Meher was busy packing her bag when Preet, Ashlesha and Viren entered her room.
Ashlesha: So Meher, all done with your packing?
Meher: Yeah Ash, I am done with it.
Preet: So I think we should leave now. Kul di is packing our lunch in the kitchen so I think all is set.
Gaurav: Kul di is too sweet actually. Right Claire?
Claire: Yes Gaurav.
Everyone looked behind and found Gaurav and Claire entering the room.
Viren: So guys, I was thinking that if we all are going back by car so why not we visit the place, I wanted to take Meher yesterday on our way?
Meher: That is a great idea, isn't it Preet?
Preet: Yes, I also think so. I am taking Kiran Jeeju's car and Viren has his own so I think we can make it.
Niether Ashlesha liked the idea of Viren's nor Gaurav. They both looked at each other.
Ashlesha: I am really sorry guys, I don't think me and Viren will be able to make it. Viru you forgot that, we had to reach home early because the carpenter is going to come to my place. My cupboard is giving me a very hard time.
Viren: I know that Ash but you can fix it tomorrow too.
Ashlesha: No Viren, week days start from tomorrow and you know how much busy life gets. Please try to understand, I am having a lot of trouble managing my broken cupboard.
Meher: It is okay guys. I think we can go some other time. Please get your cupboard fixed first Ash, I can guess the pain for a girl.
Ashlesha: Thank you so much Mehro but you people should go. Why would you all sacrifice for me? Listen, Viren has already been to that place and you know what? I have been there too. Meher told me the location yesterday and I could recognize the place. Now both I and Viren will feel really bad if you will cancel the plan for both of us. We want our friends to visit a new place, right Viren?
Viren: *Gritting his teeth* Yes Ash, of course. But when did you visit the place?
Ashlesha: Once when I was in Melbourne with my parents. Now fast let us start for our places soon. I think I have forgotten my cell phone at the dining room. Let me get it back.
Preet: Are you sure Ashlesha and Viren?
Ashlesha: Yes completely Preeto. Meher now if you or GR and Clairu will ask anymore questions like this again, then I will seriously be very pissed off. Visit the place at least for mine and Viren's happiness okay?

Few minutes later
Ashlesha was going towards the main door when someone pulled her hand from the back to stop her. She turned and saw Gaurav standing there. Before Ash could say anything, Gaurav took her to the balcony.
Ashlesha: Gaurav?! Is everything alright?
Gaurav: Yeah everything is fine. I brought you here so that no one sees us talking.
Ashlesha: Oh yeah, you did a good thing actually. I don't want anyone to see us now, especially Viren. I don't know what is wrong with him. I tried to talk sense into him, I told you na? See, still he is acting in such an immature way. I just want everyone to be happy. He needs to understand that if we both are saying something, then obviously there is some point. He cannot act stubborn like this. He should...
Before Ashlesha could finish, Gaurav put his finger on her lips to make her quiet.
Gaurav: Sssh! Ash, take a breath and calm down. I know you have tried but maybe Viren will need some time to get over Meher. Don't stress yourself, try to talk to him again, okay?
Ashlesha, who got lost in Gaurav as he was so close to her, finally came back to her senses when Gaurav shook her by her shoulder.
Gaurav: Ashlesha, now are you alright?!
Ashlesha: Oh, huh, hmm! I am alright GR. I think you are right. I will try to talk to him again. By the way, you guys enjoy the place okay?
Gaurav: Hehe, actually I have something to tell you. Claire and I won't be there to disturb the love birds.
Ashlesha: What?! *Surprised* You two have some other plans to pull off too?
Gaurav: Yeah. *Smiles* Actually Claire and I already knew about Meher's feelings and I told her what you said about Preet's one. You know, she came up with such a brilliant idea to leave them alone.
Ashlesha: Wow, I need to thank Clairu now. Let me go and thank her. But wait what is the plan? Oh well, I can listen about it from Claire too.
Gaurav: *Grabbing Ash's wrist* Slow down, my girl version of Usain Bolt. Before you leave, I want to thank you too. You have not been to that place ever, right? You lied so that we can at least go there and Viren can't create any more problems.
Ashlesha: Umm yeah and don't say thank you. Remember we had a deal to bring Preet and Meher closer and now I am so happy that Claire will be helping us too.
Gaurav: Yeah that is true. I will miss you Ash.
Ashlesha blushed and turned to go, then she looked back at Gaurav.
Ashlesha: I will miss you too GR.
Saying this, Ashlesha almost ran inside and Gaurav smiled.
Two hours later
Preet: I think we have finally reached guys. Phew!
Meher: Yeah finally the Google Maps helped. I wonder what would we do without it.
Gaurav: We would listen to Claire and go in a wrong direction again.
Claire: Shut up Gaurav. I have never been exactly to this place but came to a place near to this, so I thought that I was telling the right direction.
Preet: Okay, guys I think we are already much late. We should start walking leaving the car here. As Viren said, it will take 5 to 10 minutes to reach the lake.
They got down from the car and was about to start walking when Claire's phone rang. She took the call and looked very shocked and pale. Seeing her expression everyone got scared, to be more specific, Preet and Meher got scared and Gaurav just pretended to be one. How could he be scared, when the call was from his cell phone and it was all a part of their drama.
Meher: Is everything alright Claire? You look terrified.
Preet: Are you okay?
Claire: No, I am not guys. I am afraid, I need to leave right now. Gaurav, you remember our Geology teacher? She is saying that my assignment copy is not done properly and if I don't mail it by today before 6 PM, she won't let me do the course this semester. I take let it happen. I think, I will need to do it again.
Meher: On the first place, I told you two that don't take her course, seniors told us that she will torture her students all way through the semester.
Preet: Don't panic Claire. Let us drive to the university now. It will take some 2 hours, you can still do your assignment and you can mail it easily before 6.
Gaurav: Preet, you don't need to come. We will take a taxi from here and take the train. You and Meher stay here.
Meher: Come on Gaurav what are you even talking about? Why would only you go? We all will and that too by the car.
Gaurav: No you won't Meher, because this is not only Claire's assignment but mine also and we can handle.
Preet: But she just said, it was her one. *Confused*
Gaurav: That is because she is too much stressed at the moment, right Claire?
Claire: Ah, huh, yeah! It is our assignment. It was actually a group assignment. We need to meet the other members too. I was the group leader, so the faculty called me, making me responsible for it.
Preet: Whatever, but you two will go on car and we both are coming too.
Meher: Yes.
Gaurav: Listen, you two...
While Gaurav was trying to give further advices to Preet and Meher about staying there, Claire saw a taxi coming towards them. Without wasting a minute she took the taxi and pulled Guarav inside it as if they were thieves and were trying to ran away from the police. Preet and Meher looked at them with disbelief and Gaurav exchanged a fist bump with Claire after their taxi speeded away.
Meher: I don't know what is wrong with these guys, especially Claire. *Still surprised*
Preet: Meher, I think she was just too much stressed to think normally about anything. I just hope they get their work done in time.
Meher: Preet, let us follow them, I think we will be able to catch up to their taxi.
Preet: Meher, I think we should let them go. I mean they have already left. They also wanted us to have some nice time. Going back may put Claire in more stress or make both of them upset.
Meher: Well, you have a point maybe Preet. But I wish all four of them were here with us.
Preet: I wish that too Meher, but I think today, you will have to do with your this childhood best friend only. That will not be that bad, you know? *Trying to cheer up Meher*
Meher: *Smiles* Obviously not Preet. Let us start walking.
Preet: Yes, let us start.
Both of them started walking in order to find their destination, of course the lake.
Later that day
It was almost the evening time. Preet and Meher had their lunch which Kulraaj packed for them at the beautiful lake side at the afternoon time. The place Viren wanted to bring Meher was actually a very serene one. It had a wonderful lake flowing in the middle of green large trees and beautiful little flower plants. The grass on the soil there, looked more like a carpet, only to enhance the beauty of the place. On the top of that, there was this wooden bridge built on the lake which had no railing and it gave the beauty of the place a touch of heritage too. The place made both Preet and Meher awestruck when they first reached the lake side. Now, they were sitting on the wooden bridge, swinging their feet in the air and having a good chit chat while enjoying the vibes of the coming sunset.
Preet: This place is looking surreal, isn't it Meher?
Meher: Yes, soon we will get to see the sun going down and leaving the orange hues on the sky which will make it look more beautiful.
Preet: What an environment! I must say Viren has a great taste. We all should come together here sometime soon. In fact, we should take Kul di's family with us too.
Meher: Yes Preet, you are right. So, when are we leaving for home by the way?
Preet: I don't know. I don't feel like leaving this place at all Meher. Oh well, maybe after the sunset. But for now, I think something is missing.
Meher: What?!
Preet: Wait.
Preet took out his cell phone from his pocket and turned on the radio. A song started playing just then on that station.
Preet: Now, this is perfect. Some melody was missing.
Meher: *Smiles* The song sounds to be from the new MS Dhoni film and it is so soothing.
Preet: It sure is.

Preet put his hand over Meher's shoulder and they both enjoyed the song silently being the witness of a breath taking sunset. Actually they assumed that it was just that, but actually as the song played, they stole glances of each other without letting them know, in between enjoying the sunset.
On the way to home
Preet and Meher was their way back home, when Meher spotted a Chinese cart on the road.
Meher: Preet! *Smiled being too happy* Look, a Chinese cart and they have spinach dumpling soup on their menu. *Clapped like a baby in happiness*
Preet: *Lauged seeing Meher acting like a kid* Yeah I can see that, but from when did you become a fan of spinach dumpling soup?! *Surprised* I mean, I can't recall we ever had that together.
Meher: Oh that, actually we had it last week. I mean Gaurav, Claire and I. A new cart opened last week near our university.
Preet: Hey, where was I?
Meher: You were gone for doing group study for a quiz to one of your friend's place Preet.
Preet: Oh yeah I remember. So you had a good time GR? *Trying to hide a sigh feeling inside him*
Meher: Of course I did and with Claire too. But can we have some from here now? Please?
Preet: Oh yes, sure. Of course we will have your favourite soup now.
Meher and Preet got down from the car and went to the cart. They ordered two spinach dumpling soups along with some fish balls. To their surprise they found an Indian guy working on the cart too. They both talked with the man for a bit and then engrossed themselves in their food.
Preet: Mmm, this is yummy Meher, isn't it?
Meher: Yeah, Preet. I absolutely love this soup and the fish balls are amazing too.
Preet: Is this soup as good as the cart near our university?
Meher: Yeah almost the same taste. Just the soup of this cart is a little bit spicy.
Preet: You can't eat spicy, I know.
Meher: Yeah but this much I can.
Preet: Yeah sure, that is why your eyes are getting teary I guess. *Laughs*
Meher: Still, I love this soup Preet.
Preet: *Pulling Meher's cheek* Okay okay. By the way, next time take me too. Don't go only with Gaurav and Claire.
Meher: Of course will take you too.
They were having their food when the Indian worker, turned on the radio and the song which was playing on it made Preet and Meher look at each other. It was the same song, they heard sitting on the bridge at the lake side. Both smiled at each other and after that, they could not help but to again steal glances of each other without being caught.

Preet was driving on the highway when something caught his eyes.
Preet: Meher, see the moon.
Meher: Wow, Preet. I think it is a full moon night. The moon is being a beauty tonight.
Preet: Sure it is. But I think we should stop for a bit here and enjoy the moon. Lonely highway, wind blowing and a full moon night. Today actually is going blissful.
Meher: Yes Preet, this will be wonderful and we will not have to die by an accident too.
Preet: Accident?! What are you talking about?
Meher: The way you are staring at the moon, I have doubts that we may face an accident, silly. So I think we should stay here for a bit and stop the car right now.
Preet: Oh yeah, you are right I guess.
Preet stopped the car and they both came out of the car. They leaned on the card and were enjoying the beauty of the nature, when Preet turned on the radio in order to fill up the something missing part again. This time once again to their amazement, the same song was playing on the radio. They looked at each other and could not help but to burst out into a laugh.
Preet: The same song for the third time on the radio. Wow. But anyway, I am already in love with the song.
Meher: Yeah me too.

They both tried to steal glances again but this time their eyes got locked with each other. They kept staring at each other when suddenly Preet grabbed Meher's hand with his one hand and caressed her cheek with his other one. Meher closed her eyes as she felt goosebumps rising in her body. She opened her eyes and touched Preet's cheek too. They were standing very close to each other and then Preet grabbed Meher by her waist. Meher put her hands on Preet's chest but then suddenly she remembered what position they were in. She freed herself from Preet's grip immediately.
Meher:*Looking down* Take me home Preet.
Without wasting a minute, Meher opened the door of the front seat of the car and got inside. Preet kicked the road with frustration because of losing a grip on himself like that.
