Part 5

Unforgettable moments together

Midday

Heer opened her eyes and was surprised.

Heer: Aap? (became conscious and covered herself with the sheet) Aap yaha kya karahe hai?

Prem: Aap ka intezaar

Both stare at each other as a wind blew past them. Heer smiled and became shy.

Prem: Uh (nervously) I mean I saw you were asleep so didn't want to disturb you so I...well I was just...um...well I just thought I would wait (he felt awkward sitting like that as he didn't know how she would react to it but he was here anyways) Do din hogaye or mujhe aapse milne ka moka hee nahi mila.

Heer: I'm terribly sorry (weakly) I put you into so much trouble and because of me your plans got ruined.

Prem: No, no don't say that (he sat a bit closer) I was the one who invited you so it's my duty to take care of my guest.

Heer gave a faint smile as she was still a bit unwell. Prem touched her forehead

Prem: ab to bukhaar kuch kam hogaya hai (gave one of his cute smiles) Before you know it you'll be back to normal

She coughed lightly and tried to reach for the water by her side

Prem: Are yeh kya karahee hai? Thairye me deta hu

He reached for the glass and then put it near her lips and lifted her head from the back. As she drank she kept staring at a smiling Prem and simply admired him even more. He was so caring.

A lone tear fell from her eye and he noticed it. After putting the glass down he wiped it off her face.

Prem: (worried) what happened Heer, was it something I did or said?

Heer: Please (wiped her tears) mujhe or sharminda mat kijye. What you've done for me is something my own relative wouldn't have had done. I was just thinking whether I deserved all this devoted attention.

Prem: yeh kesee baate soch rahee hai aap? I'm not doing anything out of my will Heer so please don't unease yourself. (he held her hand and comforted her) I wish I would have been a magician who could have waved his wand and made you better in no time.

Heer: Aap jaante hai, aap bohat acche hai

Prem: Yeh (grined) I know (both laughed) But still I haven't got the tit bit niceness as you (gave her a soft kiss on the hand) now you must rest and I shall take your leave

Heer: Sunye (held his hand) Agar aap bura na maane to kuch dair mere paas or bait sakte hai? I'm finding it suffocating all alone here

Prem: (smiled) sure

Both of them started chatting about anything. He made her laugh many times and she simply forgot about her illness.

Prem stayed with her most of the time in the following days and helped her recover. He would sit with her for hours until she fell asleep. Then he would bring her food and make sure she ate properly.

Heer couldn't stop loving him more by the day and she never wanted the unforgettable moments to end.

Her headstrong attiude towards things and especially towards him was simply intriguing. He tried to remove her but she didn't leave him in peace.

Sabse upar likha hai tere naam ko

Khwaishon se juda silsilon mein kahin

He halted midway and swam towards the edge to climb out. As he took the towel to dry himself, the servant came with his robe and helped to put on him.

Pihu was outside roaming in the garden as usual and she found these beautiful rabbits. She smiled and got tempted to touch them so began chasing them just like a small child.

As Anurag continued to dry his hair he was alerted by hearing her giggles and was surprised to find her playing with the rabbits outside.

He saw her playing innocently with them through the glass windows. Once again he couldn't take his eyes off her and all his tiredness wiped away and he became completely relaxed.

Heer had begun to recover fast with the special attention Prem had given her of course. She now spent time outside of her room too but Prem made sure she didn't exert herself. He would be there with her and just pampered her to the most. They spent hours talking with each other about simply anything and that way they got to know more about each other. They had so many similarities that it surely appeared as if it was truely a pair made in heaven.

Prem knew for sure that it was Heer with whom he wanted to spend the rest of his life with and he was going to confess to her soon. But right now he was concerned about her being well and fit and then he shall do the needful. Everyday he greeted her in the morning with a bunch of flowers which simply brightened up her day and helped her to feel even better than before. She even got many surprises in the disguise of different special dishes made for her and that too by one and only Prem.

All his devoted love was showered upon her to simply show her how much he cared and now wouldn't be able to stay without her.

Zindagi bewaafa hain yeh maana magar

Soona hoga na yeh do dilon ka nagar

She also held the same feelings but was afraid to express them. She didn't know how he would take it and what if he only did it all in form of a good gesture. She just wanted to wait for the right time for him to come and confess it all to her.

Five to six days continued with the same events each day between Prem and Heer. Of course Anurag and Pihu had many encounters but she made sure they remained brief as she still couldnt stand him at all. Then again Anurag didn't seem to mind them that much since he actually looked forward to meeting her one way or the other.

In the evening of the seventh day

Everyone was in the lounge. Anurag was sat involved with his laptop and work. Since Heer was well now, Prem had taken her out on a drive. That remained only the three, Anurag, Nupur and Pihu.

Pihu was busy sending a SMS to Ananya.

Nupur was feeling rather bored so she roamed around the hall. She came towards Anurag and towered over him hoping he'll give her some attention and atleast look at her but he continued to be busy looking towards the screen. She gave up and went towards Pihu.

Nupur: Pihu why don't I advise you to roam around the room with me. I tell you it rather clears up the blocked mind

Pihu smiled and decided to join her. She put her phone in her pocket and stood up. Nupur

knew that if she'll join her then Anurag would definitely become attentive. They began going around

Nupur: Won't you join us Anurag? (in a mischievous tone)

Anurag: (looked up) that would simply ruin the cause

Nupur: (surprised as well as confused) you and your double meanings. What could you possibly mean by that? (towards Pihu) Tell me Pihu what he could possibly mean by that

Pihu: its better that we don't find out

They continued walking

Nupur: I insist Anu (teased him) that you grace us with an explanation. I would really like to know the meaning.

Anurag: Alright then (he put his laptop aside and leaned back on his chair) the view which is provided for me is far better to see from sitting here rather than from where you two stand. And I'll enjoy it better from here than from there

Nupur: (laughed) Rather too arrogant of an answer you gave Anurag. What do you say Pihu how should we punish him?

Pihu: (joined in grinning) Hmm kuch asaan nahi. Make fun of his faults which he uses as defences.

Nupur: Anu ka mazaak uraana impossible hai. Simply because he has no faults my dear

Pihu: Hmmm, (hands behind her back) that would make him a saint then

Anurag: Now we all know that no one is a saint in this world (shook his head) yet I must say that I've tried all my life to make sure I don't become a mockery and people don't get a reason to laugh at me. So in a way you could say I've kept myself away from all those faults which lead me towards that path.

Pihu: I see (tongue in cheek) then that must mean you've also kept yourself away from pride and vanity

Anurag: I agree that pride is certainly a weakness to some extent, but that doesn't mean Miss Priyamvada that the person looses it completely. Vanity is something no human being can stay away from. Yes some show it too boldly and some simply decide to bury it inside them.

Pihu rolled her eyes and disagreed.

Anurag: Miss Priyamvada I'm not saying I'm a man without faults but I certainly don't allow anybody to find out about them or analyse them (he gave her a sharp look) It's my pride which allows me to make the certain right decisions in life and unfortunately I can't help it. Once I dismiss something out of my mind then it's impossible to ever bring it back.

Pihu: Yeh sach much me insaan kee bari kamzori hai, (put her eyes downward) per me ospe has nahi saktee

Anurag: In my eyes, a weak mind always leads to the dark side

Pihu: (a bit excited) Aap kee sabse bari kamzori to sabko hamesha nafrat se or arrogance se dekhna hai

Anurag: (annoyed) Or aapki, sab ko hamesha ghalat samjhna hai

Nupur saw the discussion had heated up too much between them two

Nupur: Okay guys just chill (raised her hands in midair) I say why don't we do something else.

She grabbed the remote of the T.V and switched it on randomly. Pihu and Anurag kept staring at each other as if they wanted to kill each other.

Prem and Heer's romantic date

They had driven for sometime now with Prem doing most of the talking since she just loved listening to him. Of course she gave short replies in monosyllables and let him do the rest. She still hadn't recovered totally but he thought that fresh air would change her health quick.

Prem: I hope you're not getting bored Heer?

Heer: (shook her head) No, I can never get bored with you

Prem: (had a sly smile) Really, May I ask why it is that way mam?

Heer: Well (her cheeks went full red and it was good that it was dark otherwise she would died ti let him see her blush so much. She just sat there grinning over the fact that he had such an affect on her that she didn't know what to say)

Prem: Come on Heer tell me (on pupose he persisted because he loved how his teasing brought that sparkle in her beautiful blue eyes) I won't leave you until you tell me

Heer couldn't understand how to tell him and was totally flushed. The constant tease in his voice was total torture for her and just wished he would stop asking. Of course she knew the answer but felt too shy to reveal them.

Prem: Heer I'm still waiting (his teasing continued) come on it's not that hard is it?

Heer: Will you please stop teasing me (she grinned still hiding her gaze from him) you know pretty well what affect your words have

Prem: As in?

Heer: You don't give up do you?

Prem: (laughed) Never (then he stopped the car) we're here

Heer: (was confused as to where they were) Where are we?

Prem: I wanted to show you something (smiled and then opened the door whilst had waited for her to do the same)

Once they were out she still wondered where they were. He took her with him. She didn't protest or ask any further questions as she trusted him totally to know that she was in safe hands. Wherever he was going to take her it was going to be a pleasure.

It turned out to be one pleasant sight for sure and she couldn't stop looking at it. He had organised an exlusive dinner in an open air resatuarant which was fully booked only for them. She was mesmerised with the arramgements and the decoration of candles and flowers simply blew her off her feet. She couldn't believe he did it all for her and when she asked in gestures as to was it for her? And in reply he gave a simple nod with a cute smile.

Prem: (extended his hand out) May I?

Heer most willingly put her hand in his as he escorted her to the table. Then like a perfect gentleman took out her chair for her and then sat opposite. All she could do was stare at him and his charm. Altogether it was a wonderful package.

Soon later the food arrived with two to four waiters held especially to serve them. Heer got surprises after surprises as she saw that everything was ordered according to her taste.

Prem: I hope you enjoy the food. Sab tumhaari hee pasand hain

Heer: (really awed) wow how did you know all this?

Prem: ask your heart which seems to be connected with mine (his chocolate brown eyes mixed in with her blue pearls and it was as if they were fixated by magic. She just looked down on her plate with the flush taking over her face yet again) uhh I mean that you're my guest so it's my duty to take care of you

Heer: (gave a genuine smile) Thank you

Prem: The pleasure is all mine (he took a plate with food and served her) Now let's begin before it becomes cold

They had a pleasant dinner with random chats here and there. Of course there was a lot of teasing from Prem's part which just made Heer laugh alot. She hadn't laughed that much in a long time and he simply got lost into her innocence.

Prem: (finished off the food and then got up wiping his hands) May I have the pleasure my lady? (his hand was extended out to her again)

Like before she accepted and then he took her in the center only to slow dance with her. It was on an automatic rhythm and their feet matched so perfectly with each other that they appeared a pair made in heaven.

Prem: You know I'm still waiting for your answer

Heer: (bemused) what answer would that be?

Prem: to why I've got an affect on you?

Heer: (her gaze remained fixed on the ground) I thought it was quite obvious

Prem: Perhaps (made her look at him) but I would really love it if you'd tell me

She turned her eyes away again with a shy grin. Her heart knew exactly what she wanted to tell him yet her tongue fumbled. It was too difficult to express anything as there was this part of her heart which remained insecure.

Prem: Ok, so then I'll tell you something (she looked at him whilst he gradually came closer) something I've wanted to tell you from some time now (her heart raced as she waited with anticipation) I've always lived my life according to other people's happiness and now I actually feel like living for my happiness. Do you know why? (she just gave him a dreamy gaze) because it's my good fortune that you came in my life. Warna yeh zindagi kabhi mehsus hee nahi hoti. I would have never realised that I also possess a heart which can beat for someone else other than me (she smiled and yet was still afraid of what he was going to say. Not because she hadn't wanted it, but what if she couldn't take it?) I can understand your hesitation Heer but believe me, what I feel is not just a momentary thing. I can say today with confidence that our hearts are not separate but one. Agar me dil hoon to tum ho uski dharkhan. Or dharkhan ke bina dil dharak ta nahi.

By then he was really close to her that their breaths touched each other's skin. Her eyes closed automatically and her lips slightly trembled.

Prem: (taken off guard) Hey Heer, wait...

She continued to run however with a giggle. He followed and soon they both ended up in the adjacent restaurant. When he reached in the crowded hall it was difficult to locate her and he kept looking around but she wasn't found.

Ten minutes later

Prem had found the possession of a mike and the stage. He had failed in finding Heer otherwise so he thought of announcing for her.

Prem: Ladies and gentlemen (everyone looked towards him) I know all of you would be wondering what I'm doing here but I won't take alot of your time. The thing is that I've lost my girlfriend and we were in between a really important conversation (everyone looked bemused and many talked amongst themselves about it) it's not a really big thing but you can say she is the only thing I hold close to my heart so please guys help me out here (many laughed at his craziness and he simply grinned about it too) come on I'm sure many of you must have fallen in love somewhere in your life so you could understand my dilemma (just then some shuffling was heard in the near corner and Heer emerged out. Her gaze fell on him with the mike and was shocked that what he was doing. His face lit up with her sight) there she is guys and I think I'll need your help in convincing her how much I love her.

Whilst everyone cheered and clapped she felt conscious and embarrassed. She tried to hide amongst them again with a secret smile but this time he wasn't going to allow her to get lost again. Henceforth he signalled the band to play a tune whilst he wooed his lady.

Prem: Ai dosto, gori kawari si haseena ke,

Meethe gulaabi narm hoto ka

Deedaar hogaya, mujhko pyaar hogaya

Deedaar hogaya, mujhko pyaar hogaya

Heer couldn't believe he was declaring in front of everyone but she somehow loved it. Yet still she couldn't find the courage to come out in front of everyone.

Prem: Ai dosto, gori kawari si haseena ke,

He got off the stage and walked towards her gradually whilst everyone watched them

Prem: Meethe gulaabi narm hoto ka

Jheel si neeli neeli aakhon ka

Deedaar hogaya, mujhko pyaar hogaya

Prem reached beside her and tried to talk to her but she felt too shy. She tried to leave from there but he held her hand back. She bit her lower lip yet didn't turn towards him.

Prem: Samjhaane na koi bhi ishara aakhen jhuka ke muskuraaye

Baate karu bhi to kaise dekhe mujhe to sharmaaye

Finally Heer managed to release herself and she merged amidst the crowd again.

Prem: Dil ko chruaaye uski adaaye, usko nihaare meri nigaahe

Meethe gulaabi narm hoto ka

Many people were awed by their love story and wanted to help Prem. They also tried to stop Heer many times so he could talk to her but she found her ways to avoid him. Of course she had fun teasing him yet he also wasn't going to give up. Once again he followed her around.

Prem: Chandha se mukhre pe dekho zulfo ka parda giraaye

She managed to sit down on a table with a group.

Prem: Gairo ke paas he bethee mere kareeb na aaye

As he got close to her she quickly got up to go somewhere else

Prem: Deewana karde uski jawaani, le angraayi aisee dewaani

Chaa jaaye dil pe nasha

Atlast she was cornered by him and then the others too which left less space for her to escape

Prem: Ai dosto, gori kawari si haseena ke,

Meethe gulaabi narm hoto ka

Jheel si neeli neeli aakhon ka

Deedaar hogaya, mujhko pyaar hogaya

She had to give in, in the end and just ended up hugging him whilst the crowd cheered and applauded. He sure had charmed his way to her heart and now she held no more glitches.

Shortly they returned back to the house with both knowing how much they had enjoyed the night and what remained in both of their hearts.
