They say no one is born with a golden spoon in their mouth, but this desi lad surely has entered
Bollywood with golden
opportunities and sheer luck.

Sushant Singh Rajput played Manav Deshmukh in 'Pavitra Rishta' on the small screen and won a million hearts. Later, he
got a dream debut in Bollywood with Abhishek Kapoor's 'Kai Po Che', an adaptation of Chetan
Bhagat's 'The 3 Mistakes of My Life'.

Now, he plans to take another leap as he is
getting to share the screen with Bollywood's
perfectionist Aamir Khan in Rajkumar Hirani's upcoming directorial venture 'Peekay'. Although, the newcomer is just playing a cameo in the movie, he says, "I'm quite excited with the
thought itself, the more time I'll spend with Aamir, the more I'll
get to learn and considering the faith they have placed in me, I don't want to disappoint them." Sushant seems to be all geared up to work with his favourite actor and impress him. He adds,"I haven't yet gotten a
chance to work with him, but I'm quite sure I'll get to learn a lot from him. After all he has loads of
experience in this industry and is one of the finest. The added benefit is that Mr Hirani directing
it." But Sushant will have to wait, as Aamir is going to be shooting with Sanjay Dutt who has a
cameo in the movie too.

Due to Sanjay's legal issues, Hirani wishes to complete his shots and Aamir is required to be
a part of it, so Aamir is
supposedly taking a break from 'Dhoom 3' and joining Sanjay to
finish the shoot for 'Peekay' before the actor surrenders.

Deepika hangs out with her new buddy

Apr 18, 2013 - Reena Kapoor

Deepika Padukone, who is currently painting the town red with Ram Leela co-star and alleged boyfriend Ranveer Singh, was recently spotted partying with Kai Po Che star Sushant Singh Rajput and his current girlfriend Ankita Lokhande.

The people present at the party couldn't help but notice the bonding between the trio. Incidentally, this was the same equation that Dippy had with Anushka Sharma and her then boyfriend Ranveer Singh. "The change of women in Ranveer's life is known to all. For Ranveer, Anushka is a closed chapter," says our source.
Dippy who has admitted that she doesn't have too many friends in the film industry, seems to be warming up to the idea of making new friends. "Sushant and Deepika ran into each other at a party. There was certainly no mush between them but they were talking for a long time," says an eyewitness.
Looks like somebody is keeping her options open.

Raj Kumar Yadav (L), Sushant Singh Rajput (C) and Amit Sadh (R), lead cast of Indian film 'Kai Po Che' play a cricket match during their promotional tour in Dubai.

Ever since he struck gold with a stunning debut in 'Kai Po Che', actor Sushant Singh Rajput has been making headlines in Bollywood, with numerous filmmakers queuing outside his house to sign him on.

The actor, however, claims to be extremely selective, and isn't willing to sign on just about anything.

But the latest to do the rounds is how his popularity is also transcending into the ad world.

According to the Indian media, he has apparently been signed on to endorse a fizzy drink.

He will be the new recruit for Pepsi.

The actor who spiralled into fame through the TV soap 'Pavitra Rishta' will soon be seen in Rajkumar Hirani's 'Peekay', alongside stalwarts like Aamir Khan and Anushka Sharma. He has also bagged an yet-to-be titled movie under the prestigious YashRaj banner.

Sushant's personal life has also been hugely documented with his co-star and lover Ankita Lokhande falling in love on the set of their TV show.

He even proposed to her on the set of Indian dance reality show 'Jhalak Dikhla Jaa' season 4, in which they competed against each other.

With famous stars like Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Rani Mukherji, Shahid Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor, among the many who've put their stamp on the drink, Sushant definitely is in good company.

A birdie spotted Sana Saeed (the grown up Anjali of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai) in deep conversation with a friend at a Versova cafe.

Sushant Singh Rajput was also spotted for a short while. He left within minutes. If he was in a tearing hurry, why did he even step in? Hmmm

THE BIG LEAP

TV actors are bagging big-ticket roles in Bollywood like they've never done before

Sure, Shah Rukh Khan did it in 1992. But ever since the turn of the century and the onset of saas-bahu soaps, hardly any television actor has made a successful transition from small screen to the big. Until now, that is. With Sushant Singh Rajput's super-successful debut in Kai Po Che, the jinx has finally broken.

Popular TV actor Hussain Kuwajerwala, who'll make his Bollywood debut with Shree this week, is also happy with the new trend. "TV actors are being accepted in movies now. This is very good for us. Earlier, there was an apprehension that TV actors won't do well in movies because they get far too exposed already. Thankfully, that perception has changed. Earlier, the success ratio was not so good. But that has changed, especially after Rajeev Khandelwal made the switch to films from TV."

Rajput played the proverbial good boy in Ekta Kapoor's Pavitra Rishta till films came along. And, Rajput is not the only poster b oy of this change. Ram Kapoor, who has been part of many telly soaps, has been bagging films with the biggest banners in Bollywood ' he played the the 'Dad' in YRF's Mere Dad Ki Maruti, and had a meaty role in Karan Johar's Student Of The Year.

Experts say this new trend is a reflection of better talent on the tube, and more accepting and mature audiences. "It's all about talent. If you're a talented actor, filmmakers will cast you, that's the bottomline," says filmmaker Kunal Kohli. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh seconds that. "TV actors are very talented. But there was this perception that they are not good actors. That has changed. Moreover, audience want to watch good cinema."

Hussain adds that the change can also be partly attributed to filmmakers scouting for talent and not stars these days. "New-age directors have also changed their mindset ' they cast actors based on roles, not star value."
