Part 5

Preet followed Meher into the kitchen. She told him to get whatever she needed and he got it after a lot of searching.
"Flour"
"Eggs"
"Cake mix....."

He got everything right until Meher said, "Sugar"
He looked at the two containers confused. One was sugar while the other was salt. he tried doing eenie meenie miney mo.. and then finally chose the second container and handed over to Meher. meher was about to put it into the batter when she noticed a small label behind it.
"Preet!!"
Preet nearly jumped out of surprise, "Kya hua Meher?"
"Tumne mujhe cheeni ki jaaga namak de diya!"
"oh, sorry Meher. woh main confused ho gaya tha." preet said.
"Preet tum jao yahan se" she said pushing him out of the kitchen. "Waise bhi mujhe tumhari aur madad ki zaroorat nahin hain."
"Please meher. Main itna bhi useless anhin hoon jitna tum mujhe samajh rahi ho," Preet pleaded.
"Nahin ho? Acha teek hain. Yeh lo.. yeh anda crack kar ke dikhao," meher hands him an egg.
"Yeh toh bohat easy hain" He takes the egg, bangs it on the counter and stares as the whole egg breaks in his hands. Meher folds her arms across her chest.
"Sorry. phir se try karta hoon," This time he takes the eggs and carefully cracks the egg in the middle. In his excitement of it working he throws the egg shells instead of the yolk in the batter.
"Preet!! yeh tumne kya kiya!? Tumne shells ko kyun andhar pehka," Meher shouted while quickly taking them out.
"Preet tum jao! Warne yeh cake kabhi nahin banega." She refuses to listen to anything and makes him leave. She peacefully starts making the cake and puts it into the oven to bake. When the timer rang, Preet raced into the kitchen. Without thinking he puts his hand into the oven to take it out then shouts, "OUCH."
"Preet!!" Meher shouts worriedly. She quickly puts on a pair of oven mitts and outs the cake away on the counter. Then she hurried over to Preet and takes his hand in her own.
"Preet tum hamesha baachon ki tarha harqatein kyun karte ho! Dekho kaise jal gaye hain," Meher scolded.
"Lekin Meher," Preet tried to say but she stopped him, "Bilkul chup. Mujhe kuch nahin sunna. Aur tum yahin ruko. Hilna mat," Meher finds Heer and asks her where the ointment is. She quickly fetches it and hurries to Preet who was sitting on a chair studying his burnt finger.
"Dikhao." Meher ordered. He showed it to her. She took it in her hands and started applying the ointment slowly and as carefully as she could while Preet was unable to take his eyes off her face. He hardly realized he was in pain as he was so busy staring at her. Meher would raise her eyes to his face every few seconds to see if she was hurting him.
Meher flinched, "Zyada dukh toh nahin raha Preet," she asked.
"Nahin. Bohat acha lag raha hain," Preet blurted out. Meher looked at him like he had just said that the sky is green.
"You know what Preet? You are the most unpredictable person I've met. Anyways, ho gaya." She said leaving his hand. She went back into the kitchen while a shocked Preet just sat there and for once he did not know what to say or think.
Meanwhile, Meher finished up with the cake. She had just finished the icing part and decided that it was done. She took the cake to Preet who was seated at the dining table staring into space thinking God-knows-what.
"Preet" Meher called him. "yeh lo tumhara chocolate cake." She gave it to him with a smile. And laughed as Preet's eyes lit up.
"Thanks so much Meher... kitna tasty lag raha hain," He grabbed a knife and cut out two slices and put them on two plates handing one over to her. He motioned for her to sit down. She did then they both took a bite out of the cake.
"Wow... Meher this is seriously the best cake I've ever tasted!!" Preet said truthfully.
"It is pretty good," Meher said after tasting it.
"Nah.. it's toooo good! Main aur launga," Preet said. He took more and was eating it like a child, while Meher smiled at his childishness.

Ashlesha, Harman, Prem, Heer, Meher and Preet were all sitting in the living room talking about the marriage. Preet was busy teasing Prem and Heer about where they wanted to go for their honeymooon.
"Shutup Preet!" Heer said. "Abhi tak shadi bhi nahin hui aur tum shuru ho gaya."
"Teek hi toh keh raha hain, Heer di. Shadhi hui nahin toh kya hua.. ho jayegi na.. isiliye abhi se decide karlo," Meher pitched in.
"Chup raho tum dono," Prem said, "Tum dono ko bas bahana chahiye humme cherna ka."
Meher and Preet both smirked. "Koi baat nahin. Jab tum dono ki bari ayegi toh gin gin ke badle launga!" Prem told them.
Everyone laughed.
Preet looked to Meher whose face had all of a sudden drained of all colour and was staring wide-eyed.
"Kya hua Meher?" Preet asked.
"Preet woh..woh.. CHIPKALI!!!!!!" Meher screamed pointing to the coffee table in front of them. After that everything happened in a rush.
Preet saw where Meher was pointing and let out a scream,"Aaaaahhh!" Meher was standing up on the couch and Preet joined her, clinging to her arm. Ashlesha almost jumped into Harman's arms and was also screaming. Meanwhile, Prem was hiding behind Heer's shoulder! The only normal behavior was coming from harman and Heer who just looked at all of them and shook their heads trying not to burst into laughter.
Meanwhile Meet were both scared for their lives.
"OMG! Yeh chipkalis ghar main kahan se aajati hain!!" Meher shrieked.
"Mujhe bohat dahr lag raha hain Meher." Preet gulped.
"Mu--mujhe bhi Preet! Hum e-e-ek kaam karte hain. Aankhein band kar ke teen takh ghinte hain. Shayad woh chale jayegi," Meher stuttered.
"haan." Preet agreed and they both shut their eyes tight. preet counted to three and they both opened their eyes, "AAAHH!" They screamed togetehr. It was still there.
"Preet woh paas a rahi hain!!" Meher said holding on to Preet for dear life as the chipkali neared the couch.......... The chipkali moved another inch closer to them then another then another before finally turning around and scurrying away.
Ashlesha, Prem, Preet and Meher let out a sigh of relief then slowly relief turned into embarassment as they heard Harman and Heer burst into laughter. Gayatri and Lalit who had also been watching did too. Meher's cheek turned red and she turned her head to look at Preet then realized she was still holding onto him. She quickly let go of him more embarassed then ever. Meanwhile, G3, Lalit, Harman, and Heer couldn't stop laughing then Prem, Ash then finally Meet who looked at each other and also bursted into laughter.
"Mujhe pata nahin tha ke mere bachein chipkali se itne dar te hain," G3 said.
"Darpokh kahin ke sab ke sab," Lalit added.

When everyone had calmed down they all sat down to eat dinner. Meher was embarassed thinking about her behaviour and most of all the closeness her and Preet had shared a few minutes ago. Meher found her thoughts drifting off to their first meeting, the dining table scene, Preet's wink, their fights, him feeding her, her baking for him. However he was like, he sure was a lovable person not to mention good-looking she admitted. No place where he was could ever be boring and even though sometimes he would annoy the hell out of her, she was used to his teasing and she thought about how boring her stay at the Juneja's would be without it. It had only been a few days and that Preet Juneja was growing on her!

After dinner everyone left to their rooms. Meher was just about to leave too when Preet held her arm. Meher turned around confusedly.
"Kya hua Preet?" Meher asked.
"Woh Meher main soch raha tha ke kyun na hum apne rishte ko koi naam dede," Preet said.
"Huh?" Meher said.
"Dosti Meher. Kya tum... mujhse dosti karogi?" Preet asked a bit nervously.
Meher laughed seeing his face. "Preet toh ismein itna nervous hone ki kya baat hain?" Preet was a bit shocked at how easily she could read his face.
"Toh...friends?" preet asked extending his hand. Meher looked at him for a second then a smile broke onto her face and she shook his hand.
"Friends!"

AWSOME & BEAUTIFULL👏WHILE MAKING THE CAKE PREET DECIDED TO HELP MEHER IN GETTING THE INGREDIENTS😃 BUT GAVE SALT INSTEAD OF SUGARPREET DIDN'T EVEN KNEW HOW TO BREAK THE CAKE🤪PREET'S HAND BURNT A BIT WHILE HE WAS TAKING OUT THE CAKE WITHOUT WEARING THE GLOVES😲MEHER BROUGHT OINTMENT & APPLIED IN PREET'S HAND👏PREET CONTINUOUSLY STARED MEHER😳IN THE LIVING ROOM MEET SAW CHIPKALI & HOLDED EACH OTHER'S HAND😛AFTER DINNER PREET ASKED MEHER TO BECOME HIS FRIEND😉 & MEHER AGREEDHOPE MEET REALISES THEIR LOVE FOR EACH OTHER AS SOON AS POSSIBLE😍UPDATE SOON😆
