-antics, prem-heer eye contacts while watching the show! 😆 no, not your kind of highlight? hmm. prem going down on his knee to heer. prem and heer looking calm and rosy and happy after the proposal scene. preet looking happy for his brother. preet's happiness makes my heart soar.
All of them are my type of highlight, Estee. Everything was going so well but then the last scene. Gosh!!! How I hate ekta and the creatives for their melodramatic-cliche type scenes.
[Quote=estee]("i want to know" is my new favourite phrase. stolen from the little sleeping boy. the same boy who gave me the name estee. have i mentioned i adore my madcap cousins? 😆)
He is indeed an intelligent boy. why doesnt he offer to Ekta to write the story?😉
