CHAPTER 3
Preet and Meher were standing in front of their classroom. Yes, they were at Stanford Michel School. One of the best schools in Berlin. They were waiting for their group. After a while they saw Prem and Geet coming towards them.
Meher: See, Yuvi is not there. Always late.
Preet: Why?
Meher: If he would not sleep till late for watching 'Superman' movies then how he would be able to be on time?
Preet: Superman *Yewww face* I don't like him. I love Batman.
Meher: Haaw??! *Surprised* I don't like Superman either and Batman is my favourite too.
They both gave each other a high5 and just then Prem and Geet reached there.
Prem: On which matter you guys are exchanging high5?
Meher: Oh, bagu it is just that we found out we both love Batman and don't like superman.
Preet: BAGU?!!! *What did you just say?-face*
Geet: Hahaha, poor Preet! Actually as you know Meher holds Prem as her big bro and Prem holds her as his lil sis so for that they call each other Bagu and Chiki.
Meher: Yes, Preetu. Actually from bhaiya I made it bagu and bagu calls me chiki. *Happy face*
Prem: I love my this lil chiki.
Then the two little kids hugged each other like the sweetest siblings and Meher while hugging her bagu said, 'Chiki loves Bagu too'...
Preet: You people are too sweet yaar!
Meher: But you are totally a sweet shop champu. *Laughs*
Preet: Not champu, please. *Irritated face*
Meher: Meaow *Meher made a sound like cat* see? Solly okay?
Preet: You surely know how to persuade me. *Gives a big smile*
They entered the class. Meher and Preet sat together. Just on the bench behind them, Prem sat alone on that day because Geet needed to sit with Yuvraaj. Actually, Geet and Yuvraaj were doing a project together so they needed to discuss about it. Geet sat right behing Prem's bench waiting for Yuvraaj. After a while a very cute girl with two ponytails came up to Prem and smiled at him.
Prem: What?! Why are you smiling at me? This is creepy. *Disturbed face*
The girl: Hello! I am sorry, I am Heer. Actually I am new here. Can I sit on this bench?
Prem: No you certainly not.
Meher: What bagu? You can't act like that. Surely you can sit beside him Heer. Hi I am Meher.
Heer: Thanks a lot Meher. Umm, Bagu can you scoot over?
Prem: What?! Bagu?! I am not your Bagu. Only my little sister Meher calls me Bagu.
Heer: Oh! I am really sorry, I thought your name was Bagu.
Geet: Hahaha! We understood that Heer. I am Geet here and the grumpy kid here is called Prem.
Preet: Oh and I am Preet. Hi Heer!
Heer: Hello everyone! I am really glad that I got so many friends on the first day itself. Umm, we are friends now maybe right? *Not so sure expression*
Meher: Yes, surely we are Heer.
Prem: Not everyone.
Heer: Sorry?!
Meher: Just ignore him for a bit. By the way, you know what? Today is Preet's first day here too. But we know each other from before.
Heer: Umm Prem, you did not scoot over till now.
Prem: Oh you remember? I thought luckily you forgot about that.
Prem scooted over and Heer sat beside him. Prem immediaetly put his bag in between them.
Heer: Oh that is nice. Umm well, you and Prem are twins? You guys are in same class na?Meher: Haha it is not like what you are thinking. Let me explain our gang to you. Yuvraaj is not here now but hopefully he will show up soon too. Till then let me tell you about him and everyone of us. Afterall, I think our family gang is about to get a new member.
Prem made a surprised face to Meher but Meher just ignored him and continued her conversation with Heer.
This was Heer. Heer Rajput. She was a real polite and sweet kid. A very shy person to talk really openly with someone at first. Gladly, she met Meher and the gang who made her feel like home within some seconds. Her nature was almost like Preet's one.
Yuvraaj as usal was late. When he entered the class everyone of the family group were so happy but what they found behind him made their faces pale excluding Preet and Heer. They both were surprised to see all their friends go pale seeing the girl behind Yuvraaj.
Meher: Oh no! Aslesha uff. She is here today.
Prem: Irritating queen came back from her trip that means.
Geet: Yuvi must be very irritated by now because of standing with her.
Preet: What happened guys? What is wrong with this girl?
Heer: Yeah you all seem so irritated.
Meher: Oh don't ask. She is our...
Before Meher could speak up any further, the teacher started scolding Yuvraaj as he was late and he did not even bring his homework. Seeing that Meher stood up to talk to the teacher.
Meher: Mam, that is not Yuvraaj's fault. Actually, yesterday I took his homework copy with me to my home without letting him know as I was in hurry and I needed his copy to understand the maths. I even forgot to give him a call so he did not know about it. Maybe he was searching it all around his house so he got late. Here is his homework copy. Look.
Yuvraaj: yee, yee, yes mam. *Gulps*
Teacher: Fine. Miss Meher, you should not act as a such irresponsible person. Be careful please. Mind it from the next time.
Meher: Yes, mam.
After a while Yuvraaj whispered 'Thank you Meher' by just moving his lips. Preet noticed it. He looked at Meher with admiration.
After the class ended, the family group were chatting together in the corner of the classroom in their 5 minutes break. Meher and Geet were introducing Heer to Yuvraaj. Only Preet was sitting on his bench because he could not copy all the writings from the blackboard in his copy at the class time so he was copying it from Meher's copy. Suddenly Ashlesha came to him.
Ashlesha: Hi Preet!
She said it in such way as if she was trying to show off her a lot. Preet got puzzled on this yet he managed to say a hi back to her. Then out of no where Ashlesha sat beside him and tried coming closer to him.
Ashlesha: Oh Preet, you are too much cute. Surely you will be a very handsome hunk one day. Aanh? *She patted his cheek*
Preet was so shocked and felt so weird that he almost screamed out Meher's name. Then he ran to Meher and hid himself behind her.
Meher: What happened Preet?
Then the family gang saw Ashlesha coming there.
Yuvraaj: Oh this drama queen! She surely have done something.
Ashlesha: What a looser you are Preet! You ran away from a girl? Huuuh! *Blah face*
Meher: Aey! Shut up you over matured drama queen. Go oil your own machine.
Ashlesha: Hmph! Loosers. *She made a face and left*
Geet: Loosers. *Immitating tone* She is the looser.
Heer: She seems to be so weird and irritating.
Prem: Tell us Preet, what she did?
Preet told them the whole incident. At first they laughed like mad. Then as Preet was making puffed up faces so Meher pulled his cheeks.
Meher: Alele Preetu, no worries. She is like that only. Too much filmy and over matured drama queen. Ignore her.
Preet nodded his head in agreement.
At the lunch break they all went to the canteen to have their lunch. Heer was about to sit beside Prem and seeing that Prem changed his chair and went to sit beside Preet. Heer understood why Prem did so and she got upset. But she decided not to show it to anyone as it was just the first day of her with all of them. They all were about to start their lunch when Meher all on a sudden got up from her chair. She bought two lunch boxes and went to a table where the twin brother and sister of their class were sitting while reading a book together.
Meher: Ben-Bella? This is your lunch. I am giving a treat to my family group today and you know that after them you two are my closest.
Ben and Bella smiled brightly at Meher. They took the boxes from her and thanked her.
Meher: Want to join us guys?
Ben and Bella nodded their head in affirmation and joined them. After a while as Preet and Prem wanted to have orange juice so they went to take it from the counter.
Preet: Prem, why did Meher lied? Mom says lying is bad.
Prem: Oh the Ben and Bella thing? Preet, chiki did say lie to them but beacuse of a reason. Actually, Ben and Bella are real poor and they sometimes they can't manage money to buy lunch so they try to divert their minds by reading books. Meher often helps them using many tricks. She always helps everyone actually You noticed the Yuvraaj thing?
Preet: Yes I did.
Prem: You know Meher is a real good girl. She is more like the sun who brings light to everyone. But she herself does not know that.
Preet: You talk really like a matured person Prem.
Prem: Haha and you always observe everything in a very subtle way. Inside you there is another Preet hidden.
Preet: How you and Meher manage to understand me well? *Surprised*
Prem: Brother-sister effect! Haha!
After the school ended, everyone started for their houses. Meher and Preet took their bi-cycles and started off to Franklin Road. While riding side by side Preet started talking.
Preet: Meher, Prem told me about the Ben and Bella thing and a lot more about you. Oh and I noticed the Yuvi thing too.
Meher: Haha. Bagu? He always talks a lot about me but whatever he says I do not understand much of them though. Too deep and matured. * Not so sure-expression* You get what he said?
Preet: Erm no, not really too. He is really matured than us as you told before.
Meher: Hmmm.
Preet: But got one thing for sure.
Meher: What?
Preet: That you are really a very good girl.
Meher: Haha thanks.
Meher blinked her eyes looking at Preet while making a cute baby puffed up face. Seeing that Preet did the same to her. Meher giggled on that and then they rode off to their home having sweet kiddish moments.
